What an adventure this first part is, as I travel with my brother in law. Now incase you give me a hard time for giving him a hard time about his driving, you must know 2 things:
1. I have serious control issues with other people driving the ranger, and,
2. He hasn't driven a car, let alone a big rig for 2 years on account that he i a biker - someones gotta keep em on their toes.
A massive thank you to the support from brands, products and shops, and you, the subscriber.

Enjoy this overlanding adventure in Zambia, episode one. Smash the thanks button and help me get the ranger sorted out. Thanks legends 🙌
Gotto lov Reece, he reminds me of the die hard champ, man looks like a man of Sparta, love the champ very resourceful and helpful, lekke.
Awesome! You are welcome to zambia.
I used to think supercars and luxury lifestyles were the creams of life.. but ever since I came across the Overlanding content I must say this is the life nothing can top this. One day I'll get myself a 4x4 and go out there! God wills it.🙏🏿❤😭
I watch this episode again and ja out of this world content, love the drone footage and music. This is my number one channel cheers Ryan
Hey mate. Is your snorkel just a aftermarket snorkel with a iron man Ram head? Love your videos mate. And the rig is beautiful 👌. From and Irish fella living in Australia 👍
Hi Gareth, it’s a full Ironman snorkel. Not sure if it is still in production for the ranger 2016 model though?
@4x4ventures_southafrica I will have a shop around mate. Thanks alot! 👌
“Mosquito repellent at Tops” 😂😂😂. Great episode Ryan.
Thank you Max, and glad to hear that you picked up what I was putting down 😂😂 my wife still doesn’t get it 🤟
What a great adventure. We are doing a guided self-drive trip to Zambia visiting Liuwa Plains & Kafue NP in November 2024. After watching your video we can't wait for the tour. Many thanks to Ryan for making this video.
Love watching your adventures. Born and raised on a farm in Zimbabwe and still travel back to South Africa annually (Kruger is my fav place to be and our road trip through Botswana and around Namibia was second to none). I'm blessed to now call beautiful Australia home (25 years), however, my heart and soul remain forever bound to the magical land of my birth. Sometimes when I'm feeling a bit down, I kickback and join you for a bit, reminiscing my own african bush adventures and road trips and going down memory lane with you. Thank you.
Ryan, you smashed this episode! Absolutely brilliant. The camera work and quality can't be beaten. I loved the banter between you and Reece as well.
Thanks!
Thank you Sifiso. Really appreciate your support 👌
This is great viewing content…thank you 😊
Spectacular sunset wow!!
Thank you for this Epic Adventure. You inspire me to work hard so I can build an overland vehicle
Great content. Watching from livingstone Zambia 🇿🇲

The overlanding setup in this video is a dream come true for any outdoor enthusiast. What a breathtaking way to explore!
Wow🙌🏾 … what an adventure Ryan.. thanks for taking us with… amazing cinematography 👌🏾
Awesome Kagiso, and my pleasure mate. Glad you are enjoying the adventure and the show. Magic mate 🤙
For years I have been searching on UA-cam trying to see if there is anything video that showcases how beautiful Zambia is and I couldn't find any not until I watched this masterpiece of a video. A video that is straight to the point, saying things as they are. Today you have gained a UA-cam follower. Keep up the good work ❤ 🇿🇲
I have loved watching these overland adventures. Makes my heart full but yet so sad, I miss the bush! Please add some information about the smell of the land before and after rain or just if you smell something different. Nobody understands the smell of the bush until you have lived it. Thanks for the memories!.
Really enjoyed your video, cant wait for the rest of the series
like the Kenneth Guy, happy for his promotion. awesome show as usual.
Amazing i always enjoy your camera quality the view is awsome....🎉

Awesome episode. great work! Safe travels.😄
G'day from Australia, how lekker ey. Enjoying watching your adventure videos. Africa looks amazing and you do an amazing job in bringing us wonderful footage of your incredible continent. Love the kitted out ute (ok bakkie), had a Ranger myself and I'm enjoying you put it through the toughest terrain. Keep trucking, Ryan..
Thank you legend. Much appreciated and don’t forget that it is a 4 part series, with 1 still to be edited. I’ll see you at the next one, and remember, stay schmiko 😂 wrong context but you get my drift. Lekker 🤙
Woow this is so beautiful other part of Africa 🌍 thanks exploring our Continent
Thank you, and what an adventure in exploration 🤙
Oh wow, so many memories. Yellow bread YES! I loved that stuff. 'Bite that orange' what a great quote. On many of my old overloading routes Zambia was more a transit country between Malawi and Zim' so we often pushed through it quickly. But on a couple of occasions we were able to chill out and take in some of its high lights. South Luangwa being one. At least the parts of it that were accessible given the rains. Thank you for taking us on your little adventure, I've loved it.
Brilliant. Glad to create the memories mate and thank you for sharing. South luangwa is more, is in my radar. Zambia is incomplete and has so much to offer as with all the other countries higher up. What an adventure still awaits
Big fan of your channel,I like what you do.
Magnificent. Watching from Canada. Looking forward to episode 2. I am old 83 and watching your You Tube lets me feel I'm there.
Lived in Zambia in the 60"s so really appreciate your adventures.
This is good. Very good can’t wait for the next
We got stuck in the sand in Liuwa plains a few times. It is one place I would go with another vehicle when I go again.
Nice, love it ... I do agree with you, crossing into Zambia with a foreign vehicle is a tedious process.
Great one Ryan.
Thank you Michael for your support legend. Always appreciated 🤙
Great one. Wonderfully filmed and edited, love it.

No worries Goose. Always good to hear it. See you at the next one 🙌
Great program - have been following your overlanding trips for quite a while, sometimes with Edward Bath, and you are making great strides forward. Very informative for those of us who want to plan and do some more African overlanding!
Amazing episode, cant wait for the next one. 🥰
I've never been to Zambia, but I've already seen many videos, including by overlanders. The landscapes, the towns and the way the people wear it looks just like in the southern Mozambique.
Another great episode Ryan, Hopefully one day i will bump into you on your epic adventures in Zim.

Good day Mr Ryan. Watching in Serowe. This contains perfect images and they are beautiful. I loved that footage of the mighty Zambezi. What's the original color of the Ranger?
Thank you mate. Original colour is white
The drone shots are awesome in this. Why did that stop in episode 2?
Beautiful video as always, editing is tops! Nat Geo standards, if I was @FordSouthAfrica I'd jump on board to sponsor this cause it shows the capability of their product, well done mate !
The 'outdoor sleeper killed me'🤣😅😂
Well done, Ryan. another amazing video series can't wait for the next episode.
Thank you mate 🙌
Hi. Great video, can’t wait for the next one. Liuwa is now at the top of my to visit list ( I’ve just returned from South Luangwa) along with Cohora Basa.

Great video as always man, Loved the sand driving shots!! All the best for your future travels👍🏾
Thank you Thabz 🤙
Guys, thank you so much for the epic video and content. I love your shows, I watch these over and over. Your videos have inspired me to join in and start my over landing adventures. Can you advise me on how to start ....anything you can advise, from the rig and so on.🙏
Thank legend and glad to have you on board. Any reliable 4x4 is a start. The rest will happen. Tent, cooler box and a destination. Do it and go from there. The advice is to just do it. You will thank me later legend.
I am really enjoying your videos. Impressive that you film and edit it all with no crew.
😂😂😂 it isn’t easy is all I’m going to say, but thank you for enjoying and the realisations and good to hear that you enjoy the show
Hi Ryan,
loved this first episode and I am looking forward to seeing episode 2.
I am in the process of planning an epic journey myself and found a lot of common ground on the route you chose. great to have some referrals on places to stay.
Our plans are to do a trip starting in the middle of October next year. We will start from Maun, run up the west side of the Okavango into Namibia and run along through the Caprivi crossing into Zambia at Katima Mulilo, then retracing your steps up to Liuwa.
My main concern however is the distances you guys cover daily.
Do you have any recommendations on places worth stopping over for an extra night ,
rather than pushing through for another 100 or 200 km?
hope to hear back from you.
ps. Keep up the great work. We love watching your adventures.
cheers from Norway.
Great opening episode. Botswana always great. A part of Zambia few people get to, might be the roads😀. The filming was great, some interesting wildlife. Seems like you had fun with your brother in law. Can't wait for episode 2. Being a Patreon supporter makes us feel part of the action. 🇿🇲
Thank you Doug for your support on Patreon and the channel. It is highly appreciated mate. Yes, a very great first part to this adventure and just fortunate to be able to share it with you. Episode 2 steps up a couple of gears and I can’t wait to take you on the adventure 🤙
It was a lovely episode and you two are a great double act.
Thank you Christopher. We salute you bud 🙌
Jip, try packing for 4! Our Cruiser very heavy then.
The GVM was forgotten when it came to loading the “mosquito repellent “
At 25.12 is that plume of water vapor off to your right Mosi ao Tunya??
Hey Ryan 👋🏻 it’s James and Ellie 🙂 we’ve been in a hiatus recently.
We’ve just came back from your beautiful country a week ago 😭 you said we’d enjoy it ages ago when we commented and you were right it’s the best place we’ve ever been too and we’ve been to a few countries. We did our safari in Marataba near Marakele NP. Now we know why you have so much appreciation for the bush and the wildlife wow 🤯 blew our minds.
We’ve been catching up and last watched before this one went out of your Zimbabwe solo trip, sorry your fridge mount broke and you had to cut it short dude.
Also we 💙 your videos your our fave out of the guys you travel with 🤫 don’t tell Ed and Chris lol 🤭. This trip to Zambia is awesome we love your videography and your effort for the voiceovers and your edit it’s class it’s like watching a Nat Geo documentary 👌🏼. The time flies watching your videos honestly. You made us laugh a lot during this poor Reece and his driving abilities 🤣.
Hope you’ve enjoyed your weekend we won’t be in a hiatus and you’ll here more from us more now 🙂 take care and look forward to the next one 😎
Hi guys, WOW, what a fantastic comment. It really humbled both myself and my wife. We really appreciate your down to earth and authentic comms. So glad you had a great trip and yes, the wilderness in Southern Africa really is so so special, and, we sincerely appreciate you guys coming out and supporting our country and the national parks. It is very very encouraging to hear and uplifts my spirits for great times to come for so many others. The wild is a bug and a great one to be able to share with loved ones.
😂😂 Ed and Chris are absolute legends and like myself, are just happy to receive your support.
Next time you are here, reach out and we can meet up. Hopefully my Merch will finally be done and sorted.
Have a fantastic week ahead legends and see you at the next one.
Rgds
Ryan
Aww absolutely that would be epic 🤩 we already to plan to go back in December next year. We have you on Instagram too so we’ll shout out. Can’t wait for more episodes and also to see how you changed the colour scheme on the Ford 🤓. Stay safe and have a lovely week.
