This is what I was thinking about reading everyone’s comments 😂 Everyone’s saying how hard it was but since I played on PS4 we start with all the DLCs including way too many free Zeram Powders/Capsules. I downed like 20 of those and just 200 S-craft spammed the boss. But low key that was dumb of me because then I was underleveled for you know who and fought him like 20 times until I got good RNG and somehow won
Everything one could say is said here, so I'll just add that I love the use of the OP's leitmotif as a sort of throwback to the beginning of your adventure, and how far you've managed to come.
singyist This is my favourite JRPG (cold steel series) game ever, it’s almost as if the creators knew I existed and made a game just for me🥰. To me this game is perfect and I’m sure glad I found it
Currently stuck at this fight, unfortunately my biggest mistake was not preparing items beforehand. I keep getting so close, I hope I can beat him today so I can move on to the next game.
Tips for everyone: have 1 party member dedicated to Chrono Break and Chrono Drive once all the minions are down. You can abuse the shit out of that and the boss will never get his turn.
So i just picked up this game and I can't believe I slept on it until now. Such a beautiful soundtrack and character development. Once I beat Erebonius, I immediately head on to the second.
@@Joker8pie Yeah I can't wait for that, though I know there are some games in between 3 and 4 but idk if I'm going to play them yet. The series is quality though, It gives me a nice challenge most games don't offer anymore. Reminds me of the early SMT games I used to play as a kid.
The only reason I haven't bought any game from this series yet is because I'm a Switch player and they only have CS3. Until they localize everything from Zero onward and put it on Switch, I ain't buying CS3. I want to experience the series fully.
Best and worst 45 minutes of this game for me. I lost count of how many times I died against this boss before I beat him. I remember when I first attacked it and hardly put a dent in it and thought I'm screwed. The worst is feeling that you are doing good one second then having nearly your entire party killed in one attack the next. This is one boss that you have to go all out on and use everything in order to com out on top.
Delay attacks + burst will keep him delayed in the 100's. After his first two attacks, he wasn't able to do much to me. This was on Hard Mode too. C was a far, far harder boss. He demanded that you optimize your entire kit to fight him. Delay didn't do much of anything with him.
I died 3 painful deaths that took 30 minutes each and was forced to think about all my options. I even had to use items. I never used items in this game til this boss and almost ran out. It. Was the first boss that made me question my S ability and made me use it wisely. FIE was my biggest point as well because she was always the fastest and I needed her to buff people with Emma. If not for those two, I would have never won this battle
I know this is 4 years too late, but bro, if you're reading this, once you figure out this boss, you can perfect him on nightmare mode. He's weak to delay attacks, Use your zeus gems and put together a team with Rean, Laura, Fie and Jusis. Have Emma and Millium for sure in your backups (Emma for her arts, Millium for her craft that does a wide ranging delay attack), and someone else who has a delay craft, Gaius is a good option. Jusis should use his noble command often, as that attack buff, plus the zeus gem on Rean and/or Fie, will bolster their delay attacks and cripple the boss. If you do it right, he'll barely even get a turn. Don't try this strategy on this guy's twin brother, the final boss of CS 2. Lou Luciferious is immune to delay attacks, so the same strategy won't work again.
+Havoctheend I just want to know something, is this boss optional or not? because i'm in the begining of the final chapter and damn i want to defeat this epic son of a bitch.
Well i'm on Hard so this will be "fun", but hey at least maybe i will have a difficult boss, because beside the dragon boss in the Old Schoolhouse in the chapter 5, not one boss was really difficult for me in this game.
I got a smooth battle with 2 healers and rean doing damage and fie as a evasion tank, a LOT of buffs and a little bit of luck... But the ending was jaw dropping, this series is awesome
The real stinger comes so much later after kicking this guys butt - once you reach the climax of Sen no Kiseki III and realize that Loa was, just as advertised, only a fragment of a much greater power.
I've fallen in love with the Trails series and this boss in particular was an incredible experience! Facing down a fraction of godly power with the classmates that you've come to cherish at your side. 10/10 series would recommend to anyone who loves Jrpgs. Sara Valestein is forever best girl.
@@smoqueed44 Irrelevant, nearly the entire comment has nothing to do with the boss. They were obviously talking about what they liked about the series in general as they recommended it.
Laura with domination. Tons of S-Crafts. Elliot with Holy Song and Seraphic Ring. Machias giving them a burst boost whenever I need an art used ASAP (Like seraphic ring). I pretty much cheesed it with S-Crafts whenever he took one of my party members hostage, since that's the only thing that seemed to work. I only lost to this boss twice. I got lucky, because I don't think he used his ultimate much with me. Removing his minions helped a bunch too whenever he called them.
"Angel of Slaughter" (Final Encounter), Sky SC. I'm pretty sure they are the epitome of a "fuck you" boss x-x. I ain't played CS1 to compare but still...
i found the series from a random conversation in a discord group, got curious and checked the steam page for Sen no Kiseki 2 and the Sky Trilogy, ive played every trails game (including the geofront patch) except Nayuta and Reverie.. never expected a conversation to spiral into finding one of my personal favorite franchises of all time, an equal standing to Mother 3
I was so engrossed in the battle but halfway through it was when I realized it was an epic chorus rendition of the title theme. Like many others, I stumbled upon this game by accident while it was on sale and gave it a try. Now I'm fully vested in the entire Legend of Heroes series, going back as far as Trails in the Sky right now.

I owe discovering this series to one man from the UK that I know on Discord being very passionate about Cold Steel. Thanks to him I discovered a game series to rival the Xenoblade Chronicles series, in my opinion.
The only boss in the game to I died. The only boss in the game that left my jaw hanging when it killed 3 of my party in 1 attack.... but by far the best fight in the game. Only song that's just as good is risking everything here we stand (when you're in garrelia fortress)
This fight is exactly as the song entails. The boss is mighty alright and his power to kick your ass is great. I definitely had my hands full when I got to him. He just wouldn't let up. Every time I freed someone next turn he would grab someone. Was almost a never ending cycle. And I thought I was prepared for that fight....oh was I wrong.
3:04 Favorite part in the track. The moment I heard the opening theme.... I love it when games do that lol I absolutely love it. Such a nice touch. This was such an incredible boss battle. The stage in which it was fought, the mystery shrouding this fragment of a powerful enemy, battling with your classmates at your side. This was a moment that it felt like Class VII could accomplish almost anything. I played on normal, so I didn't have nearly as much trouble as people playing on hard or nightmare. Normal is actually still fairly difficult if you don't keep up with levels and such. It's a nice balance between easy and difficult. I do think I got lucky because he didn't use his ultimate during my second try (which was my successful try).
This is one boss fight I never get frustrated (well, too much anyway), even if I get wiped out. Music alone is a good incentive to keep fighting this SOB of a boss!
@@d3ly746 Archange, daredevil (ace combat 7). Even Tie a Link of Arcus and Bring up Trust, the MINI-boss battle themes, were better than this boss theme in my opinion.
@@gallantsteel8542 no. This is one of the best kiseki boss themes. The orchestral arrangement and choir are executed perfectly, and it ties in with the leitmotif of cold steel 1's opening seamlessly.
Damn all the comments are from so long ago... i just finished CS1 recently... and played the game on hard mode. The whole time, aside from some bosses i was like this game is pretty easy for hard mode... then suddenly this guy showed up and made me think "i will never finish this game am i..?"
Buff Laura with +50% damage, then S-break after S-break with Zerum Capsules and Alicia/Emma's CP giving skills fueling her. Laura's destructive potential pretty much made her the Sword Maiden of Class VII that nothing could stand up against.
I equipped her with the domination quartz too. Do that and you can open up with a 200 CP S-Break for like 70k damage (at least with the pure attack build i did)
@@Thunder93ita Even better: After Laura does her S-Craft (she did 99k to me in cs1) have Machias with Chrono Burst and Moebius, use Chrono Burst with him so you can act twice (I thin that was the effect now) Burst Drive to give your group more speed, Chrono Burst again, use EP AND CP recovery if you're out (which doubles the recover thanks to Moebius and if you're close to Laura the Moebius gives the items a small range of effect, so both can recover CP), then use the S-craft again with Laura or the others, wait for Machias again, Chrono burst, Burst Drive, Chrono Burst, EP and CP, S-Craft.... unless I did one move wrong, this shouldn't even let the boss react once! in CS2 I think it was nerfed so it didn't work as effectively, especially in my nightmare run where boss almost killed me despite the same tactic being used (and moebius didn't work as good as before)
Laura is such a beast in this game. My "Dream team" is Rean, Elliot, Machias and Laura (Usually with Alisa and Millium on the side-party). Rean: Mostly because he's great at unbalancing enemies, and his most basic craft allows him to get out of an incoming art while attacking at the same time. Elliot: Great crafts, and with his high magic stats and that Master Quartz that raise the potency of healing arts, even the weaker healing arts wil almost heal 100% hp of a character. And when he's not needed for a healing, he can just blast Claimoh Solarion to one shot whatever is not a boss (or those thing Loa Erebonius summons) Machias: Paired with the Joker Master Quartz, Machias can deal some random status ailments, some of which Loa Erebonius is surprisingly not resitant to. His healing craft is pretty decent though. Laura: Only thing she does: Bash, bash, and more bash. I have almost no arts equiped on her but she has all the Attck+ quartz I can get, as well as the Move+ meaning that even if Loa Erebonius knock her away, she can come right back ans bash him without wasting a turn because she was too far. Also, dealing 11k+ damage with a basic attack, anyone?
I just finished Cold Steel IV. Can confidently say that THIS was the best boss fight BGM, took many L's to this absolute banger. Never would have played this game if not for sheer luck scrolling through the PSN store, glad I got to experience this epic!
I've been seeing this in my recommended for years. Probably since it was posted and it wasnt until last year that I played these games. When I saw this thumbnail again afterwards I literally said "wait, are you fucking serious?"
I had seen the Loa Erebonius several times in the intro and it legitimately had me dreading the encounter I would have. I was right to be scared as it proceeded to take the ass of both myself and Class 7 and serve it on a silver platter.
Decided to start the series from the beginning with trails in the sky 1 last week. Here's to an epic journey o/ (already played through cold steel 1. Got halfway through 2 before deciding that I had to go back. Felt like I was missing so much)
Welcome to a crazy journey. I have been doing a second playthrough leading up to the release of CS4. Its amazing how many small things you miss that stick out in hindsight.
funny story that could get lost in to the comments. My school was holding a debate counsel in the auditorium. Now, one of my friends was in that class and thought that debate was pointless. They were there just to kill time in school. (who can blame them) Anyways, the time came for the districts debate and the topic was something to do with pies. I think it was weather or not you could classify them as a weapon. Then I had the bright idea as the guy controlling the lights to suggest to the sound guy next to me that it would be funny if they had some epic music for the final argument. and with the biggest grin on their face they pulled up THIS. and played it on the back speakers.
I beat this boss and game last night. this music was truly amazing to the ears. I needed two tires to beat him and had a lot of fun setting up evasion tanks (Gaius my MVP). The C boss fight was the hardest and most annoying to me. this was just fun (obviously im talking on normal difficulty, after fighting C i refuse to touch this game on nightmare mode. fuck that platinum trophy.)

I was only playing on hard for my blind playthrough though, so your mileage may vary. I did use her on a couple boss fights to take a first turn so I could push Laura to the first turn.
I fought him in a new playthrough, starting from scratch that is, was level 61 and was somehow able to pull a win in ten minuets. Normal mode.(hard mode was last time)
I was over leveled and this fight still kicked my ass. The only thing that save me was I had Crow casting artes to slow him down, fie casting artes to speed everyone up and machias casting adamantine shield

Bruh... you made me change my whole perspective about zeram powders lmfao. Them zemurians got some lax legislations on overpowered narcotics

God I love this game. it has a great soundtrack and characters that you can connect with.
Yep all the zumeram caps and powders
Delay attacks + burst will keep him delayed in the 100's. After his first two attacks, he wasn't able to do much to me. This was on Hard Mode too.
C was a far, far harder boss. He demanded that you optimize your entire kit to fight him. Delay didn't do much of anything with him.
the only boss that forced me to use the difficulty down option, but man, with an OST like this I can't be mad.
I discovered trails o cold steel recently, too, just finished part 1 yesterday. And i fell in love :)
Please play trails in the sky to trails to azure if you're just starting, you'll thank me later
Trails into reverie is releasing today also :)
I don't wanna spoil, but HOLY FUCK that was intense.
+Havoctheend I just want to know something, is this boss optional or not? because i'm in the begining of the final chapter and damn i want to defeat this epic son of a bitch.
TheTomokiSakurai from what I got it was in order to move to the next day but I'm not too sure. And yeah, 200k health is nothing to sneeze at.
Wait a minute, 200k?...on what difficulty?
Because right now i'm in Hard mode and seriously if 200K is for Easy mode, just holy shit .
TheTomokiSakurai Normal mode currently, I don't wanna think about doing the same thing on nightmare.
I've just started my jounrey anew, starting with the Sky games. I have this video to thank for getting me into this amazing series.
The real stinger comes so much later after kicking this guys butt - once you reach the climax of Sen no Kiseki III and realize that Loa was, just as advertised, only a fragment of a much greater power.
Hajimari makes it even better
And this is how all Jrpg final boss music should be. Make you wanna give the beast all you got❤🔥🔥
I've fallen in love with the Trails series and this boss in particular was an incredible experience! Facing down a fraction of godly power with the classmates that you've come to cherish at your side. 10/10 series would recommend to anyone who loves Jrpgs. Sara Valestein is forever best girl.
And for some reasons this boss has a more epic music than the actual complete Godly Power XD

I had Fie's eva at 80 and gave Rean Taurus lvl 5. Took a long time. but i got him, eventually.
Memoria Lux that actually sounds pretty effective. Ill have to try it next time

The wait for Reverie is going to be so painfully long I wish they didn't tell us the relesse year so soon
Oh hey there Mr. “I’ma give your party the succ so you have to use your s-craft to get them out!”

I was so engrossed in the battle but halfway through it was when I realized it was an epic chorus rendition of the title theme.
During this track especially around 3:20's shift , getting a prompt for a link attack is so euphoric lol
I do think I got lucky because he didn't use his ultimate during my second try (which was my successful try).
so much goosebumps when the opening part starts playing
This is one boss fight I never get frustrated (well, too much anyway), even if I get wiped out.
Music alone is a good incentive to keep fighting this SOB of a boss!

And when he's not needed for a healing, he can just blast Claimoh Solarion to one shot whatever is not a boss (or those thing Loa Erebonius summons)
Machias: Paired with the Joker Master Quartz, Machias can deal some random status ailments, some of which Loa Erebonius is surprisingly not resitant to.
Also, dealing 11k+ damage with a basic attack, anyone?
i think it's sad to abuse S craft and items in these kind of games but that's just my opinion.
Laura was beyond broken in CS1. Once I learned how to properly synergize my team around her I basically defeated most bosses in a single turn or two.
3:41 imagine starting a burst in sync with this lol
I just finished Cold Steel IV. Can confidently say that THIS was the best boss fight BGM, took many L's to this absolute banger. Never would have played this game if not for sheer luck scrolling through the PSN store, glad I got to experience this epic!

This boss violated me. Probably one of the most rewarding and lengthy fights I had.
Just one more week.
I had seen the Loa Erebonius several times in the intro and it legitimately had me dreading the encounter I would have. I was right to be scared as it proceeded to take the ass of both myself and Class 7 and serve it on a silver platter.
A rather intimidating boss, not only in looks but also in what it does. A destructive one too.

funny story that could get lost in to the comments.
What the hell. That must have been quite the epic pie debate.

Of all people I highly disliked fie, because her attack never seemed to come around, and her various crafts were kinda meh compared to just oneshotting the entire enemy group with Arts on turn one.
I was only playing on hard for my blind playthrough though, so your mileage may vary. I did use her on a couple boss fights to take a first turn so I could push Laura to the first turn.
