I wish public games were how they were back when I started playing cod back in 2010 in cod 4 when game would be made purely off of connection and who ever searched for a game and not based on stats and how good the players are in the match

My career was WAW MW2 BO1 MW3. Best game was mw2 of all of those for me. The newer ones that marksman's been playing i wouldnt be able to keep up. And like he keeps mentioning, some ppl just use the same powerful guns it is annoying. Even connections based games were annoying but id prefer that over sbmm.
Battlefield does it.

You can always tell if a CoD is too campy, you go into TDM, if the game ends due to time, its too campy.
As soon as you get better in CoD they hit you with that double whammy full team of sweats vs your team of special ed pill poppers.

Nice video Nick. Just wish they would have a ranked (sbmm) and casual (no sbmm) playlist. That way if the kids get smacked in casuals, then they can play ranked against people of their skill level. Then they’ll get a visual rank (bronze, silver, etc.) and actually see when they improve.

it really is frustrating, if i don't solo win the game for my team i can never win, my teammates are like clueless bots who's deaf and blind lol.
I uninstalled Cold War after 3 games of TDM where I dropped over 40 kills in each and lost handily in all 3. Everyone of my teammates were 0.5 KD or less. Didn't buy Vanguard because I expected the same. It's not fun. I don't mind losing but every game where my randoms are terrible made it unplayable.

@@thesnipingspider3852 Let me clarify, I quit after those 3 games. I had played all morning so probably like 10-15 games total by that point but was closer to like 20 kills in the other games. Still lost the majority of them.

Went 32- 1 on my first game on the beta and then could barely stay positive after that sbmm is crazy
I used to play CoD with friends as a full team, we had varying skill levels on that team but were all avg or a bit above. We would win a lot of games but the best games were when another team would play us, if they lost then most times they would stay in the lobby have a bit of banter and play again, This I believe would help them and us improve and we would have amazing back and forth games that were fun.
Now with the lobby changes after every game it is difficult for players to improve against those they lost too, difficult to get advice from those players, the game just wants to destroy any hope of improvement and making new friends that will help and guide players to improvement.
Some of the best times ever on cod were from persistent lobbies. I put like 500 hours into mw2019 and hardly made any new friends. In the past we played with a maxed out 6 man every day. That's just how serious they are about sbmm i guess. I see no reason it can't recalculate after you start a new lobby. Part of what makes cod fun is rematched and making new friends.
They sold out. Isolated and dejected their most die hard fans. A quick story for perspective. Ive been playing cod for 13 or so years now. When I was a teen with less responsibilities, I racked up over 200k kills in some cods. Sometimes got to top 100 in global leaderboards. Easily over 10,000 hours played across cods, easily. I have less than 300hrs played in the past 2 years. Dozens of friends in similar positions. The franchise we grew up loving exist now only in name
i feel your pain marksman, I swear every game I play feels like my teammates rage quit, have a combined iq of 12, never played a fps in their lives, or all of the above.
sbmm is the worst thing cod has honestly done, even with lootboxes, IW, Bo4, and VG under their belts...
I decided to take a screenshot everytime I had 20+ as opposed to my team having 3-6 kills and looking back is horrific to see pages of how if you are above average player you are destined to lose because of your team and then on the other hand you are facing a team either more skilled or more in tune with the safe spaces within the game!

I wish they would be transparent about SBMM. They won't even talk about it. How did they go from strict SBMM in AW to loose SBMM 2015-2018, then to MW19's strict system to present. It must be about money and player retention. I've read that people believe 2019-present is actually Engagement Optimized Matchmaking (EOMM) and not SBMM - it's more of a rollercoaster to keep players playing. You're not playing the game, the game is playing you, via an algorithm.
It’s easy to counter sbmm, if u dominate the lobby coz the shots were consistent, the next game it will intentionally alter your aim and ttk is 10x against you therefore u die quicker than usual, what u do is find another lobby. It will trick the program to treat you in your advantage.
@@bp4_archive i still play mw2019 and the sbmm is quite not strong so I get better Lobby so when I know that it’s the program that is initiated I just keep finding better lobbies until shots is consistent, now based on mw2 beta sbmm is crank up so I change lobbies more than usual, focus on how the ttk behaves, if u feel that it’s in ur advantage then stay in the lobby.

Glad marksman just said it. I've said the same things for years and was told I'm bad bc I was frustrated with sbmm and the incentives to camp etc. I stopped playing video games 4 years ago because of this new structure. Which sucks, because I do enjoy gaming. But the frustration and constant trying was too much. Not fun anymore.
I still remember the days where the only way you were good at the game was if you had good gun skill/play. It was just so simple but fun and it sucks how kids nowadays won’t get to experience that, that’s why they play the way they play

You ain't never lie man. My KD in modern warfare the first one I've ever played was like 1.3-1.5, modern warfare 2 I got a lot better and was up to 2.8-3.1 KD.
I hovered around 3.0 for every cod after that until Modern warfare 19 it was wayyyy too campy and I couldn't do multiplayer so I played ground war and ended up getting scumpy in every damn lobby. Having a 3kd meant if he was online I was getting him in a lobby. How is that fun? Once warzone dropped I went to verdansk and got Tim, disrespect, the who's who of warzone...
Sbmm pushed me out of cod after almost 10 years of faithfully playing the franchise.
Same i have diamond/dark matter and reached master prestige almost all CoDs since BO2 , KD been atleast 1.7 and above but MW and CW just press me to quit no one has gum skill they just jump ,or camp

Part of the reason is the advance in map making. It's given hard campers even more places to hide. The counter to EOD should be the Danger Close. I remember on MW3 the way to counter a camper team was with concussion, smokes, RPGs, C4s and Recon Pro. It was easy because they couldnt retake the camper spots and if they did we all would change loadouts

I disagree MW2019 was my first cod but even as someone who had a below one KD I absolutely HATE SBMM. People who are average or bad don’t even get easier lobbies because everyone is all the same skill level. There’s no gameplay variety
Immarkaman also says that his teammates were not as good as the opposing team so they can’t have fun and most of ‘em leave even though they are winning b4. So maybe some one in ur team was a sweater and SBMM just d*ck you over and put u against the sweater lobby

@@bp4_archive yeah I'm not going to lie I quit playing call of duty right at the end of black ops 3, decided to start playing again around 6 months into Cold war and while I managed to get myself to atleast a 2.2 KD steady I carry my team every single match and if im lucky ill get a teammate or two that go even.... Needless to say modern warfare 2 is way worse unfortunately but has the potential to be a lot better if Infinity Ward decides to listen to the customers!!!!

Exactly right Marksman, the game caters to camping playstyle and punishes the others. Not just S&D but MP in general is going to be a camping mess yet again.
Red dots on the minimap gives helpful information to urge you to push. This also works to open up map movement.
Dead silence as a perk without activation sound allows for possible pushes or flanks.
When the Meta already shows a comping playstyle because it takes advantage of the best set up possible.
Did they really develop the game with all playstyles in mind?
on the topic of campers you *should* be able to counter them, i think all playstyles should have a way to be countered, and I'm hoping IW understands that either before launch (very doubtful) or after launch (most likely), after launch is when IW will get the most feedback and would most likely make changes especially if enough people make their voices heard.
People have been calling out infinity ward for their campy games since cod ghosts... They'll never listen.

Agree with everything you said. With that being said you have made a pretty successful career playing the game title. Businesses will always cater to the 97% of casual players knowing the top 3% will continue to play, making a decent living dealing the the short falls of the games.
As someone that regularly plays csgo, it really seems like cod is trying to become that, except camping and holding a line of site is way too op. if you can move more freely in csgo where audio q’s is a major factor in winning rounds but cant in cod then i think there’s an issue with the game

Me and my brother have been playing the original MW2 lately. And the thing that we noticed was.. we’re ACTUALLY having fun. Something we had a hard time doing during the beta. It’s really something about the older COD’s that they had that I swear isn’t just nostalgia. Modern COD’s just don’t have that “IT” factor anymore
That’s the sole reason why I’m likely opting out of getting MW2(2022). Over the past few years, it hasn’t had the same feel. Perhaps when they changed the movement style which I find to be clunky. All the added unnecessary shit is overkill. I’ve been thoroughly enjoying the simplicity of WW2.
Unfortunately I have a 0.97 KD because I was absolutely trash when I started playing and now I got a lot better but there’s too much I need to do to change the number
Same here, started pretty dookie at the game and have been stuck on a very slowly rising 1.10 KD event tho im pretty much top 2 on the leaderboard 80% of the time on nearly every mode.

I’ve been stuck under 1 kd cause I wasted away trying to go for Damascus and got so tired of trying bc of the repetitive bs that I just stopped caring for kd. No reason to unless you’re trying to uphold something that millions of players have. Not much of a flex anymore considering that there’s more cheaters that run rampant on top of skilled bases matchmaking

I remember playing mw3 and bo2 on my friends xbox when i was a kid and always getting shit on, it upset me. Playing the more recent cods ive had a kd around 2 since i started playing on pc in 2014. Ive noticed in the recent cods ill have a few games i shit on the other team say 20 and 2 with a 6 to 1 win, then i face the most tryhard players and get shit on say 3 and 6 with a 0 to 6 loss. The skillbased matchmaking is terrible as id say im like b+ tier and i cant play anyone around my level 90% of the time, its either shit on or be shit on
Having dead silence ring an alarm bell on use is maybe the dumbest design choice ever. I imagine Q talking to James Bond, now 007 when you want to be sneaky use this, it will make you totally silent. Now Bond is about to sneak then the enemy compound, takes out his dead silent device, hits the button, DING DING DING, oh shut he’s dead.

From all my years of gaming, Halo 3 to me had the best matchmaking, sure there was SBMM but you had the ability to choose and play with the same people and keep the lobby together, this created an awesome rivalry that I haven’t seen in years.
The casual good player gets punished the most nowadays. I have a 2kd on warzone and shit becomes so unbearable that it’s not even fun to game. I’m 27 and I know our age group is no longer the targeted audience for today’s multiplayer games but man is it frustrating to have to be so sweaty at every game you hop on even if its just for the weekend.
I played BO1, BO2, BO3, BO4, WW2, MW2019, and warzone with close to a 2kd in multiplayer and got so frustrated with the overall lobby KD and the cheaters. I looked up Iceman Issaac and other streamers lobby KDs and mine were almost always higher and I just didn't think it was fair, so I quit the game and never looked back. Too much frustration. The only COD I enjoy is watching Marksman.

tbh I’d say BO3 sweat lobbies against a squad of people like legendary noble would have to be some of the most difficult lobbies you could imagine
I played respawn at like 5am a few days ago and it was the most fun ive had on MW. Just messing around and using fun guns it was awesome

I started CoD with MW3. I was a Christmas noob. I was AWFUL at the game. I don't remember what my K/D was but it definitely wasn't good, cuz what I remember is that I was down by over 10k deaths. Over the years I would still go back and play cuz it was my first and all and all I just really enjoyed the game. I managed to bring it back over time where my overall was finally positive. These days I sit around 1.1-1.4 at the most. Average to slightly above average. I don't like being bad. I learned, and I improved. Now I get punished for doing that.
In my experience as a bad player it's more compelling to run around like a headless chicken than camp.
I missed this style of video man. Good to see you still trying to talk some sense into the devs after all these years Marksman. I haven't touched CoD since Cold War's horrendous launch but I always enjoy your content. Looking forward to seeing you play MW2 and hoping they take your feedback seriously.
I remember a couple years ago I had a guy on my team that wanted everyone on our team to counter the enemy team camping in their spawn the whole game by camping in OUR spawn the rest of the game

I absolutely kept trying to push and was still top of the team with a positive K/D. As Marksman stated around 11:56, campers vs campers where nobody moves just isn't fun.
I have 1.5~2 kd. Drops some good kill games and get punished after by getting ppl who are scared of pressing buttons on a controller. I go against 6 man parties for the next few games, still drop a decent amount of kills with a positive kd. But struggling to win.
Same man. I only have a one kd but I am always positive/on top of my team. I have one or two fun matches with plus 10 kills in snd and then the fuck fest starts.

@@thekillerbean Yes, smurfing doesn't work on mw19 snd as far as I know from experience. I played with new accounts on tdm and the lobbies were timmy tammies. but snd is a shitshow no matter what

You can learn through videos, I use DaVinci the basic version, it can do most things
I'll give you a few tips before you try, always save every 10mins because video software crashing is not uncommon, get your mic right cuz editing noise is quite annoying

hit the nail on the head... I used to smash COD, had a half decent KD on all CODs pre BO3 average around 2-3KD but now my reactions are slow, I work and just cba for the camping that literally in every single match now!
i just wish things could go back to mw3/blops 2 days man. even blops3 would be a huge upgrade to modern games.....even bad people feel like theyre playing against sweats

Having god impossible lobbies is literally my life story in this game. I went from around a solo 4KD in BO4 to like a 1.6/7 because of the people I’m forced to play (parties of tryhards) against and the team mates I’m put with. (People who don’t know left from right laying on cars in spawn on pickledickle or something so you’re stuck in a spawn trap all game)
In my earlier cod days I was absolute trash so I camped all the time. Then eventually I adopted the run and gun tactic and only camp if I'm unable to push out of where I'm at without dying
My first cod was MW2019 (having not really played fps games growing up) and not even being at a really high skill level (I have a 1.3 or 1.4 KD in search) I find myself having to try and sweat every game if I want even a chance to win. SBMM needs to be lessened or removed in my opinion
In the older cods Search was always the place to find better players. People used to go to search to challenge themselves. Also practice for gamebattles. Search let's you really hone in on rush routes, nade spots, advantageous sightlines, etc. Of course there were people who stumbled in haplessly, who weren't very good.
I used to average anywhere from 13-18 kills a game on search when I tried to win but since I keep getting shitty team mates or a enemy team that camps in every corner so I stoped trying because it’s not fun anymore so now I just average at least 10 kills. I have a 1.65 on search but it’s not worth trying to make it better if I can’t have fun on the game.
But what about “ricocheted”? on multi player i know it most definitely do not work i have lost count on how many new accounts, hackers i get base with shit is nuts

Yup. I’m changing my play style for MW2 2022 because of the SBMM system. Gonna level up the shotties and just camp in high traffic areas. Since they punish rushers and footsteps are still loud. Oh well. 🤷🏻♂️

I swear there is something else in play other then the match making bs. The amount of times I get into a game and go from shitting on people to not being able to kill anyone. Sadly a lot of people I know say the same thing. It seems like there is some sort of live algorithm that either lowers your guns damage or increases others health.
I can vouch for that When they added Cross Gen Stats a lot of people had Modded stats even till this day

I decided to hop on bo4 after years of not playing cod, i have 3kd but still all my teammates have no clue what they are doing, enemy snipers nest all time on the air because of my team, i still need to clutch up an entire domination by myself, which is sometimes fun but after time it gets very frustrating
Mw3 was my first cod I played I still remember getting stomped on by the veterans of the game what happened I learned what to do and got better with each following game

I really think the op perks for camping is catered for warzone. So instead of making perks different on multiplayer, just easier to keep everything the same. But it's only a guess on my end.
This, plus from leaked info Warzone and MW2 will be separate clients, so there's no real excuse at that point to NOT balance MP differently to Warzone.

Not to brag, but to add to your frustration. My last game before picking up MW2019 was BO2. My kd was 2.75 in that game. With this game i never went above 1.2 KD. It is so frustrating to do well one game to get demolished the next 5 to a full team of try hards. The game was actually giving me anxiety that i had to stop playing. Its not worth the frustration it caused when i all want to do is have some fun.

Yesterday this hit hard. I have a friend who's kd is significantly lower then mine and we go back to play mw 2019 well we wait for mw2. Well he's waiting for me to hop on he's going positive pretty much every match. As soon as he lobbies up with me he doesn't get close to positive again. Ruins the experience playing together because if we get random lobbies there's a chance we both do well.
I would do well either way he's the one that has his experience effected when he plays with me.
to be fair, the minute i saw how the perks worked and i saw what was available in create a class.. i used EOD, battle hardened, cold blood and ghost on everything. also, because i can't push campers early in the game when they have uav along with slow dead silence, i was getting frustrated and decided to not get MW2 although i was really hyped for it... rip

It's like this with a lot of games I play these days, for instance Halo Infinite, I am a scrub versus people with godly armor skins and they know all the maps, it's hard to get into a game after the cap has been hit. Thank god I pre-ordered MW2!
Its like this in games such as Overwatch as well, the match making is brutal. Got a win/loss higher than 60%? You can carry this team of 5, easily. Got a win loss of 40%? We'll pair the Justice League on your team.
And when I am trying to have fun, I have to sweat to have fun. And then it’s not fun anymore
I gotta admit, respawn game modes in mw2 beta were rough and unenjoyable. But tactical game modes such as search and the new game modes were so much fun, and the ground war as well.
The best thing to solve the dead silence dilemma is to separate the mechanism of the dead silence between respawn game modes and tactical game mode. Ideally, dead silence as a perk for respawn game modes and as a field upgrade only for tactical game modes.
I like the perk system of Black Ops Cold War, and I like you can use 6 perks, wish if they bring it for mw2

I have guys on my team every game of search that if they are last alive will literally just sit in a corner and lose the match on purpose. You can't push without dead silence and it'll be worse in mw2.

The scenario tha I got in my mind is, the Infinity Ward mega boss, has a son who plays the game and ask for him to make the game more easy, cause he's so bad that the only way for him to get 2 kills is geting the class like Marksman said!
What doesn’t make sense to me, is if I get smacked 5,10,15 games in a row (maybe not literally in a row) I should in theory be getting placed in easier lobbies, since I’m losing so much. It never seems to happen. I just get stuck infinitely with the 2+ KD sweat lobbies.
They had the same problem in MW19, EOD ghost and tac mask.
I agree with Marksman on the rant, but one thing to consider is that IW is catering to casual players who don't have the time to git gud or don't enjoy the grind of getting gud. I imagine if you're a father of 4 and you come home after a long day at work, the last thing you want to play are sweaty bunny hoppers only using meta weapons. Theres nothing wrong with wanting to play CoD casually and not looking to 'git gud' but I do agree that a lot of the changes in MW2 are dumb and negatively affect gameplay
If everybody camps, there wouldn't be anything to do in the game. The playstyle relies on non campers to function. So idk why they'd promote the one playstyle that if used by everyone would softlock the game.
Of course 97% of people who play don’t care if they’re good. Most people just want to play to have fun. Games are not fun when you need a headband. Bring back 2010 lobbies where i could run a stupid set up, have fun, and play with casuals.
Thing about being an average cod player (just above 1kd) is that there are different levels to it. I play on my mates account whos kd is like .02 higher than mine and his lobby’s are noticeably more sweaty and way less fun. There’s a big range of skill around the middle of the bell curve and every time you play well they punish you by putting you against blokes who don’t move around and listen for footsteps. When I played bo2 I didn’t have to sweat every game with my headset cranked to a million to do well, and if I got in a harder lobby I leaned forward, focused and tried my best against better players. Long story short some people play games to have fun believe it or not and having a variety of play styles was great. Being forced to sweat every game to do well isn’t fun not everyone is tryna be marksman lol
I played the mw2 all weekend and it feels like im getting punished for being Good at the game, as soon as i get 3-4 great games in a row the next game after is instantley just camper sweats that tryhard. SBBM kills being good at a Casual game, because as soon as u get Good they put u in ”non- Casual ” lobbies.
I think the problem is there’s not enough perks and even if their were the strongest ones will always ALWAYS be so much stronger than all the others that every game is filled with the same exact perks. I think a good way to benefit rushers would be to add a perk where if you’re moving at top speed you take an extra bullet to kill. Or make one where it gives you an extra tactical and allows you to move even faster after using it like for example you get 2 smoke grenades and after you throw one you get a small speed boost.

I play COD since WAW but I stoped playing multiplayer since BO2. I just can't keep up with this slide cancel, jumping corners era. I'm a casual player, kd below 1 but I only play zombies mode nowadays, cold war and bo2 zombies.
Your not wrong! I remember playing against the same people over and over again in AW! All I played was CTF made to the top 90 in the world and you only seen the same names in matches!
This is me in any fps nowadays. Apex, Valorant, COD, Battlefield. I’m too good for the 97% but not good enough to fight against the 3%. It’s not fun slogging anymore. It’s why I’ve stepped down from the FPS community and moved on to other games. It’s sad really. I love FPS, but slogging everyday for maybe 1 win is not fun.
They need to put non sbmm and sbmm modes. Then they can see the stats themselves in their investors faces.
