- There are SOOO many running books out there. And some of them are darn good! But they all basically say the same things.
“Train this way”
“ Here’s a schedule for ya’ “
“ Lactate threshold blah blah”
“ VO2max blah blah”
But I’ve found a MAJOR gap in the published books on what ACTUALLY gets an average runner to break through their plateuas and hit new levels of fitness and fulfillment in their running.

Here is a suggestion on how to improve the book. I believe most runners in the world think in min/km rather than min/mile. You should talk with your editor to figure out what would be the best presentation to allow for the ones from Old Continent to understand your tables. (the paces you give are very difficult to get a grasp on when you always think in terms of min/km). Cheers, Yves
Thanks for the feedback. Problem solved though. There’s a pace calculator as a bonus in the book where you can select km instead of miles. Just go to the bonuses site in your book and under the calculator switch it to “km”. Thank you for your valuable feedback. Perhaps I can make it even more clear in the second printing.

Got the book, amazing read!! Decided to give this model a full try over the next 18 weeks.. 😊 (a HM race) im a little worried about throwing in a few b races (one falls during 6 week base period 10k and a half during support) but hopefully i will find the right balance- (how much to hold back based on training pace/scale perhaps).

If you have 18 weeks to train, immediately get yourself in to base training exclusively. Stay there for at least six weeks. Up to even 10-12 weeks depending on your history with training. Good luck! 🍀

@runelitecoach thanks for the reply!! I will re-read the book for sure :) it was a good bit of concepts to absorb- changing my understanding of what i thought i knew!! so I might have missed it!! (Running for about 8 years, age 37 now) I appreciate the recommendation, I will check out the video and might be interested in a future race season of coaching!!
