    Swap out the meatloaf for 1/2 pork tenderloin, chicken breast, fish fillet, sausage, etc., chunk up the potato, mix up the vegetables and you have how I use my air fryer most every night of the week. Feeling fancy, marinate the protein. Change up the seasonings on the vegetables. Perfect for cooking for one. Looking forward to trying the Meatloaf and freezing some into meatballs. I have done Swedish Meatballs in my rotation.

    My favorite easy meatloaf is approx. 1.25 lb ground beef. 1 extra large (or 2 med.) eggs, and 1 box of savory Stove Top Stuffing. The small bread pieces are uniform and perfect. Anything you add after these 3 ingredients is fine, and I put a mixture of ketchup, W sauce, and honey on top towards the end. If you divide that up into quarters, it should be a good sized serving.

      Appreciate your video's,as got an air fryer,fr a fr, for my Bday, few yrs. ago. Been wondering how to use, w/raw goods( which are better, for you). Less time, cooking, also,better for you. Win, win, and a winner,(who knows how to do this)? Food's too expensive, to experiment, with, now! Tx, for your help, w/this!
      p.s., was scared of microwave, at first. Only bad food prep, is still pan fry meat, so, better health, always good!

      This, is soo helpful! Trying to stop last bad habit, cooking!?
      Pan frying meat, since 8 y o ,cooking for family. Was intimidated, when 1st microwaving, as well! This is a better move, as less time, to cook, and more food value preserved, by that less exposure, to heat! Heat is better than magneto generated mi -cro waves, I can't help, but think! Hope, I didn't post 2x's, but ??! Don't know, what happened, sending?! thanks, again!dc

    Thank you for another great video I just needed how to make patties and you answered that question perfectly. Just one thing as a Brit…. here it’s pronounced “Wuster” sauce - sure someone will argue that point however that’s literally how they say it in the Lee persons factory where it’s made! Lol. Maybe it’s American thing pronouncing it that way, but I live near where it made, it’s an English thing we ignore the shire altogether. Crazy I know! :)

    • @empoweredcooks
      @empoweredcooks  Рік тому +2

      Hey there! I have never heard of canned potatoes! I assume they are already somewhat soft, and it's just a matter of heating them up? I suppose the first thing I'd try is just putting them in a single layer and throwing on some garlic and onion powder, maybe a little pepper? My gut says 380 for 8-10 minutes. I'd probably throw some oil on top for the last 4 min or so? If you invent something marvelous, let me know!

      I'd say you could make some nice potato croquettes with a cheese sauce. Mash up canned or cooked 'taters with some panko crumbs, an egg white, S&P, fresh herbs, and roll it in panko, spritz generously with a good oil and into the AF. Make a microwave sauce with some milk, shredded or soft cream/cheese and butter. Right before serving beat in the egg yolk and a little lemon juice vigorously, and pour over the croquettes.
      Nice pan sauteed in butter, which is how I've done it. Top with add-ons and garnishes on hand.
      Fresh potatoes are going to give a better flavor and texture, the canned ones being necessarily waterlogged. I nuke a fresh one in a baggy with a little water, about 6 min. The skin peels right off.

    Some comments:
    - For hamburger recipe, add some garlic salt to tortilla after spraying it with oil for more flavor
    - For meatloaf, instead of ketchup, mustard, etc, I use a spaghetti sauce (tomato & basil my fav) and dried herbs.
    For glaze, mix spaghetti sauce & honey in 50/50 proportion. Less work and more consistency :-)
    Another recipe:
    In round cake pan, put a flour tortilla, coat with butter spray, sprinkle with garlic salt & onion powder. Cook during preheat cycle to crisp up
    Scramble 3 large eggs, add favorite omlet fillings pour into pan, then cook at 300 for 8-10 minutes.
    Also thinking of trying to make a tart: put tortilla in pan, spay, add sweetner, Pre-heat cook it, make your greek yogart/egg custard & fruit for the filling

      @empoweredcooks  Рік тому

      Oh those are fun ideas! A few Q's...
      Is the tortilla a bit bigger than the pan, so it folds up more like a pie crust? Or is it more flat, like a pizza crust?
      Sounds like you've already cooked the eggs?
      And if you try the "tart" please let me know how it goes!

      @@empoweredcooks I use a toritlla slightly bigger than the cake pan (about 8' diameter) so have a side crust. This allows you to wedge it into the pan. Otherwise is would be sucked into the fan when blind baking it.

    I found that my Cosori 5.8 air fryer does not have the same temperature as prescribed by the recipes. I almost burned my chicken with a time of 30 minutes. The next time I cooked chicken thighs bone in and skin on I lowered the time to 20 minutes, used the shake button and checked to see how done the chicken was. I cooked wings last night and I think 16-18 minutes would have been better as there is less meat on the bones compared to the thighs. I am practicing on each item like scrambled eggs, Smores, etc. and I think I have to lower the amount of time I cook.

    Hi, I wonder if you could answer a question for me.
    I've been eying the cosori pro LE 5.0 qts and the 4qts model used in your video.
    Now you would think the 4 qts has a smaller footprint, but according to amazon and the cosori website, 5qt is 10.7 x 10.8 x 11.9 in, while the 4qt takes up more space at 13.6 x 10.8 x 12.8 in - is this actually true? Thanks.

    You should try an crunch wrap supreme in the air fryer

      Is that just adding a corn tostada and omitting the veggies?

    How do you like the tray vs a basket? It seems like you can't just dump the food out, or you will be pouring out grease as well. Also, what about the controls more on top of the unit? My current air fryer which is being recalled, sits about 4 1/2 inches from the upper cabinet. With controls on top, I'd have to pull the unit out so far that there wouldn't be support for the basket when I would pull it out. There is no island as you have.

      I am torn... there are pros and cons to both! I did a video here talking about my top 4 fave air fryers right now and what I like and don't like about them. AND I do talk about the basket issue. ua-cam.com/video/wHRB5tvLPUQ/v-deo.html. This particular air fryer is smaller than the one that was recalled. (Assuming yours is the 5.8 qt?)

      @Fabulessly Frugal Mine is the 3.7qt. I'm hoping they will replace with a 5.8qt. I would prefer a basket like the one I have.

    Hi Cathy from UK. Just to help you get your tongue around that awkward word 'Worcestshire Suace', we in the North East of England just say either "Wuster-shire" sauce or even just "Wuster" sauce. Hope that helps. Thanks for the recipes.

      Americans will always have trouble with this word. There is a county in my state, spelled like the sauce,pronounced WORS-chester.(Because there is also a Dorchester county next door. ) People call the sauce Worstesheer, Wooster, Where’s-your-sister sauce, Worst Name in the World Sauce and other variations. I gave up and just call it W sauce.

    Why do you put the potato in microwave? Do you have to do this or just put in air fryer?

    • @empoweredcooks
      @empoweredcooks  Рік тому

      It is just "par-boiling" the potato so it cooks faster. You can do it from the start in the air fryer, but it will take closer to 40ish minutes.
