I use to always use sand and love the look. But after watching the countless videos on your page and knowing the benefits of a clean bare bottom; I love the look!
Yuuup true, i like my softies between all the other corals too, my clowns hosting in them too and since then never closed for a shed, fish keeping "her" super clean 👌✌
Nice job, I have all LPS and softies. Always enjoyed how they flow. You mentioned the flow changes during the day, how much variance do you have? Also, what photo period length are you using? Thank you - appreciate your knowledge and videos!
Can you do some close ups and discussions about each of your soft corals and all your corals going forward? Gallery has really shaped up. One huge hobby house of saltwater reef aquaria.
I got the hydra 32s on my reef right now I like them I’m just worried they won’t last long. I had to get a second one sent to me because the first wasn’t working and the second came not working too. I had to open the unit myself and push the board in. This was a little upsetting but it’s working so I just kept the second and sent the first back because I needed a light, the 32 was replacing a 26 that had burnt out.
I wish the online retail sites would show a picture of a standard 2 or 4 ft tank showing the par distribution at different depths of each light they sell. That would help consumers in deciding which light fixture fits their tanks.
Late response but if you go to the manufacturers site they usually have some sort of spread/par rating. Not the best but it can at least give you an idea then you can go on reef to reef or UA-cam and find more info.
Just got a sweet leather that I normally wouldn’t touch. But it was on sale at an unbeatable price. My JBJ 45 is dominated by LPS/SPS. Figured the movement of a softie would be a nice thing to have
Wow that's some good light you got there. I thought I was doing myself a service with my all SPS tank having peak PAR values from 250 27" deep on the sand bed to 450 at the highest rock points (and there's still a good 8" of water above that). Oh and what's the word on that beast next to it that makes that 100g tank look like a nano? :D
Super fantastic saltwater aquarium and video too.....Also sir can I ask you can you help me out my tank have bubbles angels what stuff I can put inside my tank don't kill my fish and corals too.... Thanks you very much...
Are most soft corals not subject to the “fish nip and eat them problem”? Would they make most fish reef safe? I have a 33Long that has a forest of anthelia and pulsing Xenia on about 25-30% of the tank. Fish , shrimp love it. The flow is amazing with a wave pump varying the currents randomly.
Are the Hydras on a softy tank overkill and spending hundreds more on lights that is not required when you could use like 2-3 Prime hd saving between 6-800 dollars
That’s a solid overkill for softies, looks gorgeous none the less. Love the music you put in your videos too, where do you find music like that? Also what do you run your perimeters at for softie and LPS tanks?
How did you find the cabling on the light stands? I've got the 32hd's and going by the instructions the cable should fit inside the AI light bracket but the 32s must have a thicker cable coz I ended up just using the plastic clips that are supplied with the bracket. Love the lights tho
Jake sir, the green long tentacle coral on the front left corner, is that a japanese weeping willow? whats the name sir. im a rookie softie collector and im in love
There’s one in there in the center up high, just taking it’s sweet time coloring up and growing - it needs a LOT more light than other corals to stay truly yellow
I add about 1 drop of Lugol's per 25 gallons anywhere from once to three times a week, I do think it helps but I notice it most in the coralline algae growth
Looks great! In another year or 2 it's really going to fill in if you let it. My main reef is softy dominated. I was just debating either fragging or moving this guy (to another tank) prior to watching your video imgur.com/mKcMFij Unfortunately shading as well as stinging other corals but is probably close to 24" across in my 5 foot tank...
the MOLLIES are in there because they're awesome! algae eating, livebearing, long lasting, affordable anthias that come in silver, white, orange, black and sailfins . . . and they're too dumb to EVER hide, lol

Always leave the videos feeling more and more inspired Thanks !!
Soft corals are where I started and the leather corals still to this day 16 years later are my favorites to have in a display tank.
What a beautiful tank. Soft corals are so underrated.
Wow you have 5 tangs getting along nicely. Love soft corals I purposely scaped minimally in my new tank with soft coral growth in mind.
I use to always use sand and love the look. But after watching the countless videos on your page and knowing the benefits of a clean bare bottom; I love the look!
Ah nice been waiting for some one to compare the two and the differences
it's very subtle in color, but the spread is very nice and uniform, I hardly notice the difference after a few days
Gotta love softi tanks! This one is extra nice
Those torches are 🔥🔥🔥
im converting to all softies for seahorses and im loving all the movement in my tank.
I have a Kenya tree and a Toadstool as well. The Kenya tree expanse so much!

Great Video Jake. I'm planning on doing something similar with my 9 gal nano. Eddie
i use to use Hydra 52 i switched to G5 the results were magnificent wow huge difference

would you mind sharing how long it took the first one to burn out?
Super video. J♥️soft. Super tank. Mega light. 👊
Please try to test Hydra 64 on SPS tank and compare colors of both lights.

Love the vid Jake and love the look of the tank those softies are loving life in there, you really are a skilled reefer with a love for all corals.

Super fantastic saltwater aquarium and video too.....Also sir can I ask you can you help me out my tank have bubbles angels what stuff I can put inside my tank don't kill my fish and corals too.... Thanks you very much...
How fast are your LPS tanks growing?
How did you clip on the aqua illumination light? Is there a way to do this with kessils?
Are most soft corals not subject to the “fish nip and eat them problem”? Would they make most fish reef safe?

I like this soft tank
I am new to the reefing community. Your channel very inspirational. General ? How do you get coral on the back wall? Glue, magnetic racks. Thanks
The back wall of this tank is acrylic instead of glass so I use a combination of super glue or magnets.
Could you post the settings you run for the hydras!?
Hi Jake. Towards the end of the video, next to the “problem child” what is the name of the teal/greenish softie coral?
I don't know most corals, but this being a softie tank any green ones look like either toadstool or finger lethers, hope this helps!
It could also be an anemone
Are the Hydras on a softy tank overkill and spending hundreds more on lights that is not required when you could use like 2-3 Prime hd saving between 6-800 dollars
My current setup is dedicated to softies as well. #softiesforever
U didnt put the long whipping willow leather from your home tank in?
So much coraline so quickly... Is this on a calcium reactor with the other systems?
you know it, the TwinTech from previous videos
@@ReefBuildersVideo Well shit, I guess that's now on my christmas list
I think these lights should be tested on sps instead of softy’s.
*Softies deserve bright light too: ua-cam.com/video/iZTalcqBGAM/v-deo.html
That’s a solid overkill for softies, looks gorgeous none the less. Love the music you put in your videos too, where do you find music like that?

How is this 'overkill' for soft corals? Most of these grow in water shallower than most stony corals: ua-cam.com/video/iZTalcqBGAM/v-deo.html
is that a molly in a reef tank??
Looking to build a 48x24x21 reef tank, would a pair of Hydra 32's be sufficient? or would I need to go up to the Hydra 64's for mixed reef?
красота
Hello. how many hours the light works. can you show me the set program? thx
How did you find the cabling on the light stands? I've got the 32hd's and going by the instructions the cable should fit inside the AI light bracket but the 32s must have a thicker cable coz I ended up just using the plastic clips that are supplied with the bracket. Love the lights tho
hello, what is the best spectrum for soft corals with hydra 32?
what is the bright green/neon long polyp leather in the front left side. its the green one just in front of the leather you spoke of at 4:30
What's that green toadstool leather called at 13:19 I've seen green toadstools but none that bright or with such long polyps
og Weeping willow
sky a. Ok cool, thank you!
sky a. Looking again isn't that the grey one? In the far left of the tank
boy I love your fish tank thank you send is to me.
Jake sir, the green long tentacle coral on the front left corner, is that a japanese weeping willow? whats the name sir. im a rookie softie collector and im in love
HYDRA c'est très bien mais j'ai de bon résultats avec EVERGROW !!!
Merci Jake ADAMS ...
Jake, can you please tell me the intro song? I’ve already looked through the RB fall playlist on Spotify and no luck. Love the videos, thanks!
ua-cam.com/video/tb7qpevTRy8/v-deo.html
Reef Builders Ahhh thank you good sir
What clips are you using to add that extra lighting onto the hydras
the clips that Illumagic offers specifically to do this with their VItamini Actinic Strip
How about adding a Yellow Fiji Leather?
There’s one in there in the center up high, just taking it’s sweet time coloring up and growing - it needs a LOT more light than other corals to stay truly yellow
Reef Builders Nice! I didn’t see it in there before the changes were made. I bet those lights sure will help with its color.
Muito lindo 😁
Feeding and dosing routine for this tank? Lugol's solution?
I add about 1 drop of Lugol's per 25 gallons anywhere from once to three times a week, I do think it helps but I notice it most in the coralline algae growth
@@ReefBuildersVideo So no Reef Roids or amino acids etc.?
Oh yeah but that's just par for the course

any reason the molly’s are in there?

Two of them look blue, amazing!
