Malnutrition was the main thing that killed the Soviet soldiers during Stalingrad, made them weaker and slower to react.

Additionally, it wasn't until 1943 that the Red Army had numerical superiority over the Wehrmacht, and the Red Army simply did not have enough men in Stalingrad to be executing anyone who retreated. It is hilarious they make it seem like a commissar would shoot you for going back a few feet towards cover. It is all good fun but the history portrayed by this mission should be taken with a grain of salt.

This is not even counting the many PPSh's, Degtyaryov's and non-Mosin rifle variants produced. There is zero historical evidence to support the idea that regular Soviet infantrymen had rifle shortages in Stalingrad or any battle for that matter. What is true is that sometimes the Penal Battalions (who made up only a tiny percentage of the army) would be provided less rifles than standard infantry formations, but this far over blows that into something affecting all infantrymen.
Except Mosin s and most of the Soviet weaponry and artillery were manufactured in USA....It is no myth, your website source is a myth, try more history studies

Weapon shortages, especially like the "person with the rifle shoots, person with ammo follows", is completely false. That occurred more often in WW1.
It's crazy how those Commissar force people without gun to march straight toward a line of MG42, not mention they are all in high ground and we come at them from the low ground with minimum cover.
The game is actually very good. I enjoyed it more than CoD 2. The mission itself is still very well designed and engaging. The feeling of disempowerement is visceral. Sure it is innacurate, but if you're looking to any CoD for historical accuracy....

It's crazy how those Commissar force people without gun to march straight toward a line of MG42, not mention they are all in high ground and we come at them from the low ground with minimum cover.

The game is actually very good. I enjoyed it more than CoD 2. The mission itself is still very well designed and engaging. The feeling of disempowerement is visceral. Sure it is innacurate, but if you're looking to any CoD for historical accuracy....

Panzertiger Tanktiger a lot of Russians weren't given weapons. They gave half the men rifles, and the other half followed. When someone with a weapon died, the man without one would pick it up.

Still better than the new Cod when I played the campaign it felt like i was playing a point and shoot game on rails.
Dio Brando that part I agree.no one was given one gun and the other ammo.but it was very possible that some weren't armed.yes they had plenty but you have to take into consideration of whether or not did the guns get delivered,distributed amongst them.many weapon caches didn't make it in time.
