    I can't believe that that plastic elbow from the 3.22 min came out so easily at your place, just yesterday I dismantled it to clean the EGR, it was crazy... The EGR was pretty clean, I didn't really have a lot to clean, but that plastic elbow with the two rubber sleeves annoyed me to the max, you can't believe that the factory people actually glued the rubber sleeves to the metal parts, I barely managed to loosen them with two screwdrivers the metal collars and move them to bend the plastic elbow

    Good video, thank you! But undoing the small bolts doesn't cause a coolant leak, only an exhaust gas one, as all the coolant flows inside the walls of the cooler, completely sealed. It is a metal water jacket. But if you undo these bolts, you will need a new metal gasket, and Volvo don't make or sell them anymore and no-one does online! I made this mistake, will blank the EGR and reseal the metal gaskets with Permatex Optimum Max Temp Gasket maker (399c/ 750F) to hopefully withstand the exhaust temps, as the cooler is fed from the manifold/turbo.

    This HPL EGR is an engine killer. The design calls for a 2nd MAP sensor between the throttle body and inlets to prevent 'diesel throttling' from occurring. This wasn't added until Euro5. The more ASH in the DPF, the more the EGR system throttles the air intake to create the desired pressure drop across the valve.

      @@yuckuJackD Hi I make the AGRA cleaning and the plate between the cooler...no mistake in the bord again!
      Read with Delphi OBD to much air intake to the AGR don`t find the mistake! (Al pipes okay)

    Interesting. I have same cooler and there is no problem opening the smaller hex bolts also. Pointless to open, but there is no coolant leak possible since no coolant is touching the by-pass throttle body.

      There is no need to mess with the water side. In the video I speak about possible water leaks, and that's not because of leak in the by-pass, but outside the heat exchanger. Such small leaks in hot details are really pain in the **s to be found, as the water/coolant evaporates almost immediately and tracing the leak becomes a nightmare.

    Did you find any gasket between the EGR and exhaust pipe connection? There should be a gasket. If found- did you replace it? Or you just put clamp back on and it holds exhaust gases in?

      One of my XC70 D5 185hp has gasket there, the other one was missing. Probably by previous owner. I belive I show that "gasket" (tiny metal plate) in the video. Both with it or without it I have no issues. Most important is to be careful and precise in tightening the clamp and not bending it.
      All this by my personal experience. Probably there are people that has suffer some leaks with lack of the gasket, but so far I'm good (in 5-6 cars, not only mine 2).

    Е ЕГР сутрин колата загрява по-бързо, а това е много важно през зимните месеци. Моят е за чистене и това лято му предстои сваляне и почистване.

    Кой от двата двигатели d5 185кс. и 205кс. е по здрав и надежден и какви са плюсовите и минусите на 2та според теб ? Кой си струва повече за днешно време :) 205кс. би трябвало да е малко по-нов и с twin turbo и доколкото казват по-тих, но дали ?

    Важната разлика между стария вариант и по новия е нормата Евро 3 и Евро 4. Дори и двигателя от видеоклипа има варианти със 163 к. с. а все пак е от новите и е Евро 4

      Софтуерна версия от 163кс на D5244T4 НЕ е монтирана в никое P2. Има в Р1 и Р3, но в P2 няма
