Did Scottie Scheffler Just Surpass Tiger Woods?
In 2000, Tiger Woods had one of the greatest sports years in golf history. His 9 tournament victories and 3 major titles cemented him as the best player in the world, and most people thought it would never be topped. Coach sounds like he has a lot to answer for. Pushing him a lot and doing 12 hour shifts sounds horrendous. Thiem is a lovely guy and definitely deserved more. He worked really hard and should have won more than one grand slam.

Its weird how this can happen in golf. Because its not as physically demanding, I eould consider golf to be almost more like playing music. Theres a technique and a rythm that you have to find. Unless you got some series back injury or something, as long as you practice, that technique and rythm should stay. You dont hear about musicians all of a sudden losing their ability to play. Unless they got injured somehow.

Good video, bud! I think there's a few contributing factors for why Dominic Thiem fell off the map, so to speak. He won his first grand slam during the height of the pandemic, which was a really AWFUL time to be a professional tennis player. The world of pro tennis was kind of a mess from early 2020=22 and it wound up derailing quite a few players. Just look at Jeremy Chardy for instance.

we kind of got used to players still dominating the sport of tennis way after their 30th birthday but that s to be seen more as an exception then a rule, and is possible only thanks to a super careful handling of the body through the years... Thiem 's game was all physical force and mental fire... I would have been a miracle to see him stay at the highest levels in his thirties...

Dream Team players talked about the importance of team chemistry and cohesion. Isaiah Thomas and Bad Boy`s play made Jordan, Bird, and virtually every other players uncomfortable in the league, and team chemistry would have suffered had he been on the Dream Team. This is why Chuck Daly, the coach of the Dream Team and also the coach of the bad boys, was not in favor of Isiah joining the Dream Team.

The problem with a wrist injury to Dominic is that his style of play with aggressive ground strokes with a one handed BH puts so much stress on the wrist. Once you have a serious wrist injury, that's pretty much it.

I hate the title of this piece on Dominic Thiem. it has been unlucky, but there are plenty of athletes who have suffered similar health related problems that have ended their career. I think he had a gorgeous career and it just didn’t last as long as he or we would’ve liked..

The problem with this video is that it's inconsistent. At one point, you say he'll never be the same again. And then, 20 seconds later, you acknowledge that he won the Open Championship the year after his meltdown. You need to rethink how you frame your narratives.

As of today, Rafel Nadal, one of the greatest in the history of all sports, is ranked 158th. Federer was 97th at his retirement. Time happens to everyone and everything. I'm not sure why people are so surprised. Most people would be blessed to have Thiem's career. Worth millions, retired at 30.

Not at all comparable. Federer and Nadal were both still at the pinnacle well beyond their prime years. Thiem lost his prime years. The better comparison would be Murray who broke down in 2017 after pushing himself to become #1 in 2016. He lost his best years and probably would’ve won another few majors if he’d stayed healthy in 2017/18/19.

I also thought he'd be one of the successors of the 'big 3', but such is life. When you're standing 10-15 feet behind the baseline to hit a one-handed backhand, it eventually catches up with you. That takes too much energy and puts too much stress on your body, especially your shoulders. Thiem simply wore out. He's still young, so he will definitley find something useful to do with his life.
