I think it would be easy to say that pokemon in the PC may get their digital basic code copied into the system and a virus from an alternate reality may corrupt them and turn them into digimon. Since data is not perminent it explains why digivolving is situational and reversable. You can even say digimon are created from the pokemon cloning glitch.
just constructive criticism but your videos are really slow paced and get boring if you could change this it would really help your vids plus it seems you don't know anything about Pokemon like the facts that Pokemon was released first and although mega evolution is sort of like digi-volving they did that to add more depth into the game as well as to increase the fun and strategy in online battling so in all points they are almost nothing alike furthermore your voice is dreary and dull lively up a little to make it more interesting.
Kain Beeper It may be true it was released before hand, but Pokemon was turned down 4 times before being approved and had many alpha and beta segments that were similar to Digimon. In the end they even had to change the name from capsule-monsters to Pokemon because of a copy-right issue. Please see my previous video about what if Pokemon weren't Pokemon. Also if you are going to insult my videos the least you can do is show me you know enough about Pokemon to be smarter than me in this subject. I strongly suggest you learn what constructive criticism is, and start your own video series.
I don't know why are you taking such offense in Kain Beeper's critism. What he said is true and I'm sure this is not your first time receiving complaints about your video's pacing. Your theory interests me a lot but certainly not how you deliver your analysis. Most of the time you'd repeat the same fact several times and you voice sounds lifeless most of the time.
Theory: What is a TM/HM? How do Pokémon use them, what causes them to learn a TM or HM? Why are HM's unremovable? Why did TM's break prior to Gen 4? How do they work?
I love Pokemon ever since I was 4, but I see why. Who cares if they are copying each other, they are created by different people. Just because they are monsters that you can tame and fight doesn't mean it's copying, they're just to appeal fans. Pokemon is Pocket Monsters, Digimon is Digital Monsters. Either way neither copied each other. So, basically stop accusing Pokemon and Digimon copying each other, they're just games/anime/etc. I know i'm making a big deal out of this, just stop accusing each other.
of coarse they didn't copy eachother they just copied some really old game that non of can remember, but are desperately searching for to discredit both of them >XP
That is a really good theory. I always looked at it like Digimon Adventure 02 - the minute a Pokémon enters the PC, it is automatically a Digimon. I never really looked at how the universes could be parallel to each other. And, to be honest, digimon also have individual types and attributes (the attribute being the digimon's ability), like with Myotismon being an evil type, and Absol being a dark type. Agumon's attribute is data, like blastoise's ability is torrent. Sorry for the long comment, but it really helped me notice the few parallels to Pokémon and Digimon Adventure 01 and 02. :)
Going through the theories for teleportation, like the teleports used in Star Trek. For one to actually work here, with our knowledge of physics, a computer would have to scan you, and then the machine would break all of your atoms and molecules apart from one another, and another machine would with the data of your scanned body, recreates you in another place. But for all the Pokemon moves that are in the Pokemon universe, we should know that they go by a different yet similar set of laws of physics. A Pokeball would be like a teleport without a point B, it would scan your Pokemon and breaks up the Pokemon, the red light that captures the Pokemon, then when you would release the Pokemon, it would be whatever light it is now as the data inside of the Pokeball would reform the Pokemon. This is also like the reason for you can't use the same Pokeball twice, the Pokeball would record the data, but if the capture was a failure the data would still be there, but it would lock the Pokeball, this way the data of another Pokemon wouldn't get mixed in with the already existing data. And Dameon probably carries all those Pokeballs with him is that he probably isn't registered into the system, that is why the automatic teleport didn't activate with him. However, Isshu/Unova region locks the Pokeball in battle instead of sending it to your Professor is probably because that they use a different system for their Pokeballs. If you go through the game, than the teleport system would send them to the storage boxes, preserving them as data forever until you take them out.
I wanted to say that, from a canonical stand point, it would make more sense to say that Digimon became pokemon. Consider the following: At the end of Digimon 02, we know that digimon became very commonplace in the human world. If those digimon were to breed with the local wildlife, it would lead to new creatures with more stable DNA setups being created, after long enough, this could result in Pokemon. This way of looking at it also explains why pokemon can be put into a computer in the first place: It sends them to an area in the digital world linked to the PC 'boxes'. I'm not saying this is the only way it could be, but I am saying that it makes more sense, considering that the Digimon universe, earth doesn't have anything other than normal animals before the digimon start getting involved.
***** I don't see how that disproves, or even goes against my theory at all... It just proved that legitimate evolution (changes over the course of generations) took place after digimon became part of the human world. Plus I'd like to mention that in pokemon X/Y there are roughly 700 pokemon. In digimon there are more than 1000 species that exist to this day. As such it means that if my theory is right, there are still many, MANY more pokemon to meet out there. in fact a couple thousand if the digimon ended up mixing into the gene pools of multiple species of normal animals.
***** A good point, actually... The only response I could make to this is that maybe they absorbed data in the material world, and through multiple stages and mutations ended up able to sexually reproduce. It's not the most solid idea but it's the only way I can think of that could work. It is just a theory after all.
***** *Touches indigo seer.* It's not that I'm touchy, I just want to know what there being 151 Pokemon originally and the number increasing does to disprove my point.
I just thought of something interesting. In Pokemon Crystal the Protagonist Gold gets the option inside the Ruins of Alph to have a seperate Box specifically for Unknown. Where he has to catch all of them. and at the time their were 26 of them because the alphabet and the 4th Generation has the 2 Extra being Exclamation Point and Question mark. Now in the Anime they are shown most of the time in a seperate Dimension not only that in the Movie Pokemon 3 they Created a new foundation of Matter for Molly to create anything she thinks up into Reality like Entei and more. So what if Gold much like Red, was ask by Professor Oak to Catch all the Pokemon to complete pokedex and Gold went for the Extra Mile and Caught all the Unknown in the Ruins of Alph? What if Thee Unknown inside the Storage System, together, in a box was capable of making the Digital World and expanding it throughout everyone that had their own Storage system is a possibility? Let me know what you guys think
Pokémon have the better games. Digimon has the better story, characterization, plot, theme, setting, etc. If someone created a 3-dimensional Digimon game that operated much like Pokémon, I would play the Digimon game over the Pokémon. Like, capturing creatures, leveling them, etc. I miss Rumble Arena 2. Super Smash had no power over it, at least, for me.
You forgot to mention that Digimon can freaking TALK! As in English, Japanese, Spanish etc. While Pokemon just keep saying their name, or part of their name, over, and over, and over again.
People need to stop saying Digimon ripped off pokemon Just because they have "mon" in the name. Yes pokemon came out in 1995 and Digimon came out in 1999. but the original "mon" is none other than Doraemon! which came out in 1969!
Vish Kal Aside Doraemon being a "-mon" has nothing to do with the pokemon-concept. While the pokemon-universe not just has artificial (semi) intelligent artificial life forms, but in Mastermind of Mirage Pokemon we actually see a computer-generated pokemon absorbing more data and that way becoming bigger and more powerful. Sounds digimon to me!
Dracula Yonkai Nope. The first season of pokemon was created in '98, and the franchise was made in '95. First season of digimon came out in '99, while its first product was designed and released in '97. This means in every aspect Pokemon came first.
This video got me thinking about something else. What if the Mystery Dungeon franchise is the Digital World from Digimon before the Pokemon got corrupted by dying numerous times? All those Pokemon you meet are destined to become Digimon. The Lore behind Digimon does allow this to be.
Bill made the pokeball computer storage in the games. Maybe he made the digital world so the caught pokemon would have somewhere to go instead of waiting to be released from their pokeball again.
Pokemon are pocket monsters Digimon are digital monsters. Digimon live in a digital parallel universe, that can be entered through a digital portal. Pokemon live in a world with humans. Digimon fight to save their world from evil digimon, and need a digidestined partner to evolve. Pokemon fight for trainers who FORSE them to fight.
Professors do seem fascinated by evolution and why some do evolve and others don't. Why do they remain in their evolved form and why doesn't Mega Evolution remain permanent? Digimon return to their rookie form after a battle or to their baby form when their energy is completely depleted. Pokémon... just faint... or die. They don't transform into eggs to be reborn again, like Digimon. It's is also possible to create Digimon from drawings, like Guilmon, and apparently, Pokémon can be manmade too but I'm not so sure both are related. While Pokémon seems to take place in a very "traditional" Japan, Digimon is more contemporary. PErhaps they are different realities.
Commence Rant i like digimon. i like it much more than pokemon but to hate it when people say digimon a remake of pokemon or that digmon is copying pokemon. like no if you sat down and watched the digimon anime and the pokemon anime you can clearly see that they are two completely series and should be treated on their own merits. i have seen and enjoyedd both for different reasons. pokemon made great games but the anime is just down right boring (now at least after like how many season). Ash faces the same problems every single season. Mix it up and i would love watching it again. Digmmon had a wonderfful anime but the game are not that great. i never played a digimon game let alone heard of one and that is because they didnt really suceed at the popularity game. but i really like the idea that Pokemon become Digimon. it would provide a new prospective on how the two franchises compare and difer. like how the PC boxes takes all the pokemon and makes them digital and then the world had to change and they turned into modern day japan and stuff. tht would be cool it the reverse way. like the digital monsters (Diigimon) took on a physical form and the digital technology was used to make pokeballs and stuff. that would be pretty cool.
...........Your kidding me....right?.......did you run out of ideas..? .....were you sick.....? ....ok then..... whatever you want.... I won't complain...
When you talked about the Pokemon being put into digital environments... Maybe the Digimon protected that digital enviroment not to be seen by the Pokemon.
I feel that charizard is about the same power as a weaker champion. So if charizard were to fight greymon, it would be close. But, angemon rules over all. :)
Some of the hyper powerful pokemon like arceus (SP?) deoxys, and mewtwo could wipe the floor with 95% of digimon though. I mean, what good is giant beam cannons when your enemy can manipulate reality itself and revive from being destroyed on a molecular level?
Dylan Rogers Actually, once a digimon reaches ultimate, except angemon, they would be the same strength as many of the pokemon legendaries. Although in Arceus' case, it would take a mega digimon, like one of the royal knights, or demon lords. Arceus would have a great chance if put against most digimon, but Omegamon, can use all delete. which instantly destroys the universe, and nothing can stop it. So only one pokemon has a chance in the digital world, but even then, it is close. And besides, if Arceus, who is god, goes into the world, why would he fight things that are gods themselves. It really is not beneficial, and since Arceus has a sense of right and wrong, he would not fight digimon like the royal knights, who have the task of keeping the digital world safe from danger when there is no digidestined. Most likely, Arceud would not fight against digimon, but instead, fight with them, against things like the D-reaper, or evil digimon that were made with virus data, like Myotismon, or Lucemon. But even then, why is Giratina still around? Every god needs an anti god. So his true digital enemy is only the D-reaper. And the D-reaper is not a digimon.
Jerry McGady Not really... maybe some of the weaker legendaries, like the three birds or three dogs. Look at grouden and kyogre, capable of destroying entire continents just because they are in a bad mood, or mew, capable of perfectly copying anything, it can look like, and do anything it has seen, so no matter how powerful something is, mew is instantly as powerful as it, and then some cause it can still do everything else anything else it has ever can do(which is why it is much powerful then arceus, despite arceus being "god" in the pokemon world) And then pokemon like deoxys that can replicate infinitely, heal from anything, teleport anywhere, and become invisible. it's simply not possible to fight something like that. And then pokemon like rayquaze that can fire beam cannons capable of punching a hole in the moon. Powerful digimon are way more COMMON then powerful pokemon, but the highest tier pokemon are basically gods, they are unstoppable. A single deoxys nearly destroys the entire planet just trying to find it's friend/loved one, and the attack only stops when it does find it, other wise it would have destroyed the entire planet. And I've never heard of omegamon or alldelete, that just sounds cheap and lazy. Also, mot digimon 'super threats' only effect the digital world, not reality, where hacking is possible, and a lot of 'crazy powerful' digimon are hacking and virus based, making them more then useless in the physical world. Oh, and don't forget rotom, capable of possessing and controlling anything electrical, meaning it can instantly 'hack into' any digimon and become it, and it's not even a legendary... Well, I think it might be semi-legendary or something. lol
I have always hated digimon (granted I have only ever seen 3 episodes of digimon but still)...i'm not sure which came out first but pokemon was always better written and... just less stupid. I mean the crap thing is a perfect example, I don't want to see crap. I have seen pokemon and digimon eating so I know that there is crap at some point but I don't want to see it or even know about. Same thing with breeding, i know pokemon breed but i don't want to watch them while they're breeding ya know what i mean?
***** Kind of. Ash wants to become a Pokemon Master, that's the plot; But the show will be going on for fucking ever and he'll never become a Pokemon Master, all so the little fucking kids can "grow up" with someone who won't, so then their kids can watch the bullshit "Ashime" like their parents once did and be disappointed, because he NEVER FUCKING GROWS UP AND NEVER BECOME THE FUCKING CHAMPION! And Digimon's plot is simple; save the Digiworld, and possibly the real one too.
I am sorry, but I can understand not liking Digimon. Digimon is very weird, the fact that there is several poop digimon actually kind disturbs me (Though Pokemon is getting close.) But the Pokemon Anime being good? I mean, after the first few seasons, Ash's character has became so redundant that it isn't even funny. If Ash would just evolve his pikachu and grew up, he probably would have a Raichu strong enough to one shot everything. But, no pikachu doesn't want to grow up and neither does the show, even Ash picks up and abandons pokemon on a whim. The only reason that Ash isn't the best trainer, is because of his own stupidity and refusal to grow up.
So since digimon came first it's more of a "digimon become Pokemon" which can be debunked by the digimon movie when digimon enter the real world and continue to be digimon. Also in the first season when devimon enters the real world.
+jordon meadows Actually Pokemon came out first: The first Pokemon product to be released was Pokemon Red and Green for the Game Boy on February 27, 1996 The first Digimon product was the Digimon Virtual Pet it made it’s debut in Japan on June 26, 1997 But I enjoy both for what they are so no need to whine or complain bout which is better though as we all know Pokemon has the better sales all around.
following the idea of poke balls and the box creating a digital environment, it would be interesting to think that so kind of event occurred in the real world and all pokemon were forced to stay in these environments and slowly evolved from the digital spaces into digimon
With similar adjectives, Seeing that they now have Mega Evolution Which first started with Digimon. You can compare they similarities all day Starting with the Evolution, Trainers,Monsters, Etc Etc So the Series aren't that different so to call the Theory fake is bad judgement , You'd need both creators to verify or disprove the theory
Only thing I notice: 1. Isn't Pokemon set far in the future, from our world? I swear I've seen comments by the developers saying, or hinting, that the world of Pokemon has much better technology than ours. 2. Digimon aren't living in a world we've created for them, they live unbeknownst to us in the digital world. So you can't really say we created this world for them to live in, we just happened to create it. And of course the world of Digimon seems to be much more closer to our timeline, not far into the future like Pokemon.
Um... what? Do you even watch digimon? Digimon were create by accident, but them, and their world, were indeed created by humans. One of the digmon movies cover this pretty openly and clearly. I honestly think it's more possible that digimon became pokemon, then visa versa, as pokemon seem more complex and evolved then digmon, being able to hold their form when they evolve, instead of snapping back to their much weaker form.
Dylan Rogers It's a bit complicated actually. There are more different universes in Digimon. In Tamers, the digital world were indeed created by humans. But In Xros Wars,Wisemon mentioned that the Digital World exists way before the humans. Different.Universes!
Andrew13112001 Well, I am going by the original, I specifically remember them describing how digimon were digital pets you could keep that began coming to life, and that the digital world was intentionally created for them to live in. I... think that was on one of the movies? I haven't watch that in so long... lol
Dylan Rogers Did you not read my original post? I said humans did not CREATE the world FOR digimon, meaning we did not say "Hey, let's create a world for digimon". I also said we HAPPENED to create their world. The difference in what I said meaning we did not INTENTIONALLY create the digital world FOR DIGIMON, we ACCIDENTALLY created it. This is pretty clear in the anime/manga/whatever since almost EVERYONE in the non-digital world of Digimon have NO CLUE Digimon exist. Only certain people, the digi-destined and whatever. Please, read over comments a little more before you say someone doesn't know what they're talking about, or ask for clarification first. I understand where you came from, the problem is your response wasn't proper since I said basically exactly what you said. (Digimon and their world were created by humans on accident).
The anime is a bad source of facts... please restrict fact finding to the game as the anime is a watered-down knock off of the game set in a different universe...
what i think is that humans multiplied too quickly and ate all of the pokemon. Then tried to disbelieve that pokemon were really gone. They then created a digital world and attatched themselves to machines that worked almost like a virtual reality helmet but put their true bodies into a state of hibernation while only a few people were left behind to monitor the server, ensure that no one woke up, and crate digimon to replace pokemon. (If you put this in a game theory episode, give credit to me and Nathan Tomlinson)
Naru Funny you mention that. In the Pokemon Ranger Pokedex(Not sure which game) It references Muks' trails(like snails or slugs make) often spawn young Grimers.
Ka Jacob well digimon must be doing better if game freak has to steal digimon's mega evo gimmick. next thing you know they will steal their digimerge gimmick where a few can merge together .. ooooh wait they already did that. Then next thing you know they will steal the ultimate digi evo. I don't even like digimon and had to look up most of the information.
Pokemon were originally based on capsule monsters you get at those gachi machines in Japan (thus explaining the idea of the pokeball), digimon are just based on digital pets but more advanced with american feel, design, and action
*But Proto!!* Digimon do not evolve to mega only from the reason of the bonding with humans... Digimon naturally digivolve in the wild, in rare cases they make it to ultimate level, and in even *rarer* cases, they make it all the way to Mega. The reason the digidestined digimon need help to evolve is because they are all still so young. It´s not natural for them to evolve so far yet, heck, most of them are *naturally* only still at Rookie level.
Simple. Here's a plot for the crossover. Pokemon get sent to the digital world, or rather, the storage system. Too many are sent. Pokemon go crazy. The digital world becomes unbalanced. The digidestined arrive to fix it.
Pokemon are not transferred through computer because in the anime it states when more than six Pokemon have been caught the others are sent to your professor.
Wait, that TV series at 2:45 with Red in it has mega evolution? I thought it came out before Pokémon X / Y (Sorry if this sounds stupid, but I don't actually watch the show.
I didn't know that the PC digitized Pokemon. I assumed it just transported them, like in the show. I don't think that they're really the Digimon from the show, but technically they are Digital Monsters when in the PC, so in a way they are. Interesting episode, I've never thought of this.
This theory only goes when you only count the digimon anime. When you look at digimon world, made around the same time as the anime, this theory falls apart. Digimon, unlike pokemon, can evolve into various digimon depending on how you raise them in a certain amount of time. Agumon for example digivolves into greymon if you can meet all the requirements, but if you're a beginner it's most likely to evolve into a numemon, tyrannomon or even a devimon.
What I think is going on: There's two universes, the Pokemon Universe, and the Digimon Universe (Which would be ours). The web, and all computer like devices (From both universes), form a universe in between them(The Digital Universe). When Pokemon get digitized, they take on different forms as Digimon. The DigiDestined protect the digital world, while The Pokemon Protagonist protects their world.
I remember other anime and cartoons where magical creatures are stored in a universe meant for storing those creatures, i remember one used gems like pokeballs..
i believe that digimon takes place in the distant future of pokemon and all of digimon's main characters are descendants of pokemon's. Bill's PC is built to be the ultimate pokemon storage system or bank where everyone in the world can store, share, and trade pokemon, as well as customize and maybe create their own pokemon. So suppose the PC has a system error, or virus, and the digimon characters have to go fix it by being digitized and due to the system error are stuck in the digimon universe. The system error can also explain why the digimon are able to talk instead of make noise like in pokemon
That's a really good and solid point. I think it depends. If it was the anime Pokemon, they probably could be like Digimon. Though, if it's from the Pokemon manga... yeah no. When I think of Pokemon, I don't think of digital monsters. I never imagine Pokemon becoming digitized or any of that. When they get into their poke ball, I believe that each poke ball has some sort of shrinking ray it places on the pokemon, then captures them inside said ball. If you put your pokemon in your storage, you put them through a tube hooked inside every computer and transfer them into a lab.
If the pokedex is the reason for only carrying 6 pokemon, then can you pick wich pokemon get sent to the computer? In Pokemon X and Y when you receive Lucario or Xerneas, you can pick whether or not you keep said pokemon and which pokemon get sent to the PC.
mega whatever is just taken from digimon.. that just shows that they are running out of ideas if they have to take stuff from a second class show(it did after all come on after pokemon and riding Pokemon's coat tails). a bad idea on game freak's part. The Charmander line looks no cooler/better with the mega than it did with than its third line. come to think about it Charizard was overrated then and even more so now because of the fairy line. as to the digi thing I have to agree, however I always felt that they went into suspended animation until yellow and pika was pissed at you for sticking him in a box.
Digimon was made before Pokemon. It was however introduced to the western world after it. And part of the idea for Pokemon came from Digimon and his childhood hobby of bug catching.
Actually both were. Digimon was created as a by product of Tamaguichi as Tamaguichi was seen was more appealing to girls. Digimon and Pokemon both got their anime releases around the same time in Japan however.
This does make sense cause when a person sends there pokrmon to someone else the connection could reads its data for example:u send ur chameleons to prof oak the data from the pokemon could be absorb turning into agumon.
maybe bill is relative to gennai ! or ryo ............. or maybe the digimons is released storage system pokemons "they go from the PCs to digital world and become digital data or virus?
A few probs with this theory A: in the beginning of digimon they're at a camp and no signs or words of pokemon are mentioned neither In camp or anywhere in the real world B: Digimon don't randomly disappear (Taken out of PC) what happens when they're taken from PC
ProtoMario It could be possible the species of digimon and pokemon are slightly similar, charizard could be classified as a fire dragon such as agumon. just some things to think about. It definitely is a good theory to think about. perhaps red was one of the original digidestined, instead of them just disappearing he returned to kanto and lived a normal life outside of file island. Perhaps he was never seen again because instead of them using kanto to bring a champion they chose japan instead... multi-universes connected to file island perhaps
so if you look time line release wise what if it's the opposite, when if digimon become pokemon that can't go back to the digital world, so the boxes are more like a artificial digital world for them?
It is possible that Pokemon can become Digimon in the future. But, not until it's very far into the future. The time periods for Digimon is more advanced and more into the years compared to Pokemon. So it can be assumed that they can be decades apart. A mutatuion, or a distortion in the data of the Pokemon while in the PC, can make the Pokemon change into Digimon and affect the traits they have.
there's a slight problem with the digimon terminology the digimon Levels had there names chaned upon the English release: In Training Was Originally Baby Rookie Was Originally Child Champion Was Originally Adult Ultimate Was Originally Perfect and Mega Was Originally Ultimate
real things can be digitized because in 2012 they developed the technology of teleportation. Using a computer they broke down up to a single photon and a computer read the information then reconstructed it in another place.
i think its the other way around with pokemon being able to be stored digitaly they were originally in the digital world and eventually as time went on they left the digital world and became more general to everyone (not like in the digimon anime where only the digidestineds get them) and then became pokemon
monster rancher are ancient pokemon and Digimon are iterations of the data created by pokemon taking on a "dream form" to subconsciously manifest itself in the vr
speaking of digital stuff, I have a theory about ash not aging. what if in the porygon episode, something went wrong and ash is still somewhat digitized even in the real world, which prevents him from physically aging. that's my ash age theory. it's possible, right?
You can also call Pokemon 'Digimon' cause they are 'video game or computer characters' like they call them Pokemon in their world but in our world where we see them in our Game Boys and DS screens they possibly could be called Digimon, due to them not being real but virtual videogame creatures.
I call the stuff from the balls "plasma" (please don't kill me for that and how Team Plasma has the reverse connection to catching), so that doesn't exactly work.
I think that last point actually could be backwards. What if digimon is the past, and pokemon the future? Think about it: In digimon, the technology humans are using is what you see in the 90's-early 2000's. In pokemon, however, they have fairly advanced technology, namely the ability to convert living organisms into pure energy, and reform them into their state before conversion. There's a good way to link the two universes as well: Mew. In the first movie, they talk about how they found the fossilized remains or whatever of Mew in south america, which gives a direct link to the earth we all know, which is where digimon takes place. So what if in the future of the digimon universe, humanity was able to bring forth digimon into the real world permanently, and that technology that made this happen eventually became the pokeball we all have come to know? So why do we not see the standard animals found in nature in pokemon, if pokemon is the future of the digimon universe? Probably because of humanity. Would it be that big a stretch to say that humanity started to have such a devastating impact on the natural order that animal species simply started to wane? We already are doing that in real life, so I can't say it's much of a stretch at all. And what if that is the reason humans decided to bring digimon to reality? It would make sense that, in order to help restore nature's balance, humanity would try to bring about hardier creatures that could survive the harsh conditions they created. What do you think fellow commenters? Does my amendment to his theory stand for itself?
well whit dogs (and other animals) they dont acctualy recognize what we are saying the just recognize that this sound means this action like how we recognize that the alarm of our clocks means to get up
no doubt they would be able to understandit if trained to, like how some animals can somehat understand like doplhens, but wild pokemon would most likely have no idea what we're saying
I heard a theory that digimon world was modern earth and some digidestined failed causing the digital world an real world to merge creating the pokemon world. if it wasn't for the different franchise owners this could have made a lot of sense. even explains the mew arcus discrepancy and why ash never ages.
are digimon pokemon? what i got from this: the anime doesn't really tell, the games don't really tell. so when they become transferred to a PC box (like your money) they become digital. and so therefore the digimon could be an alternate universe
I actually like the first season of Digimon, it was good, but S2 and S3 wasn't as good, I didn't like them as much. But here's why I think that this theory isn't solid enough, when a Pokémon evolve it's permanently evolved, but when a Digimon is evolved it's not permanent, a Digimon can only stay in it's evolved form as long as it has energy left to do so, and when it runs out of energy it will de-evolve to it's lesser state, and if it over used it's energy it would de-evolve to it's baby state. You can compare the evolution of a Digimon with Super Sayian forms, for instance Goku can turn into a Super Sayian, but only for a limited time, when he runs out of power he will no longer be able to stay in his Super Sayian form.
Cartoons often have cross overs, but typically only in the same company relationships and ownerships such as Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, and Disney Channel. The only cross overs that we would ever see would probably be Nintendo franchises... Link, hmm...?
What if when Pokemon die, which they clearly do both in the game, anime, and manga, they leave this world and head over into the digital world as an egg. Since Pokemon can create eggs by breeding, the Pokemon are essentially being bred for Pokemon to die to become digimon.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who took one look at the mega evolutions and exclaimed "That Pokemon just digivolved!"
Please remember to Like the video!
thanks for reminding me
just constructive criticism but your videos are really slow paced and get boring if you could change this it would really help your vids plus it seems you don't know anything about Pokemon like the facts that Pokemon was released first and although mega evolution is sort of like digi-volving they did that to add more depth into the game as well as to increase the fun and strategy in online battling so in all points they are almost nothing alike furthermore your voice is dreary and dull lively up a little to make it more interesting.
Most of the time you'd repeat the same fact several times and you voice sounds lifeless most of the time.
exactly
Hahaha!
I am glad you enjoy them both, so do I!
Digimon the movie is one of my favourite movies of all time, still.
which one? there are like 7 movies
eurtan The one consisting of the first three japanese digimon films!
Consider the following:
At the end of Digimon 02, we know that digimon became very commonplace in the human world.
Forgot Other Password But here's the thing Digimon are asexual and they don't breed they just get reborn as they're just Data.
***** A good point, actually... The only response I could make to this is that maybe they absorbed data in the material world, and through multiple stages and mutations ended up able to sexually reproduce. It's not the most solid idea but it's the only way I can think of that could work.
It is just a theory after all.
***** *Touches indigo seer.*
It's not that I'm touchy, I just want to know what there being 151 Pokemon originally and the number increasing does to disprove my point.
Forgot Other Password Technically speaking Digimon are data they can't reproduce in a world which isn't Data.

??? o_-(my go on I'm "lisoning"
Vish Kal Digimon was made before pokemon.
Dracula Yonkai
Nope. The first season of pokemon was created in '98, and the franchise was made in '95.
First season of digimon came out in '99, while its first product was designed and released in '97.
This means in every aspect Pokemon came first.
dude they stated making digimon world (1) for playstation 1 in 1989 before i even was born. they started make pokemon 1991 the year i was born.
This video got me thinking about something else. What if the Mystery Dungeon franchise is the Digital World from Digimon before the Pokemon got corrupted by dying numerous times? All those Pokemon you meet are destined to become Digimon. The Lore behind Digimon does allow this to be.
🙀🙀🙀
Theory: Did Mew create Arceus? (Pokémon that created all others, Mew, and Pokémon God, Arceus)
Yes and no
Bill made the pokeball computer storage in the games. Maybe he made the digital world so the caught pokemon would have somewhere to go instead of waiting to be released from their pokeball again.
my dad built a 3d printer. he made a working ukulele
I find this one interesting and this could be true. Perhaps the pokemon changed shape and form in the future to adapt to their environment maybe
Actually pokemon do crap. Remember when Gary found fossilized pokemon dung?
Also in Pokemon 2000, Meowth's word for word quote regarding the 3 birds, "I'm afraid to hit by, their droppings".
Pokemon are pocket monsters
Digimon are digital monsters.
Digimon live in a digital parallel universe, that can be entered through a digital portal.
Pokemon live in a world with humans.
Digimon fight to save their world from evil digimon, and need a digidestined partner to evolve.
Pokemon fight for trainers who FORSE them to fight.
how can fainted pokemon use HM moves?
well they're still not dead....
but if they are passed out they can think but can not move
Commence Rant
i like digimon. i like it much more than pokemon but to hate it when people say digimon a remake of pokemon or that digmon is copying pokemon. like no if you sat down and watched the digimon anime and the pokemon anime you can clearly see that they are two completely series and should be treated on their own merits. i have seen and enjoyedd both for different reasons. pokemon made great games but the anime is just down right boring (now at least after like how many season).
4:27 YOU CAN PRINT THE SKY?!
Why can't Pokemon and Digimon fans get along?
;(
7:48 I had this theory ever since the premier of Digimon.
...........Your kidding me....right?.......did you run out of ideas..? .....were you sick.....? ....ok then..... whatever you want.... I won't complain...
When you talked about the Pokemon being put into digital environments... Maybe the Digimon protected that digital enviroment not to be seen by the Pokemon.
In a battle I doubt Charizard can beat Greymon :/
Well, I think it might be semi-legendary or something. lol
Dylan Rogers Legendaries???? I just said Greymon can beat Charizard lol
i had a theory bout connecting the kanto and kalos wars to this topic but i drew a blank 1/2 way XD
pokemon would become digimon cause i dont think charizard is gonna take wargreymon srry
Digimon was the first anime I'd ever watched as a child. XD
The first three seasons of Digimon are good and quite emotional, especially at the end of season three.
didn't like em i gave em 3 shots to impress and they failed all 3 times
Pokemon? Better written? You're free to have an opinion, but that is just wrong on so many levels. Digimon has an actual plot, pokemon doesn't.
***** Kind of. Ash wants to become a Pokemon Master, that's the plot;
But the show will be going on for fucking ever and he'll never become a Pokemon Master, all so the little fucking kids can "grow up" with someone who won't, so then their kids can watch the bullshit "Ashime" like their parents once did and be disappointed, because he NEVER FUCKING GROWS UP AND NEVER BECOME THE FUCKING CHAMPION!
+jordon meadows Actually Pokemon came out first:
The first Pokemon product to be released was Pokemon Red and Green for the Game Boy on February 27, 1996
The first Digimon product was the Digimon Virtual Pet it made it’s debut in Japan on June 26, 1997
But I enjoy both for what they are so no need to whine or complain bout which is better though as we all know Pokemon has the better sales all around.

+Red this is a period.
following the idea of poke balls and the box creating a digital environment, it would be interesting to think that so kind of event occurred in the real world and all pokemon were forced to stay in these environments and slowly evolved from the digital spaces into digimon
This theory is so fake they are 2 different series.
With similar adjectives, Seeing that they now have Mega Evolution
Which first started with Digimon. You can compare they similarities all day
Starting with the Evolution, Trainers,Monsters, Etc Etc So the Series aren't that different so to call the Theory fake is bad judgement , You'd need both creators to verify or disprove the theory
Fake or not a link is nice. Everything holds on by a thread when you really think about it.

Only thing I notice:
(If you put this in a game theory episode, give credit to me and Nathan Tomlinson)
also, the digimon speak english because people had become so mentally retarded that they could not understand the pokemon language.
Pokemon do crap. Look at Darumaka's pokedex entry.
very true
I know it's disturbing.
Well... Grimers are shitting other Grimers from a point of view...
Naru Funny you mention that. In the Pokemon Ranger Pokedex(Not sure which game) It references Muks' trails(like snails or slugs make) often spawn young Grimers.
and on one episode of the anime where they dig up fossils, gary got some "fossilized pokemon minure" (i cant spell)
You've lived through the struggle, when you played the first pokemon games and couldnt catch a pokemon in the wild because your box was full.
POKEMON > Digimon
Pokemon _game_ > Digimon game
Pokemon show < Digimon show
Sylis Vandomeur pokemon game > digimon game + digimon show
Ka Jacob
well digimon must be doing better if game freak has to steal digimon's mega evo gimmick.
next thing you know they will steal their digimerge gimmick where a few can merge together .. ooooh wait they already did that.
Then next thing you know they will steal the ultimate digi evo.
I don't even like digimon and had to look up most of the information.
now I feel dumb.
Ka Jacob
why is that?
Pokemon were originally based on capsule monsters you get at those gachi machines in Japan (thus explaining the idea of the pokeball), digimon are just based on digital pets but more advanced with american feel, design, and action
Capsule Monsters?
Time for Capemon to take the scene!
I really like these videos. Keep it up proto!
Thank you
50000 subs proto as I was watching this video! Well done! Keep up the great work!!
Thank you so much
*But Proto!!* Digimon do not evolve to mega only from the reason of the bonding with humans...
I wonder; what do you think of a Pokemon and Digimon crossover?
Simple. Here's a plot for the crossover. Pokemon get sent to the digital world, or rather, the storage system. Too many are sent. Pokemon go crazy. The digital world becomes unbalanced. The digidestined arrive to fix it.
Okay, Also I would like to know where would the digidestined meet up with Ash and the gang?
My god if I could challenge the Elite Four with VenomMyotismon, I would be stuck with a total trollface for the rest of my life XD
Here's something I thought about yesterday; what if, not only pokémon are digimon, but duel monsters are pokémon and digimon?
Pokemon are not transferred through computer because in the anime it states when more than six Pokemon have been caught the others are sent to your professor.
in the game they r on the computer system
I don't really have much to say about the theroy, I just admire the fact that you actually answer comments.
I try hard to
That's a really good and solid point.
In Pokemon X and Y when you receive Lucario or Xerneas, you can pick whether or not you keep said pokemon and which pokemon get sent to the PC.
maybe if more of those universes combine, maybe it will become something like poképark, a zone for every kind of landscape
mega whatever is just taken from digimon.. that just shows that they are running out of ideas if they have to take stuff from a second class show(it did after all come on after pokemon and riding Pokemon's coat tails).
a bad idea on game freak's part.
Aru Akise Right.Tamagotchi were first, but people seem to forgett that.
Aru Akise
No it wasn't, tamagotchi was but it is not digimon as we are talking about the digimon franchise not tamagotchi which is its own entity.
Actually both were. Digimon was created as a by product of Tamaguichi as Tamaguichi was seen was more appealing to girls. Digimon and Pokemon both got their anime releases around the same time in Japan however.
Plus the MegaTen franchise created or was the first to use/think of the idea around 85-86. The more you know.
I always thought of it as when you store it in the PC it goes to Prof. Oak, or elm or whoever
It is possible that Pokemon can become Digimon in the future. But, not until it's very far into the future. The time periods for Digimon is more advanced and more into the years compared to Pokemon. So it can be assumed that they can be decades apart. A mutatuion, or a distortion in the data of the Pokemon while in the PC, can make the Pokemon change into Digimon and affect the traits they have.
imagine devimon in the pokemon world they would probably shit themselves
there's a slight problem with the digimon terminology the digimon Levels had there names chaned upon the English release:
In Training Was Originally Baby
Rookie Was Originally Child
Champion Was Originally Adult
Ultimate Was Originally Perfect
and Mega Was Originally Ultimate
real things can be digitized because in 2012 they developed the technology of teleportation. Using a computer they broke down up to a single photon and a computer read the information then reconstructed it in another place.
In short they digitized something then put it back together.
i think its the other way around
with pokemon being able to be stored digitaly they were originally in the digital world and eventually as time went on they left the digital world and became more general to everyone (not like in the digimon anime where only the digidestineds get them) and then became pokemon
monster rancher are ancient pokemon and Digimon are iterations of the data created by pokemon taking on a "dream form" to subconsciously manifest itself in the vr
So Pokemon and Digimon takes place in same universe ?
If Pokemon don't poop (aside from Daramuka), what happens to the food they eat?
I think the next one should be: "why do pokemon exist?"
OMG LOL I was using a 3D printer from XYZ Printing as i watched this to make a capo for my guitar XD
So out of all the main game protagonist trainers, who is the best, the strongest?
speaking of digital stuff, I have a theory about ash not aging. what if in the porygon episode, something went wrong and ash is still somewhat digitized even in the real world, which prevents him from physically aging. that's my ash age theory. it's possible, right?
Here is a quick fact. In Pokemon you can sometimes see animals. Not very often because animals are almost extinct at the time
6:49-6:58 The first and only time that Pokémon ripped something from Digimon.
You can also call Pokemon 'Digimon' cause they are 'video game or computer characters' like they call them Pokemon in their world but in our world where we see them in our Game Boys and DS screens they possibly could be called Digimon, due to them not being real but virtual videogame creatures.
BUT PROTO!!! POKEMON AND DIGIMON ARE MADE BY TWO SEPARATE COMPANIES!!!!!!!
2:17 Porygon is the original Aegislahsh! o:
I call the stuff from the balls "plasma" (please don't kill me for that and how Team Plasma has the reverse connection to catching), so that doesn't exactly work.
What if Pokemon exists in the future of Digimon?
Where the dream of a world where Humans And Digimon can coexist was finally achieved? :O
Finally Digimon being remembered
Does my amendment to his theory stand for itself?
hey protomario i was wondering if you could discuss pokemon language how is it that they understand us but we cant understand them?
in the game, i'd assume that its the same way we can teach dogs tricks but have no idea what there barking at
well whit dogs (and other animals) they dont acctualy recognize what we are saying the just recognize that this sound means this action like how we recognize that the alarm of our clocks means to get up
yeah so if pokemon were real we'd have to train them to do thesetricks like we'd have to give them treats when they se water gun or something
well dont forget that the pokemon could be more inteligent than our worlds animals so the could understand language
no doubt they would be able to understandit if trained to, like how some animals can somehat understand like doplhens, but wild pokemon would most likely have no idea what we're saying
Was the pokeball made in kalos
In the credits it shows whst look likes a ginal design for a pokeball
I have a theory how or why are pokemon placed at level 50 during challenge areas like subways and the battle frontier
Professor oak is a mad scientist and turned all the animals into Pokemon
I heard a theory that digimon world was modern earth and some digidestined failed causing the digital world an real world to merge creating the pokemon world. if it wasn't for the different franchise owners this could have made a lot of sense. even explains the mew arcus discrepancy and why ash never ages.
Pokemon do take a s@$t, but it is not show but hinted, but digimon shows them taking a s@$t.
are digimon pokemon? what i got from this:
the anime doesn't really tell, the games don't really tell. so when they become transferred to a PC box (like your money) they become digital. and so therefore the digimon could be an alternate universe
Are Starter Pokemon Endangered species and what happens to the ones that don't get picked.
Digimon that are not with the Digidestin stay in their digivolved forms, Devimon, Etemon, and Myotismon are good examples.
