  • Today we are exploring the abandoned hunter's mansion in Chicago's suburbs worth $750,000 with a project car and stuffed bobcat left behind. I'm not sure what happened to this mansion or why everything was left to rot.

    I was here 2 years ago, it was more full of junk at the time, including a stuffed fox. Great work, thanks for sharing.

    Someone's grandparents definitely lived in that house for sure. They bought all those movies for the grandkids. It's sad they abandoned that C1 Vette

    with all the mold in the basement i thought at first that maybe there was a flood but then I saw the mold on the ceiling above the front door and im confused again. Very odd, great find though

    Great video. If the house was abandoned in 2018 it got moldy fast. It went downhill very quickly. Such a shame because it looks like it could be a nice house with a little work. It makes you wonder where the owners went and why.

      I wonder if they left because of the mold

      Moisture incursion will do a number on a home quickly. You might see that newer homes tend to have MORE problems with mold when they are abandoned, not less. This is because old houses “breathe” because they are not usually insulated to the same degree as this one. Air movement (and sunshine) are the best ways to prevent or stop the growth of mold and mildew, and since most homes in the past ~25 years have vapour barriers between the interior and exterior walls, they will never be able to stop the mold. Add to the fact that no amount of insulation will prevent a huge temperature differential between exterior and interior walls, there will be condensation on interior walls, which will add to the mold problems. It’s sad how a problem that home builders generations ago had figured out was made so much worse with modern methods.

    The vibe and the crosses and the “hunter” part makes me think of Sam and Dean on Supernatural 😂

    FUI that locked room upstairs, the lock was only a modesty lock. You can tell by the pinhole in the center of the knob. Put a peice of wire or other thin metal in the hole and push, and the lock will pop open.

    Strange how someone moved all the fallen sheet rock into that bathroom. Great explore! Also... that was a transmission 😉

    That is a 1954 Chevy Corvette being restored. It is worth a bundle of money as is.

  • @dunebuggybrian
    @dunebuggybrian 9 місяців тому

    The 1958 corvette has 4 headlights. This older model appears to have only 2 headlights. The viewed V-8 engine and automatic transmission give clues that it is not a first year (1954) year model. Someone could get a finders fee on introducing this car to a buyer. Though I don't mean myself.

      @CICWSfirearms Рік тому +2

      Yes it is a Corvette. I believe it is a 1957 to be specific since it had only 1 headlight per side and the roof panel shape. I have restored a 1959, my parent's own another 1959, and I am building a 1958.
