Looks like a great trip. Props for continuing the adventure even with all the issues. Easy to criticize from the comfort of your arm chair but it’s a different story when you’re out there doing it. Well done 👍
Am zambian and live in the west banks of Zambezi, had the creziest experience of this terrain on alot of motor bikes; had i the opportunity to join in on this adventure i wound on a motor bike. Great content thanks for visiting Zambia a beautiful Zambia
Great Video! Loved it - thank you. Next time you travel through a tsetse fly area, get a small metal bucket & tie it to the back of your vehicle, fill it with very dry Elephant dung and light it, get it smouldering, take some spare along with you and let it burn as you drive. The movement of your car disturbs the fly and they follow it, but, the smell of the burning makes them fly away as they think there is a fire! Has worked fantastically for me in the past in many places. Another thing, next time, go North from Livingstone and enter Kafue at the Dumdumwezi gate and drive up through Kafue, the Southern section will not disappoint and the Ngoma Teak Forest is an incredible place to explore. The road from Liv to Kalomo is good and from there to the gate is also good gravel - just be very careful of the speed bumps which are not well signposted and can hurt the vehicle if you are going too fast. You can also wild camp in the South of the park & I'm sure Steve Smith will let you camp at Nanzhila on the way North. There is fuel at Itezhi-Tezhi but the road North from there to the M9 is atrocious.
Thank you for the advice absolutely fantastic nuggets here. Much appreciated legend and hope to see you out there. Have a good one and thank you for you me support 🤙 hopefully I can apply your suggestions in the not Tok distant future
I been watching your videos quite a while. But never comment on it. Let me tell u that i love wacthing your show. What a great video quality. It's not less than netflix show. Keep going. Love from india,
Thank you for this and welcome to your first comment. Really appreciate your support and kind words. Glad you enjoy the show and the adventure. NETFLIX, I wish. Maybe one day
I joined the family a few days ago and with every episode I am catching up on I am still wondering who is the best driver though I can tell Ryan is the best. driving and shooting at the same time is really a great gift. The content you are giving us is like we are with you on those trips. And on the other hand Reece my good sir, you drive and I always see you cooking, removing the flies on the roof, mounting some shaking geysers, and under the car. I totally love these guys, thank you so much I am inspired to have some fun traveling as well
Fantastic Andries. We appreciate your support and kind words. Glad you are enjoying the show and the adventures mate. Thank you mate. It means more to us than you will ever know. Have a great new year legend
Thanks Ryan, enjoyed the video, great camera work! Your Lusaka experience is one for the books! We did a similar trip last year to LZNP, also stayed ar Mvuu for fishing, did 2 trips into LZNP, have to confess I think it is the most beautiful African Park, higher rated than Mana Pools that is across the river. We drove the south west portion up to close to the Mwambashi camp road
Ryan this has to be one of your episodes that I have enjoyed the most, your photography and editing is coming along in leaps and bounds. Your channel is one of the few channels that inspire me to "keep trucking" as you call it and get my rig finished and ready for my return trip to base camp Elundu. Well done and keep up the great work. Looking forward to your next offering!
As a Zambian away from home i get very giddy whenever i see an overlander in Zambia, especially on routes I've been taking since I was 5. Keep up the good work man, this is Lekker!
Just admire the tenacious spirit you have Ryan in these adventures. I know it's a hell lot of work driving and shooting also encounter some array of adversities but at the end of the day you succeed. Great work bro, keep well & keep being adventurous! Its inspiring😊
Thank you Alex. Adventuring africa mate, what an amazing place. The adversity, the challenges all blend in with the good stuff, and damn the good stuff can be really good if you let it. Just privileged bud to be able to share the adventure and inspire mate. I’ll see you at the next one 🙌
Wow. Great video. We were looking at Kafue, maybe next time. Sorry about the cv joint, at least you were able to continue. We would have to say that this video has the most amazing visuals. Sure Zambia deserves credit, but your use of the light was outstanding. Some great wildlife shots, magic. Can't wait to see the next one.
Thank you Charles, and this is a very easy game to fall in love with, especially if the adventure bug bites. Expensive but so so worth it in my opinion. See you at the next one
Great episodes. I am an ardent fan of all your programmes. Could you please add a little salt and pepper to the videos by 1. show us how you prepare the food you will be eating 2. Put the titles of the music you will be playing. I would like the title of the song you are playing when putting pressure on the tyres in Zambia 3. show us your engagement with people along the roads, for example, when you bought the magwenya. Good job!!!
Another fantastic video Ryan, Reece and his tetsi flies, you South Africans make me laugh😂. Beautiful scenery and superbly filmed, Zambia is another beautiful country like Zimbabwe. One day I will travel through Africa 🙏. Enjoyed this one very much and will watch Ep 3 next. G'day from Australia mates, glad you got your bakkie fixed lekker ey. Great work 👏,cheers, Derek
Thank you Derek. Much appreciated legend and glad you are enjoying the series. Yes, africa is a very special place, and there is still so much to go see and visit. Enjoy, and thank you for the kind words and as always, stay Lekker mate. Cheers bud Ryan 🤙
What a cracking episode Ryan and kudos for not giving up when you had the mechanical issue. We are loving the banter between you both and are looking forward to the next episode.
As an overlander on an IFS rig always make sure you have as spare a complete front drive shaft or at least a cv joint and a high angle cv boot. Again mate, get back to KM3s and get rid of those chinese tyres. Finally, i really enjoy your work. Lots of love from Kenya.
Good day Mr Ryan. Watching here in Botswana serowe, great adventure this episode reminds me of that video you went to Zimbabwe with Bruce and John.. this is great
What a GREAT episode -- thanks for showing us the magic of Zambia -- so good to see nature prospering . BTW -- at 1:11:02 you said that you could hear the Elephant's digestive system working -- Question is -- do you think he could hear your digestive system emptying itself 😆🤣 ha ha . Thanks for a fantastic show Ryan ! ! !
Ryan, fabulous fabulous ! Everything from the places you take us, your production, editing, etc etc. You deserve well over 3 million subscribers. Good luck to you and Reece, and many successful years ahead
Thank you for taking the time to make such an awesome video. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the trip. Brings back memories of my trip to Africa years ago.
Oh how I yearn for this. My mom was born in Zambia (aka Northern Rhodesia) in 1942. We left Rhodesia in 1976 immigrating to Canada (BC). This is on my bucket list. Yes, I am chewing on a stick of my own biltong while watching, my heritage is not forgotten. Thanks for putting this together. Stunning.
Epic episode Ryan, just magic! Those shots of the Kafue river that make it look like a golden river of steaming lava....just unbelievable. And you should definitely get the word "Absolutely" tattooed somewhere 😜
A fantastic episode and we thank you for the time and effort into producing it. One of your best yet. Here in the UK, we know we will never get to go on such a trip but with you guys, it feels we have experienced it. Thank you so much. On countdown for 21 nights in the Kruger this November. Greetings from the UK.
Thanks for sharing, great content, as always. Now, just so you know, tsetse flies are attracted to the colour blue, follows therefore that the towel on the headrest ain’t doing you any favours. Just saying! Keep on trucking.
Awesome episode Ryan! The videography and photography are as always .. amazing and top tier. Can't wait to see the next episode, thanks so much for sharing the adventures with us! Cheers Aidan
Awesome man, no worries. Yes, DO IT. A very different place to experience and a place that makes me want to go back to. Loved every minute of this adventure. Wished the gents were there, Ed and Chris. So worth it
A great trip indeed. That’s fantastic mate and what a spot Mvuu lodge is, a place I’ll definitely be back to, maybe when the tigers are on the bite. Only a pleasure. Keep well and see you at the next one
Ryen, this was amazing, glad u enjoyed my homeland of Zambia, think u will understand now why i call it proper Africa. Once asked u how u cope in unfenced areas, also think u will jow get me. They used to spray cars for tsetze, apparently not any more. Those flies with eggs could have been putse, we always had to iron everything, the eggs hatch and get under your skin!!! I m painting a wonderful picture 😂😂😂. Roads in the 70s were just like SA!!! We were once charged by an ellie in hwange, still going back tho!!! Cant wait till u hit Zim
Thanks Nola, yes, it is an amazing place without a doubt. We loved the people, the places and the rawness of Zambia. It is fantastic. I hope they were t putse flies. Geez that would be a big pro blew. I am very familiar with the putse fly. Zimbabwe is up next and, there’s a part in there that will bring it all back to you. Thank you Nola. I appreciate your comment. Have a great week ahead and I’ll see you in two weeks time
Dont know what the look like just know they lay loads of eggs, lets hope not. U never said what chirundu road was like? I remember it being hot as hell!!!
We drove it at night so it wouldn’t be a fair comment to make. Seemed okay. Few potholes and allot of twists and turns. Would love to have captured it though from the air. Next time
I wonder if there is a way to double/triple like this ... this episode was almost as an installment of a movie series .... your photography is amazing .. Like the dynamic between you and your brother in law ... I must say that you kept it really cool during the time that your CV was broken ...... Again thank you for sharing this amazing trip ...🤙
What an epic episode 💙 watching these go so quick. Glad you shouldered on despite the issues with the ranger but glad you got it sorted ☑️. Also the hippo near your camp did you guys get terrified 😅 we would run for the hills I know how their temper can be. And them painted dogs with the snare round it’s mouth 🥺 I still can’t believe people go and do this to these magnificent animals it’s breaks our heart. But good thing people like us love them hey 💙. Haha them Tsetse flies isit true if you have an open wound they’d lay their eggs in it 🤢. Heard they’re nasty things them flies too. Also we waited last week for your video to drop and was sad that one didn’t go up but not it was worth the wait man. We love your videos hope you’ve had an Lekker (hope that’s the right word) weekend and week coming up can’t wait for the next one my friend 😎
Awesome James and Ellie. I love your comments and support 🙌🙌 adventure is all about soldiering on. I think in tough times it’s when an adventure is at its best. The tsetse fly has a nasty bite that can be quite itchy and flare up, and is a tough tough little nuisance. Didn’t help with getting certain shots, 😂 Have a lekker week ahead and I’ll see you at the next one. It takes me a solid two weeks to create these episodes, so, I’ll see you legends then. Cheers guys 🍻
Tie the “maxtrax” to the back of your vehicle. You can then keep going , dragging them behind you after you used them till you get to harder ground. Saves you the walk back to retrieve them.
Thank you thank you thank you Peter. It means so much to me right now. I’m in a world of trouble with the ranger costs, and you guys have just made it that little bit easier. Thank you from a very grateful place 🙌🙌
