  • Hello Friends
I haven't been in the studio this week, while I recover from a head cold. I have spent the time sketching in my sketchbook that I made from an old book showing that a sketchbook can be anything you have to hand. So we start this weeks art vlog with some simple landscape sketching with watercolour pencils and a few Posca pens.
Also, I did some more work on deepening the harmony of my current color palette. Working with colors that is in harmony means using the colors that sit next to each other on the color wheel. Using this group of colors that are in harmony with each other means you can create a soft, calm mood in your artwork. I want my work to be calm, hopefully offering a healing experience, so it makes sense to utilize the color harmony theory and use a harmonious color that brings ease and softness to the whole painting.
    I hope you enjoy : )

Where's a good type of mica for real red? I keep finding powders to be hot pink. Besides the cochineal big red I don't know if I want to even use that. Thanks always for your help!

Not sure on that one but there is a natural paint company I’m very interested in trying. Their Mayan Red looks “ primary red” but as I say can’t say for sure. Here’s a link to their site.

@@selinawilsonart I definitely like the size of their colors. I never thought to look there.I bought what I think are ceramic powders, they say rutile on label; I should of asked if they are painting pigments. I purchased them at the local ceramic store but now I see one video say rutile is pigment I will contact nm clay to find out for Shure. Thanks as always Sam
