That's so exhausting. Why won't they just stop watching your channel? Aren't they counseled NOT to read/watch "anti" stuff? Why are they breaking their own rule just so they can troll your pages? Seems like they might want to reflect on why they're being disobedient while complaining about you being disobedient.

I had one on another channel come right out and say that they are encouraged by their church to go after ex-mos as they deserve no respite. I tried to explain how weak it makes the individual and the church look by being so petty and scared looking and got more of the same gobbledegook.

@@suerasley7237 that has been my experience as well.
They claim that people who have left the church can't let it alone.
My experience has been that the members can't leave me alone after my resignation.

When my daughter’s mother got pregnant in high school, the way she was treated by the Mormon church was horrific. This was a girl that was an all state athlete in multiple sports, ended up being valedictorian, was born into the church just to be shunned,
Publicly shamed and excommunicated. This was in a small town so the effects were even more devastating. They stopped just short of putting a scarlet letter on her I swear. The church and her family completely turned their backs.

I can believe that. I got pregnant out of wedlock at age 27, and no one was more disappointed than my Mormon grandmother. To add insult to injury, my daughter is bi-racial, so that disappointment also came with a lot of racist comments about how she hoped the baby's skin wouldn't be very dark and how I would need to "raise her right" in order to avoid her becoming too voilent. For the record, she absolutely adores my daughter, but I don't like having her around my grandmother unsupervised because she insists on trying to preach to her about the ways of the lord, including how racist and sexist he is. 🤦‍♀

Take solace in the fact that Mormonism is a religion, and religions are ancient. They've been around for millennia and people have been deceived for thousands of years. It's nothing new and is actually a quite natural response to the fatalism of the abyss that awaits us (death lol). It's not personal that we were indoctrinated by friends and loved ones, people truly believe, but we find our lives are simply better when we break out of the indoctrination. It's a new and scary path, but it's worth it.

I’m not LDS but a reader of history. If you want to get depressed read “Wife no. 19” by Ann Eliza Young. Brigham’s 19th wife. She is likely the catalyst of the accelerated abandonment/illegalization of polygamy. Interesting woman who was there at the time. Then dissect the history of Porter Rockwell, Brigham’s ‘body guard’ (likely an assassin). Pretty harsh stuff. It is not just the Mormon faith….. religion is about division, control, profit and a birth tax. I hope you can find peace and a lovely life.

This was indefensible in the 1970s and it was indefensible when the church was founded. Almost all protestant Christian groups (or large portions of them) were opposed to slavery by 1820. This includes Quakers, Baptists and Methodists (where Joseph Smith learned a great deal of his theology).
The US Constitution (1789) called for the end of the slave trade by 1807) Britain basically outlawed slavery in Britain in 1803 and by the 1830s enforced the death penalty for those participating in the slave trade. Joseph Fielding Smith knew this history. Joseph Smith ( who did give blacks the priesthood) and Brigham Young ( who took the priesthood away) knew it. The tide of religious thought towards Blacks browns yellows and reds was changing and had been changing, Brigham young et al made a conscious decision to be on the wrong side of history.

When you boil all the crap out of it, "Mormonism" is not so much the Gospel of Salvation, as it is the gospel of failure, the gospel of gullible, and the gospel of goofy. Thinking people can usually spot glaring contradictions and incomparable inconsistency when they see it, and they don't need anyone else to tell them when something is based primarily on social pressure as opposed to truth.

    • @HereForTheComments990
      @HereForTheComments990 4 місяці тому

Your comment reads as very disingenuous and conniving. Having a channel on UA-cam where people can discuss the lies and hypocrisy in Mormonism does not equate to living a life filled with resentment and bitterness. If you are being truthful at all (which I highly doubt), and you are resentful and lack peace, then it sounds like YOU need to disengage from this subject matter.
To me, you sound like a believer who is trying to manipulate with your comments to make people think you are an exmo, whilst lobbing barbs of condescending paternalistic criticism at the same time.
I’ve seen your comments on this channel. They remind me of the manipulative tactics taught to missionaries. Pretending to a level of concern and respect that you don’t actually feel, waiting for the moment to pounce and “sell” the church. It’s icky.
You are not genuine - even going so far as to diminish the lies, corruption, trauma caused by the church as “Mormon chaos.” Not passing the vibe check.
We’re not stewing in resentment, bitterness, or sadness. We’re living our lives and occasionally coming together to discuss our collective experiences with people who walked similar paths. It is healing, validating, and provides comfort and peace to have outlets like these when we want to engage.
If you can’t get over the church and YOU are filled with resentment after 33 years, get therapy. I did for over a year after leaving. I have never experienced more peace and uncomplicated happiness than since I left the church.
But as I said. I don’t believe you.

Why should I listen to a religion that tells me not to get an education, to have more children than I can financially/emotionally care for, to marry as young as possible; that tells me blacks, Native Americans, and women are inferior, that tells me that the LGBTQ+ community is evil, etc? My grandmother just told me not to listen to those people because those people don't speak for the church. Some of those people are general authorities. I swear, the lengths that some people will go to to defend their religion at all costs; it's exhausting. 🤦‍♀

I am commenting on a previous video of yours, but you will see that I am not a fan of the LDS.
If you were GOD, would you want (1) people who obey your laws, and wanted to obey laws that you set in place or (2) people who did not care to obey any particular law that you made, that they felt interfered with their freedom ?
It appears that you want option (2).
You probably do not mind if any of your children disobeyed or ignored any particular demand that you made, whether it was to protect them or not.
If your 6 year old climbs on a log and paddles out onto the lake without a life preserver, that would be fine.
    -
I think what you dislike is NOT Laws that have to be kept, but laws made by tyrants, and absurd laws that have no basis or connection to the Bible.
    -
I loved your videos. This is my research, and my story.
If people truly study what Jesus teaches, they will find that ALL "Sunday" churches do not follow what Jesus teaches.
I was in a "Sunday" church for several decades before deciding to study for myself.
Jesus teaches in Luke 16:17 "it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away than for one dot of the Law (Torah), to become void". (see also Matt. ch.5;17-19)
This means that Jesus (and the Apostles) state that the whole Torah still remains in effect. (Acts 21;20)
This means that everything that can be obeyed in the Torah, must be obeyed.
To be in covenant, the "MOST IMPORTANT TORAH COMMANDMENT", is the "Literal Saturday" Sabbath, which is part of the 10 commandments.
That means that according to Jesus teachings, there is NO salvation for any in any "Sunday" church, because I have not seen any "Sunday" church teach to obey the "Literal Saturday" Sabbath.
After YEARS OF RESEARCH, I recommend to study "MTOI" (mtoi) synagogue, (Cleveland, TN) as one of the more accurate sources of information.
By the way, I am in Canada.

Well, consider that reality has been more racist than this quote for basically all of human history. Forget whether it's black people - some race has certainly had a cursed existence in comparison to the other races. An all knowing God would know that and would know the reason for it. So it's hard to say if Joseph Fielding Smith was wrong. The issue comes with all the mental gymnastics of doubling back on the idea, but only kind of, and quoting historical prophets... but only some parts of what they said. It's not necessarily with the accuracy or "racism" of his statement.

Everything you’re saying is definitely valid for sure! I’m heading out of the church because of certain issues, but it’s the smugness members don’t appreciate which puts them in attack mode, your essentially telling these people everything they are, everything they’ve ever hoped for and everything they ever thought is a lie, your in a sense killing them, I’m personally struggling to find the will to live at the minute, realizing my whole life is probably a lie, and I’m sure many members feel the same, and the reason it’s hard for people to accept it’s not true is because let’s be real, with the gospel/plan of salvation, there’s no better doctrine out there in any other religion, families eternal, no hell, god valuing our progression, there’s nothing to replace it. Yes there’s idiots, but there’s also some amazing people, I’m not saying stop, but be kind to them!

I could do the same, blast all the bad news in everyone I loves face, but it makes them great people, and I don’t want anyone to go through what I’ve been through if they can help it, if the lie they are living makes them good people and gives them hope then fuck it, sometimes the truth isn’t good enough, if they’re an idiot and need to be told I’ll tell them, but not with any gladness. You can sometimes predict what humans will do; no divine revelation necessary.
Woodrow Wilson famously said in 1919 “I can predict with absolute certainty that within another generation there will be another world war if the nations of the world do not concert the method by which to prevent it.” Without divine intervention, he predicted WW2. Hell, Joseph Smith predicted the American Civil War in 1832 (granted he did predict apocalyptic consequences - but the first few bits were either accurate or really close).
With a grasp on how humans generally think, you can predict how they'll behave under certain circumstances. So even if someone predicted that event X would result in large groups of people rejecting organized religion, and even if that turned out correct, it wouldn't mean divine intervention was at play.
