man , my heart was beating each time you , were cutting through London traffic nice to see London through a bikers perspective and a very awesome bike man that's some power
as far as I've searched every where, your video is the only one with folding mirrors to get through traffic. I live in Bangkok and the traffic is hectic. Thanks so much for showing this point out so clear!
I believe you've just about talked yourself into buying this machine Baron. i look forward to the video where you reveal your new R!! Please keep the GS as well as I do love your trips through the Alps. :)
Great video, Baron. I know I have now posted several comments like this and never gotten a reply, but I believe you're reading them, so it's alright. I am so happy with the new frequency of uploads, mate. It makes me so happy to see a notification that you uploaded a video, and even more so when I see it's a 19 minute video. I literally cooked dinner after seeing the notification to eat as I watched this video. Thank you so much for all the awesomeness, mate. And even more importantly, it makes me so happy to see that you're happy. All the best wishes, Arthur.
Your analogy about the bike having a job to do but not liking you gave me a laugh. I envision sitting on it doing the whole I love my bike while it's pi**ed just wanting to go.
Great video Baron. Makes me think of it as the BSA DBD34 Goldstar of today, built for going fast. If you could find somebody who would lend you one to compare it to and see how superbikes have developed/changed over the years that would be awesome. Other bikes like the original Triumph Bonneville T120, the Honda CB750 and things like the Kawasaki H2 750 and then moving eventually to get to the 1999 R1 and Ducati 916 e.t.c. That would be a cool series to watch
You certainly have city riding nailed impressed, haven't got a bike anymore but this video just makes me want one if only for city riding. Amazing looking bike, great video :-)
one of the more informative and well explained reviews I've seen on the bike. good video, thanks for sharing. I did noticed your thoughts and feelings about the bike changed a bit from the first review but that is to be expected with more seat time. Now I just need to make the wife think I need one. lol
I approve of these reviews Mr Baron! Jealousy mode engages every time and I shout "lucky c*unt" and "bastard" a lot, but overall they are great! Keep 'em coming kind sir. Many Thanks, Mark
I just bought a base 2015 model. Rode it for about a total of 4 hours and already love it. Came with a full Yosh system and an FT quickshifter/auto-blipper. Throttle definitely takes a bit of getting used to because of the momentary delay, but it's nice not to have to be millimetrically precise - just twist and trust the electronics. First gear is unnecessarily long, maxing out at 162km/h, and I think they did it for statistical considerations - 0-100mph without having to change gear, shaves fractions off that common benchmark...RSV4 has the same kind of long first gear. I have my first track day on it at the end of February and I'm beside myself from excitement.
there are a few pretty important things you missed about the non m to the m version. one thing is there are some lighter bits in the motor that help it rev quicker on the M
Thanks for the London tour,i havnt been there for about 28 years,i am more of a bicycle type of guy although i did have a moped derbi variant which i souped up in spain but i enjoy this vid for sure cheers geez.
I'm after a new 1,000cc+ machine, apparently there's rumours that Triumph have an all new radically designed, bonkers looking, spec'd to the core 1050cc Daytona (R) Supersports coming for 2016, if that doesn't happen then I might seriously consider the R1M. Man, it looks and sounds the part! Keep the cool videos coming, Baron. Safe riding! :)
I do love that R1M but I still like my 09 R1 for now, great feeling bike and still perfect for our shite roads in the UK, maybe in a few years when they come down in price a bit aswell. :)
Another vlogger (JakeTheGardenSnake) argued recently the big obstacle with Superbikes on the road: If you're having any fun on them, you're breaking the law, because they just don't want to know any slower than that. I can tell you like it.
A beacon that shoots into space saying: "Steal me!" ... Epic! ... I parked up in front of Metropolis in Vauxhall and was constantly worried someone would steal it... London for you.
I must say I'm VERY impressed with your ability to sum up the emotional appeal and categorize bikes. I ride. Aesthetics are irrelevant to me. I have a 1999 KLR 650. You're probably feeling ill reading that. Your creative industries training has given you a stunning ability to communicate the flavor and visual visceral appeal of bikes FAR better than your average bike reviewer. Again, irrelevant to me, I only do dual sports bikes, I'm all about utility. But still impressive. Keep up the great bike reviews!
On the how sexy that bike looks: if you deck it out fully with the Giles levers, rearset kit, foot pegs and the amazing and intimidating Acropovic Slip on this bike looks sexier than anything else.
I need A NEW JIZZ MACHINE sticker! I think those should still be made and sold with the same color options and font. I need that chrome Jizz Machine sticker. I had a chrome and gold one but that was YEARS ago on my s1000rr...
Nice vid Baron. This bike strikes me as a track bike you don't need a trailer to get to the circuit with, and anything more than that is just pointless, in the same way you could use a surgeon's thermal scalpel to cut up your steak in the evening, but you just.. don't
As a car-less lover of superbikes; I am really enjoying the very informative "Everyday Bike?" series. At the risk of mass-castigation from your cool-dude audience; might I request comments on the luggage system for future episodes in this series?
Good rounded view and I must say, lovely bike!! I'm sure you have you have filtered past me a times on your GSXR but I'll definitely know if it you should I see you this beast.
It is a wonderful bike, but not a bike for every day, unless you want to stay hunchback :) for life. I say it's a great second bike for weekends. Great vid Man. Big V
+Jacob Mantzaris Wow, I simply asked if this is considered normal and you call me a jackass? lmao, how ironic. You obviously have shit for brains. Let's recap what genius words you spoke that doesn't answer my question at all: 1. It's safer to cut in front of cars from the sides while stuck in traffic(sure, Einstein). 2. and the bike is much faster than cars(so, faster vehicles should weave and cut in and out of traffic jams because they're faster?). 3. and the only other option to cutting off other cars would be to tailgate them(yes, because you seem to have a mental condition). How do you manage to live with the level of intelligence you have? Get some help, man.
+Jacob Mantzaris Haha, how is my response RANDOM insults when it's directly recapping the comments you made? A random insult would be if I said you were a fat, ugly fuck. You have yet to explain how it's actually safer to weave in and out of traffic jams and cut cars off. Which is not even what I asked about in the first place. You just keep saying that it's safer on the grounds that it's legal, even after I've explained how lane-splitting is different from what I was asking about. Oh, and I actually am a motorcycle rider, just not a retarded one.
+Jacob Mantzaris Really, he's not cutting cars off? What do you call 04:12 08:59 10:29 11:17 12:01 13:08 etc. He's putting his bike into other vehicles' paths and either making them brake and/or coming within inches of the front or sides of their cars. Let's not call that cutting cars off, because, fuck it, you're Einstein. I showed you an example of a random insult because you claimed that my response was full of random insults, when they weren't random at all. Too bad you're too dumb to even understand the difference. Why would you cry like a baby about insults anyway? If you feel offended by insults, maybe you should have thought about that before you made your first comment. lol You're the one who needs to learn road rules if you think that lane-splitting is just chucking your bike into the paths of other drivers. Enjoy the inevitable wreck you're going to get yourself into because you lack the proper brains to understand your impact on the drivers around you.
jackka82 I agree this fella is riding like a dick.....but you expect nothing more from southerners in this country......that bike will never get past 3000 rpm.
Sounds like scooterbro's are the same everywhere D: I had one break off my indicator trying to squeeze his bike in a gap between me and another bike. I actually needed that room to stand the bike UP to get it out of the spot as well...
I reckon you would be suited for your main road bike for buzzing about you should have the MT10SP with full Akropovic and woolich Ecu flash and blipper, launch control like mine. If you ever want to borrow it for a few days let me know 👍
What a time to be alive Baron! There is so many great bikes! 1299 Panigale, R1M, S1000RR. But what about RCV213? Any chances You will get to sit on it?
I daily my 2009 zx6r i only travel 6 miles to work but i could ride it all day long, yeah a upright naked bike would be more comfortable but its my only bike and it does everything very well, commuting to work, going to the shops, going out with my mates.
Born in the permafrost I guess with your colds... It was funny to see you not even getting into third gear more than once or twice in almost 20 minutes of video :D #gladtohaveyouback
An old school vlog/BaronVonRant followed by an 18 min review of the R1 M? Life must be going back to normal for you. I love 44 teeth, the way it is edited in a relaxed - too cool to be part of "serious" media wankers - way and Alan´s vlogs. Thanks for the post, will be buying a black Jizz Machine sticker for my new white fairings!
When this video startet you said you will say some good and bad things about this Yamaha. My impression was that you are a very experienced motorcycle rider and the bad things you said are just your personal preferance. Others might like them. I am not yet an owner of a motorbike but after I watched your video I am very much considering buying one. And I would like to go for the Yamaha YZF-R1M. Thank you for your video. Always ride safe. ;-)
If you think a litre 4 banger is a bit gutless and hard to manage down low, I'd love to see you review the 4 Japanese 250cc 45hp 4 bangers from 1989-1990!
I love the new R1's when i rode one i fell in love with it. Unfortunately I haven't been able to ride the R1M yet. 😔 The brushed aluminum tank looks awesome along with the carbon accents. 👌🏻💯
Never ridden one but have a 12 reg r1 , understand about throttle. Can tell what you mean about the happiness of it , prob feels a bit intimidation and straight to the point haha
"Just don't accelerate and be a dick" fuck that's usually my first thought in the rain, oh look at this slippery ground would be a shame if i were to... PULL MY WRIST BACK AS FAST AS POSSIBLE AHHH!!!! And I'm dead.
Couldn't agree more with the review. I test rode the standard model to compare it to the s1000rr. The throttle was like it was connected with spaghetti so flimsy feeling. I was thinking a ball bearing system to replicate the pull of a throttle cable, maybe?. And the starter was a issue for me sounded like it didn't want to wake up. The speed was insane I would lose my licence for sure. I would get it for the track if I had the splash.
I’m looking at the new r1’s. I’m usually using it to go to work which is only 2 miles away or go to the canyons. I’m not using it to commute 10+ miles.
Jizztastic. Is there any way you could do a comparison between this and Kawasaki's H2R? Also any chance you could do a video on blippers, and how they work etc.? Keep up the awesome videos mate!
+Antphelpsee i really want to get hold of an H2.... and blippers, im probably not the right person to explain technicalities of it - all i know its super awesome ;)
thanks for wetting my appetite a little more, I've actually ordered one even without ever seeing one in the flesh, don't know when its coming.... but roll on 2016, looking forward to the YRE that comes with it too. You buying it then???
Confirms all the reasons why I would never live in London. I have Cadwell Park just 20 minutes down the road. Just one life so I prefer to live it without all that traffic. I love my Aprilia RSV4RF, it set the standard 4 out of 5 years WSBK winner. As for the fasted bike well don't forget the Kawasaki H2, OK the R1, ZX10R and RSV4RF will out handle it but if shear speed is your thing, it's incredible.
I can agree to few points here. Hi tech-yes, looking good-yes,best snack of thieves-yes,responsive throttle-yes,but.....bike most likely for short trips and city use as those gsxr's, r6,zx6,cbr's. rr.they give a lot of fun and are uncomfortable and have not much space to fit any panniers. If yuo treat is as second bike when having zzr1400 ( i have 3rd at the moment), hayabusa, z1000sx or fz1 then why not.
Please do a more detailed video on the R1M suspension, - how well can it cope with lousy roads; do different comp/rebound setting work in these scenarios and how good or bad is the R1M compared to the 2015+ S1000RR on such surfaces? If the argument is the R!M a track bike, then how does it cope with bumpy tracks?
Yet another eminently watchable , funny and real world practical review from the Maestro.
Another video. Thanks Baron for keeping me entertained through tough times.
+One Man And His Bike thanks for watching :)
BaronVonGrumble don't know if yoiuve stated it in a previous video but how does the r1 and r1m I your opinion compare to the s1000rr?
Witty, informative, and articulate. You're helping remove the disdain I feel about most youtube motorcycle blogs one video at a time. Cheers.
man , my heart was beating each time you , were cutting through London traffic nice to see London through a bikers perspective and a very awesome bike man that's some power
I have no idea what we did but thank you for all the inflow of videos later Mr Baron. Keep up the awesome work and loving the videos!!

***** Haha Deal buddy
RULE 1: SINGLE Bloody Decker :)
Lex Fitness I ordered mine today 😊
Where you at.
Thanks for your view point. It was nice to see you go through city traffic as well.
Your analogy about the bike having a job to do but not liking you gave me a laugh. I envision sitting on it doing the whole I love my bike while it's pi**ed just wanting to go.
Love seeing Barnes/Hammersmith pass by in all these vids, gives me a nostalgia wheelie-feelie
Great video Baron. Makes me think of it as the BSA DBD34 Goldstar of today, built for going fast. Wow watching this in 2022, I remember the good old days when Hammersmith bridge was open and petrol was only £1.25 per litre.
Nice bike, great review
one of the more informative and well explained reviews I've seen on the bike. good video, thanks for sharing. Insane how great the weather is in this video, particularly when you notice the date. Looks like a spring morning.
I just bought a base 2015 model. Rode it for about a total of 4 hours and already love it. Came with a full Yosh system and an FT quickshifter/auto-blipper.

Funny that I bought mine, just as you sold yours. :D
Rainy evening indoors. Time for throwback Baron Von Grumble videos
Great to see the bike reviews again and the inevitable BaronVonCold. Love the videos :D
there are a few pretty important things you missed about the non m to the m version. one thing is there are some lighter bits in the motor that help it rev quicker on the M
Love how you just ride where and when you want.. law, what law?
Also you're funny as fudge mate...
Cracking video!! Probably one of the best videos I've seen for this bike :) good job!
+Tbark24 Vlogs thanks bud :)
Always look forward to these! Another great video!
The penile metaphors were spot on. Great vid Baron
I really like indicators in mirrors too, I wish my K2 had them.
Thanks for the London tour,i havnt been there for about 28 years,i am more of a bicycle type of guy although i did have a moped derbi variant which i souped up in spain but i enjoy this vid for sure cheers geez.

love the city shots of you on the r1 that was a blast
I do love that R1M but I still like my 09 R1 for now, great feeling bike and still perfect for our shite roads in the UK, maybe in a few years when they come down in price a bit aswell. :)
Another vlogger (JakeTheGardenSnake) argued recently the big obstacle with Superbikes on the road: If you're having any fun on them, you're breaking the law, because they just don't want to know any slower than that.
I can tell you like it.
+James Trimbee He's not wrong but if you are someone that likes the track then you like the SS bikes but in reality they are not made for the road.
supermotos are pretty much the same but instead of speed there are wheelies stoppies and any kind of hooliganism
+Alessandro Manica yoooo I never thought of that holy shit that's so true.
+McMuffinFluffin I realized that as soon as I hopped on my ktm hahaha
Every Yamaha that I've owned even my old ttr90 has been cold blooded but as soon as there warm there just lovely machines that just wanna impress
Great video and review! Keep up the amazing work baron!

+Jeff Cobb thanks :) You may then enjoy this article I wrote with words and things on this very bike: 44teeth.com/yamaha-r1m-beautiful-darkness/
I am happy the music is back :)
On the how sexy that bike looks: if you deck it out fully with the Giles levers, rearset kit, foot pegs and the amazing and intimidating Acropovic Slip on this bike looks sexier than anything else.
Probably the best bike reviews on the interwebs
I need A NEW JIZZ MACHINE sticker! I think those should still be made and sold with the same color options and font. I need that chrome Jizz Machine sticker. I had a chrome and gold one but that was YEARS ago on my s1000rr...

As a car-less lover of superbikes; I am really enjoying the very informative "Everyday Bike?" series. At the risk of mass-castigation from your cool-dude audience; might I request comments on the luggage system for future episodes in this series?
Lovely Ride &
MotoVlog ;)
Those Bikes are definitely
Next Level !!!
+Dracati Ducati thanks mate :)
+BaronVonGrumble when is the next bmw r100 video coming out?
+BaronVonGrumble sir do you have this kinda of video about a 2015 bmw s1000rr ? How good would be to commute.
G
It is good, very good: my real first bike and I put almost 15000 km on it since may 2016. Got my license in January 2016.
Good rounded view and I must say, lovely bike!! I'm sure you have you have filtered past me a times on your GSXR but I'll definitely know if it you should I see you this beast.
I want the new R1 sooooo bad :D :D :D
Top video Baron...really enjoyed the review
Love That Bike So Much. I have a Yamaha YZF R125, 2015 plate on it, in Race Blue !!!
great explanation of the lil tricks, tips. great video
I was expecting a BLOODY DOUBLE DECKER kind of intro :) but besides that very good review Baron
mv agusta brutale dragster at 12:43 damn that bike is nice
Brilliant review great rider as well through all the traffic 👍
It is a wonderful bike, but not a bike for every day, unless you want to stay hunchback :) for life.
I say it's a great second bike for weekends.
Great vid Man.

Is riding like this in the city considered normal? Weaving in between and cutting cars off at every possible chance?

jackka82 I agree this fella is riding like a dick.....but you expect nothing more from southerners in this country......that bike will never get past 3000 rpm.
Sounds like scooterbro's are the same everywhere D: I had one break off my indicator trying to squeeze his bike in a gap between me and another bike. I actually needed that room to stand the bike UP to get it out of the spot as well...
This is the way..owned a 09 R1 and took a little bit of concentration at first for throttle but afterwards never a issue
I reckon you would be suited for your main road bike for buzzing about you should have the MT10SP with full Akropovic and woolich Ecu flash and blipper, launch control like mine. If you ever want to borrow it for a few days let me know 👍

i hope you will try the new zx-10r...;)
Where did you borrow it from Mr B?
Traffic infested shittery...... classic!!! Thanks Baron
Totally agree mate my Ducati is shit in town and lives on the clutch but i forgive it all that because i just love it !

Things are that bad in London that you dont want to ride other than the gs??
If you think a litre 4 banger is a bit gutless and hard to manage down low, I'd love to see you review the 4 Japanese 250cc 45hp 4 bangers from 1989-1990!
I love the new R1's when i rode one i fell in love with it. Unfortunately I haven't been able to ride the R1M yet. 😔 The brushed aluminum tank looks awesome along with the carbon accents. 👌🏻💯

Some say if you say Double bloody decker three times in the dark in front of a mirror baron would appear.
Would love to see you having a (quiet) blat on a Lightning LS-218.
omg 5:40 you drove way close to where i used to live in Putney :) there is an awesome SA butchers down there lol
I gotta say, I'm not keen on the R series, but I love the look of that speedo!
Lovely jubbly rodders new Baron vid
"Just don't accelerate and be a dick" fuck that's usually my first thought in the rain, oh look at this slippery ground would be a shame if i were to...

I’m looking at the new r1’s. I’m usually using it to go to work which is only 2 miles away or go to the canyons. I’m not using it to commute 10+ miles.
I like that you ride trackmode on the dash in london traffic =)
Best R1M review on youtube .
bit of a walk but there's the underground car park in chinatown or cavendish square
I cannot wait to get my R1M next spring, Got my Yamaha race experiance approved too! Im like a kid waiting for santa!!!
+RoadRunner Matt i chose Assen ;)
Nice. I chose Silverstone as have a busy schedule Afew trackdays ready for the Bike!
Solid vlog Baron. Thanks.
It labors to start because of the aggressive cam shaft.
Great video man!
TQ so much for the tour of london
You sue Perkins have amazing filtering skills
The yamaha r1m is the most comfiest everyday bike that has been released in the last 2 decades! even comfier than a postie bike
How tall are you?
That camera is amazing
When was this filmed? There's sunshine beating down!
Great video baron👍. Anymore ktm super juke videos to come?
worst problem tho, that jizzing all over 'everyday' ^_^
I can agree to few points here. Hi tech-yes, looking good-yes,best snack of thieves-yes,responsive throttle-yes,but.....bike most likely for short trips and city use as those gsxr's, r6,zx6,cbr's. rr.they give a lot of fun and are uncomfortable and have not much space to fit any panniers. If yuo treat is as second bike when having zzr1400 ( i have 3rd at the moment), hayabusa, z1000sx or fz1 then why not.
Nice review Baron!
But just wait for the Kawasaki H2 :P
A supercharged bike, just imagine the pull 😍
Please do a more detailed video on the R1M suspension, - how well can it cope with lousy roads; do different comp/rebound setting work in these scenarios and how good or bad is the R1M compared to the 2015+ S1000RR on such surfaces?
If the argument is the R!M a track bike, then how does it cope with bumpy tracks?
