Its weird how this can happen in golf. Because its not as physically demanding, I eould consider golf to be almost more like playing music. Theres a technique and a rythm that you have to find. Unless you got some series back injury or something, as long as you practice, that technique and rythm should stay. You dont hear about musicians all of a sudden losing their ability to play. Unless they got injured somehow.

He won his first grand slam during the height of the pandemic, which was a really AWFUL time to be a professional tennis player. The world of pro tennis was kind of a mess from early 2020=22 and it wound up derailing quite a few players. Just look at Jeremy Chardy for instance.

I also thought he'd be one of the successors of the 'big 3', but such is life. When you're standing 10-15 feet behind the baseline to hit a one-handed backhand, it eventually catches up with you. That takes too much energy and puts too much stress on your body, especially your shoulders. Thiem simply wore out. He's still young, so he will definitley find something useful to do with his life.
