Probeer dat te voorkomen ❣️ Cheers, Marco English: Hi @Huub, Make sure to get proper advice on how to repair cracks in the hull of your boat. Fiberglass/polyester derives its strength from the long glass strands in various directions, with each layer of fiberglass mat contributing to the distribution of forces over a large surface area. To restore this effect, you need to sand away as large an area as possible around the crack, tapering the material. Near the crack, you sand almost everything away, while at the edges you only sand down to one layer. This allows you to rebuild the layers neatly. A tip for sanding: thoroughly degrease the surface before sanding, especially when roughening it up. If you do this in reverse, you will grind the grease and dirt into the surface, which can weaken the adhesion of new layers. Once again, get proper advice. It’s common to see repairs needing to be redone after a few years. Try to avoid that❣️
Huub, you are doing everything correctly and for long term use. You are doing your future self a huge favor while coming up with a beautiful boat that will last for many years at a minimal cost compared to new boat prices! Congratulations!
Really have much respect for you admitting that some jobs are too much for you!! Some people think they can do it all but sometimes it's best to leave it to the professionals 💯 much love from the coast of Maine 🤙 💙
Don't know if you remember me, we discussed about a friend I had in Jamaica I was going to connect you with a few years ago.. Anyway I'm proud of what you have and are achieving old friend!
Been watching your videos since the first one, Man have you come a long way and the video quality has grown right along with you. Congratulations on the new boat I know you will have her sailing like new in no time and my my what a little helper you found I wish you and Dani happiness and safety in all of your adventures (work and play)
I'm so glad you have acquired a new future home and I look forward each new video. You are really making progress. One question, when will Daniela be back?
Knowing your ability/knowledge limits is not something everyone is willing to do. Good idea to call in someone who is familiar with boat building for such an extensive keel repair. I hope Daniela's studies are doing well and you are both staying safe.
I love watching you guys make progress in your ventures. You have taken on incredible (to me) challenges and managed it all. WOW. I do miss seeing Daniela and your interactions though!
Hey Huub, That yellow on the props may actually be an old layer of Propspeed. Someone may have been due for a new application, but they decided to cheap out with another layer of ablative paint over it.
Huub, now is a time to reflect on why the boat sits so far down on its original waterlines. You talk about extending the cockpit cover even further aft adding yet more weight in the wrong place. Maybe you should first focus on removing weight of the boat and make it a better performing boat by doing so. Cheers Peter.
Hi HuubI saw you busy with the saildrive. I hade quiet a lot of experiens with them. Because you do not know the history of the shaft seals it is maybe good idea to replace them no when you are on the shore, It is not to much work and you avoid to have to go out of the water in for replacing them when you are sailing agian. Good luck withe your repairs!
This Huub vlog was perfect for me, lots of repairs and talk of future repairs. I really like to hear Huub talk about the way he is going to do a repair and the reason why he chose why he chose the way he did, and then the explanation afterwards as to whether he was correct. Pleased to see that he used a power cut off saw instead of a hacksaw.
Good job Huub 👏 Now the Repairs can begin with the help of your Experienced friend 😊 So hears hoping that there's Nothing Major Stay Free and Safe Regards to Danni ❤
Huub, a wise decision to wait for your boatbuilder friend for the structural keel repair - you will then learn. how to do for the future (if needed). Keep up the good work. Greetings from NZ.
Goed werk zover Huub ! Goed plan om een expert te laten helpen bij de meer constructieve reparaties . Er valt wat dat betreft veel te leren door mee te kijken
Hi guys, your videos are awesome. What surprised me, is that there are no commercials in them. If you contact Google to add commercials to your videos, you might make a bit more money for the parts needed for the catamaran.
Prop speed is the best antifouling for the prop and leg. I use lanolin on my shafts and props. It lasts about 7 months. I wet-sand my props with oil so as to not take a bunch of metal off.
Dissimilar metal means corrosion occurs when two metals in contact are exposed to a common electrolyte, one corrodes faster while the other doesn’t , one doesn’t eat the other , I like your enthusiasm and hard work. Stay at it keep the videos coming.
The yanmas are simple enough to work on. Just make sure you have good fuel filtration, the injection pumps are fragile and any hard stuff getting in there score the pump piston cylinders that are aluminium.
Huub,...December en welk deel van die maand dan ook is wel heel erg ambitieus. Nu als je December 2025 bedoel dan is dat een heel stuk realistischer, maar definitief niet dit jaar gast 😂😂😂. Leuke video, duim 👍.
The actual seals are under the outer cover plates ...you cannot see them till the outer covers are removed ..but the outers don't keep the water out they just protect the holes and smooth out the water flow. Sailing parlay Revival have had to remove and service their seals and sail drives before leaving NZ to sail across the Pacific.. 👍🏻
@@clivestainlesssteelwomble7665 yes and they are why’s I said he should replace them the sail drives just looking at them you can tell they are probably not going to last for long and when they start leaking you can’t fix it on the water now or before splashing is the best time to replace them…..peace hope you have a great day

Where is Daniela? I got lost in my viewing and it’s not easy to find where I missed why she is gone. I saw where he said he was taking her to the airport but no reason why. Can anyone tell me? Thanks
I think do the hard top later and just secure/fix the existing one without the tarp and then you can spend more time planning the hard top. Depending how desperate you are to get in the water I guess. Not sure on your idea to put epoxy on the outside, is that normal? Why not just do the normal outside?
Come say hi at the Annapolis boat show if you're there this weekend!

What I like about your videos is that anything is possible with determination and alot of elbow grease. Great job !
A great lesson with sanding, maybe a walk at sunset and sunrise to keep the story for some of us...bendiciones...m
Your sanding videos are cool! Good music!
I'm looking forward to seeing Danie come back. She will be impressed with the work you've done.

Congrats on the YSA award, you deserved it. Now back to the bit by bit rebuild. Have fun.
Loving your videos, your ‘can do’ attitude and endless smile. Can’t wait to see the hull repairs coming together and seeing her back on the water 👍
Well done super super content also a good update for many of us, who have been watching an awful lot of sanding lol 😊
Big job a lot of time but your doing it right, she will be an awesome boat on completion.

Hey Huub, just wanted to tell you the video was great. We met you this weekend at the boat show. The guy and lady from Ohio.
Definitely making progress despite the challenges and steep learning curve .
Great job. Bit by bit you will get the entire boat together and you both will be soon back in the water ❤

It must have been hot in the forepeak. Glad you didn't have to cut a hole and make lots of nasty dust. Keep at it.

I'm gonna say this. I prefer a lighter color bottom paint because you can see better underwater.
Watching sanding is like watching paint dry. Is that next?
Have we all watched 47 sanding videos? Yes! Would we watch 47 more? YES! 🤣👏🏻 keep it up mate!
Maybe put a window in the new rook to see the mast ....?
Have you considered Copper Coat for your bottom paint? You might even get a sponsorship.
Love the Channel Name :)
I’m thinking that there could be issues with the other cables from the can getting thrown on ya boat
Lekker bezig hoor!
Can we see something like repairing rather than just sanding!!!
😊
Removing a bit of sealant is far superior to cutting holes.
Do you get more done solo or when she is there?
Good thing you have a glass, not wood boat!
