I’m a middle school teacher, and I know I’d be more favored by admin and respected by colleagues if I chose a 28 inch buss down.
I’m natural and I love braids/locs. Sometimes I wear wigs but nothing straight cause I like my image and won’t change to appease the people around me especially in education where white women will drive u crazy at your level and above you admin will leave you unprotected.

Funy fact, I've been living here "up north" for more than 20 years and yet people easly take upon themselves to "teach" me!!! As if! Anyways, I would never go to HR or anyone. Unless I wanted to use them to pass a message...

On workplace "etiquette" the saddest part is defining the problems are also problematic because they're not perceived as problems for for people not experiencing the effects. Makes you sound and feel real crazy.
You did a good job breaking down the Harvard situation.
I had a similar thing happen this week with a new "ceo" if you will plagiarizing the entire presentation of the previous administration and having some co-workers come to me outraged while I'm just thinking if y'all don't go set down and let that man fail upwards in peace. My "principled stance" will not change his trajectory but if I speak up it will certainly label me and pause or halt mine.
