Couldn't agree more about insurance companies. My bike is 16 years old and is worth probably just under £2000, but because it's my first bike and I have no money, I had to insure it third party with a ridiculous excess, just to afford the insurance. After 3 months someone attempts to steal it, realises they can't and instead vandalises it to the tune of £600. Can I claim on the insurance? No! Even if vandalism was covered on my insurance, the excess would have made it pointless anyway! Such a ridiculous system!
+Tom Ainscough Completely agree, Fully comp for a first year rider on a restricted 04 plate Kawasaki ZR7 worth about £1200 it would cost me £1400 on a standard policy with an acceptable excess. And still with Third party fire and theft it comes too £800, utterly ridiculous.
+JJC 604 It really is! The whole system is set up to make it as unappealing as possible to claim, because even if you do claim you get stung with a higher premium next time you renew. I have had numerous little scrapes in the car and when you work out the rise in premium from claiming, it always works out cheaper not to claim at all!
My AGV helmet used to steam up even if I'd had a wet dream the night before. Really annoying. I say if you've got other stuff that you're proud of, sell it and send people that way! It's the Baron doing other stuff! What's not to love. If folks don't like it, VLOG THEM!!
Was lucky enough to find out about 44T through Twitter so have followed it since the chat review about the s1000. The combo you have between channels is perfect, BvG for the cocking around vloggy stuff and 44T for the professional reviews (and also a load of cocking around). Alistair is just as fucking funny as BvG and Imo that channel will blow up over the next months/years once more people find out that it exists! Great vid as always Baron!
at 60FPS the camera shutter speed is much higher and so there is less light getting to the sensor which is why the image will appear darker and not a clear in lower light. Hope that helps. Good luck with everything and safe journeys.
+jake lintott My 125 (AJS ECO-2) Only costs £160 a year and im 19 with no no claims, i had a Suzuki GS125 and that cost the same (It got stolen) You really need to shop around, i found Entire cover tended to be the cheapest
Just to give some praise on 44teeth. It's an epic project and enjoy the antics. It's presented in away that it looks like two blokes f**king about with bikes which we all love. One of the best vids I think was ur ohlins. Keep em coming on both channels.
Speaking of second handing it... 44Teeth challenge - 5 grand each to buy second hand bikes and gear, and go on a road trip. Sell your shit when you get back and see who got the better bargain.
+BaronVonGrumble Makes it even more exciting, borrow the money from quick-quid and if you get a good enough deal maybe you can afford to pay the loan back (+1,000,000% APR) when you sell the bike. If that doesn't work out the next episode will be trying to flog your organs on the black market.
Hey Baron, Im glad to see you're back to vlogging again, there was a while there where I missed your vlogs as they were becoming fewer and far between. You're a great entertainer man, thanks!
I love 44Teeth man, it's always my first place to look at bike news. Love the style of both the videos and the articles on the site. Would be awesome to write for you if you expand in the future after I've finished uni :) keep doing what you're doing Baron
Mr Baron i have to say im not that into bikes ... i mean i have a 450 dirt bike but thats as far as it goes ... but i just love this channel listening to you ranting on is truly brilliant thank you sir .
Ha, that Mx5 was dwarfed by the humongous GS. I like reading 44T even though I'll probably never own 99% of the bikes on there I still enjoy the down to earth writing style. I like that it's two men fucking around and not a company, makes it more British, like two men in a shed inventing shit. :x
That complaint about airflow into the visor is certainly due to your windscreen. I got a new bike this year with a full windscreen and I'm planning to get an open face helmet to improve airflow. Looking at the Schuberth M1.
44 teeth is a cool channel and the chances are everyone on here is going to like the content on there, so bring it up whenever you want to, like you said its your channel - do what you want. I enjoy the content on both channels tbh, hope you enjoyed the bike show today, I went on the opening night and made a vlog about it.
I stumbled across 44teeth a few weeks back and really enjoyed what I found there. The behind the scenes footage from Alastair Fagan at the BSB are actually kinda fascinating. Though the 'interview' videos you do really need a secondary mic setup to help with audio quality (but I'm nit-picking).
Good to see this long update edit, well done with the 2POVs too, 44teeth is definitely a worthy Subscription, congrats on that work to u & Al. ;) Some serious filtering that Kraut thru there, glad it paid off with that Parking Spot !!!
ironic... i have the AGV AX8 Dual Evo and ride a KLR with a rally double bubble screen. there is NO wind on the face of the helmet and i have a horrible time with fogging up in cold weather. at first, i was completely blaming the helmet, but i rode my wife's bike that doesnt have as good wind deflection... and realized it was the lack of wind on the helemt that was the problem. However, with my KLR, I haven't had a problem riding with my face shield cracked open a bit.
I'm liking the duel view too, good stuff. '44 Teeth' is amazing, you should promote the shit out of it, not just for yourself but for the people who will enjoy the channel.
I've been subbed to 44 teeth for some time now and I love the videos on there, the inside ohlins suspension was particularly interesting. I like the 2 different angles and now your uploading in 30fps I can watch in 720p again yay.
we've got that insurance type here in holland (or at least, at my insurance).. basically a few levels of insurance. third party - just covers the other persons cost and such in an accident, the basic level third party + theft - same as the last, + theft insurance third party + theft + collision, same as previous + insurance cover for a one sided collision. third party + theft + collision PLUS, adds a insurance for totaling your bike, fll refund of cost price in the first 3 years. for my bike the prices start at about 10-15 euro a month for the basic, up to about 70-80 a month for the last one.. makes biking very cheap if you have a bike you're not too worried about..
So, London mayor wants to reduce congestion but reduces motorcycle parking!! You just have to laugh - we have idiots running London. Good to hear your your conversations Baron. Your upload rate is fine, liking the alternate cams (works good this way rather than two windows). For most people 1080p in either 30/60 has no difference. I would say only use 60 fps on tracks videos or scenic journeys. It's pointless to use 60 frames on dull days. Subbed 44teeth channel. My personal favourite is your gixxer vlogs. And didn't know you're actually a commoner, with a fake Baron accent ;).
Love the long vid, the 2 cameras and dont mind 30fps. Also, dont pressure yourself into doing 2 vids a week in 2016. I wouldn't want you to burn out because that would mean no more vids.
Wooooo a proper baron vlog! With regards to 1080/720, I don't watch stuff in 1080 because I really don't notice a difference and the vids run smoother on 720, do what you find easiest because people will still watch the videos regardless... Keep up the good work :)
I share your pain with the AGV helmet, I had a Compact which suffered the exact same problems, and it was super loud. I upgraded to a Shoei NXR and it's so much better in pretty much every conceivable way.
Hi Baron, The pinlock works fine for me. I noticed it has a few stands. You should try witch one works out for, so it doen't rattles. But wait until you ride with glasses on. I bought a pinlock because of the fog, but then i noticed my glasses also fog up. And there ain't anything pinlock-like for glasses :-) I also really like what you guys are doing with the 44 teeth-channel. 2 honest blokes reviewing bikes. It's different than the rest and i like it. BTW, thanks for sending the Jizzmachine-sticker. I'll be upgrading my machine soon and send you a picture. Cheers! Keep the good work coming!
oohh 3rd party insurance is mandatory in Qld Australia £68 every 6mths plus other registration cost or pay £131 3rd party for 12mths plus other registration , oh the price creeps and if you want full comp motorcycle insurance it's about £33 every three months..
+BaronVonGrumble Exhaust side , non exhaust side i guess thats why people comment what side you get on, depends on the bike obviously, some are more "hazardous" than others. I learnt that i should always get on/off on the left but ... f**k it, haha. Just dont be stupid and put that leg on the exhaust/other hot parts. Just my two cents. another note, loving the new angles!!
Once you get in with one or two PR's the invites to launches should come surely? I've been trying to drop subtle hints to Adam at CarWitter to let me cover bikes and not just car launches.
For the visor and pinlock, you have to tighten the screws on the tear off posts to tighten the fit of the pinlock, I don't know how it works but it does ☺️ then your helmet will be perfect
Hey Baron, do you have to insure your motorcycle against theft in the UK? Or can you just have liability insurance (AKA to cover you if you are at fault in an accident)?
+Kwaka Mike That makes no sense... In the US you pay for everything you add on... I don't think it would ever be cheaper, then again I don't shop for insurance much. Ha!
+Richard Bibeault I think insurance companies put the price up on purpose so they don't lose money if you choose third party or with theft cover, it's a nasty trick they can get away with.
There is a right and wrong side to get on a bike and there's a reason for it. Most bikes have their exhaust central OR on the right side. If you get used to getting on the bike on the LEFT side every time, you potentially avoid closer contact with a potentially hot exhaust, especially riding 2-up.
Try Canada....can only ride for roughly 6 months due to weather and still have to pay year long. Not to mention if you are a beginner you are looking at 2g's for a 250, if the company even insures sportbikes. I'm happy with 1k for my 600 with a clean record at 10 years under my belt
Good to have you back Baron. How long is it? I lived in Western Australia for many years; always had a bike and never bought extra insurance. Very basic 3rd party cover is provided by the State when you pay the annual road tax, which is no more expensive than here in this Septic Isle. This, of course, means that anybody can pass his/her test ; chop in the 250 and ride off on a new R1 without having to pay a fortune to a company already rolling in it. The UK is a country run by Bankers for Bankers!
i thought there is a alarm you can put on your bike that cant be tamped with that easy that texts your phone if its been moved or fucked with maybe some food for thought to look into for your bike
Good to see you back on the waves, And I'm glad that I can be a BvG Hipster - I subbed 44Teeth BEFORE it was mention in this vlog. So yeah. Fear me and my lumberjack shirt.
The 44 Channel is awesome. You guys are hilarious together and it's just refreshing with real reviews. I've been subscribed since day dot. Ignore the haters and keep doing what your doing. Be good to see you 2 on your own motorbike show on TV. That would be awesome.
Umm if you can get on the bike just fine from either side then by all means do what you like...but with the standard kickstand the bike leans left and makes it a lot easier to get on from the left side. In this vid that's what you've done...so I'm not sure what people are talking about if they say you're getting on from the wrong side?
good to hear from you bazza. love 44 teeth, push it every video mate haha! you need a end slate thing with links and all that bollox. also, I can't wait for my carbon jizz sticker!
Another great vid Baron. Subbed to 44 a few months ago. You're doing a great job on both channels. Don't understand the "sell out" comments, but don't listen to the trolls!!
Hi Baron, hope you get your mojo back and find the time and inspiration to get more vlogs out. Care to comment on a few more mundane things like what you do with your bikes in terms of cleaning and maintenance etc?
Wish you'd made a review of the AGV.. considered getting its DS version with a beak, but then found out the Caberg DS helmet, which would work better for me as I am a four-eyed creature (can't even wear lenses after the lasik-surgery).. and it's even worse weather and cold here in Estonia, so fogging would be a really bad problem here... (Caberg comes with a pinlock included)
If you have a Mac, Hazel by Noodlesoft is what I use to help with laziness. It's an app that reacts when stuff happens. I have it setup to when I plug in my camera, it transfers all the video off it and renames it. It doesn't help with editing though :(
Put a little bit of shaving cream on the inside of ur visor and then massage on the visor. After 20 sec clean it off and it won't fog up again for a couple of days. I usually use old spice but I think u can use any, I have yet to figure out what is the chemical that actually keeps it from fogging up.
+BaronVonGrumble Get one of those pinlock-visors. I've had the same annoying issue in the rain and/or cold. Got one of those pinlocks, and never had the annoying issue again
Cost me £3000 to insure a £6400 bike with ridiculous t&c and was the cheapest I was offered at the time... But what did I actually get now the years up? That could of been a lot of mods...
In the Netherlands we have a basic, compulsory, insurance which is the cheapest and only covers money caused by other people. Then we have like basic+ which is the cheapest but also covers theft, destruction, damage caused by weather, etcetera. And finally we have all risk insurance that also covers everything, so also thing you do yourself, but this insurance is usually practically twice the price of the basic+ so not very attractive compared to the basic+ unless you know you can't drive/ride.
+BaronVonGrumble just get yourself a ProGrip Race Vision No fog Lens. Its like the visor inserts you get on the BMW helmets. Works brilliant with my Shark S900 Fost, as well as my Shark Race R Pro Carbon, though you have to have a bit of patience when installing it. Ran into a issue when installing it on my Race R Pro, clearance issue with the visor, and air duct, but I eventually got it right. No more fogging up the lens.
+BaronVonGrumble I ride a KLR and am around 6ft tall. I find it much easier to mount the bike on the left peg and raise my leg over, it works fantastic.
Are there many electric bikes/bicycles in London now? I hear that they are making the car lanes narrower to make room for cycle lanes. More bent mirrors!
In Denmark we have basic insurance, what we call “responsibility insurance” witch is necessary, in order to drive the roads. It covers all you break basiclly. Then there is full insurance, which covers all, damage on the vehicle, theft, and so on. It’s great if you don’t have money to full insurance´, :) only thing is that we have to pay 2-3 times more for our vehicles than most other country’s :/
Interesting what you said about the frame rates on your vids Baron. I've been doing mine at 1080p 60fpm. and they look fine on PC. but on youtube they look crap. Ummmmmm 60fps I mean. Ha ha 60fpm! dam that would look weird!!!!!!!!
The beginning of this video you mentioned that there isn't a right and wrong side to get on the bike. I just did my motorcycle theory test and one of the questions was, Your bike is parked parallel to the curb, should you get on from the pavement side or the road side? I answered from the road side but I haven't been able to find a definitive answer. Does anyone know the correct answer? I passed but I got three questions wrong, may have been this one or not, no idea.
im starting the 2-3 camera thing as well dude...does make for better footage as it makes the videos far more interesting to watch,,ive done it a few times on recent videos..i think its cool...
Nigel Mansell Eyebrows was the alternative title.
Who's your insurance with?
Pin lock works for me? I have an agv
+BaronVonGrumble it was an Aston Martin Lagonda I think
+BaronVonGrumble Your voice doesn't match your eyebrows Baron.
just need the mustache to match then you'll be sorted :)
Couldn't agree more about insurance companies. My bike is 16 years old and is worth probably just under £2000, but because it's my first bike and I have no money, I had to insure it third party with a ridiculous excess, just to afford the insurance. Even if vandalism was covered on my insurance, the excess would have made it pointless anyway! Such a ridiculous system!
No such thing as excess on a third party policy?
+Owen Wales Sorry, it's third party fire and theft.
Based on multi references you made, it's apparent you read the comms & that is beyond decent. thanks.
+2ForFlinching no problem :)
You should be very proud of 44 Teeth Baron, it's an excellent channel & has been right from the start.
London traffic would drive me nuts. That's just crazy down there.
Rewatching lots of classic Baron lately. Miss these vids.
Baronnnn!!! After so long! One of the reasons i watch your videos if for the virtual tour in and around london. Kinda miss that city :)
My AGV helmet used to steam up even if I'd had a wet dream the night before. Really annoying. I say if you've got other stuff that you're proud of, sell it and send people that way! It's the Baron doing other stuff! What's not to love. If folks don't like it, VLOG THEM!!
+Andy Man Cam Double bloody Decker
I completely agree.
Bring on more 44T content dude! Love the banter ^.^
It cost me £470 to insure my 125 that cost £500 ?
He has loads of no claims and is older than us (guessing you're 17-19).. Mine cost £475 for third party only and I have a years no claims...
+jake lintott £450 (•_•) ( •_•)>⌐□-□ (⌐□_□) Honda cbf 1st bike not a full license
+jake lintott my insurance was £1400 for my cbr125r!

Speaking of second handing it... 44Teeth challenge - 5 grand each to buy second hand bikes and gear, and go on a road trip. Sell your shit when you get back and see who got the better bargain.
+Toby Archer exactly thats the content we want to make - but need to find £10k to fund it! ;)
+BaronVonGrumble Makes it even more exciting, borrow the money from quick-quid and if you get a good enough deal maybe you can afford to pay the loan back (+1,000,000% APR) when you sell the bike. If that doesn't work out the next episode will be trying to flog your organs on the black market.
just do under a grand each you can still find some cheeky deals
Because everyone has a spare 5k in the bank
+BaronVonGrumble croud funding
Hey Baron, Im glad to see you're back to vlogging again, there was a while there where I missed your vlogs as they were becoming fewer and far between. You're a great entertainer man, thanks!
Enjoying the 44 teeth videos so far, basically baron and sidekick testing bikes and mucking about. Informative and funny, good shiz!
Didn't think the uploads were slower, just glad we get to see your videos. Love them, just remember why you did them, to have a bloody laugh!
I love 44Teeth man, it's always my first place to look at bike news. Love the style of both the videos and the articles on the site. Would be awesome to write for you if you expand in the future after I've finished uni :) keep doing what you're doing Baron

I parked outside the Dorchester in a Volvo estate once and it was just the once so how's that for a sense of self entitlement.
How is the BMW R100 project going? Looking forward to seeing.

BvG and 44teeth are the best bike channels on youtube and the most entertaining, and that gold 44t sticker? very jizzy indeed!

I have same problem w/ my AGV Carbon Pista. Visor needs clicks. Other than that it is a perfect helmet if you a have slender face.
Love the 2 camera angle, nice break from the head shot makes me sea sick with all the head swivels. Ever considered a chest mount instead?
The dual angled cameras are looking sick, Baron. I'd say, keep them that way!
good to hear from you bazza. love 44 teeth, push it every video mate haha! you need a end slate thing with links and all that bollox. also, I can't wait for my carbon jizz sticker!
Also if you want a loud GS get the Leo vince full system. Sounds crazy
Agreed on resolution, fps and bitrate. Liking the bars cam.
Stick it in.
Hey Grumble can you list your gear, or do a video for what gear you use or recommend for various weather situations.
PLEASE keep 1080p, it makes such a difference! I love 44teeth btw!
It doesn't help with editing though :(
Oh and side note...44teeth needs the copyright date updating. :)
Put a little bit of shaving cream on the inside of ur visor and then massage on the visor. After 20 sec clean it off and it won't fog up again for a couple of days. I usually use old spice but I think u can use any, I have yet to figure out what is the chemical that actually keeps it from fogging up.
Btw you can do this to your bathroom mirror so it doesn't fog up after a shower
I have the same problem with my visor however the pinlock fixed it on my corsa but the top lip still fogs just under the pinlock :(
+BaronVonGrumble Get one of those pinlock-visors. I've had the same annoying issue in the rain and/or cold. Got one of those pinlocks, and never had the annoying issue again
For the steaming - try a fog city hyper shield, work very well!
Haha im glad your humor stays the same. Dont rush uploads mang, ive been feeling so lazy too.
Cost me £3000 to insure a £6400 bike with ridiculous t&c and was the cheapest I was offered at the time... But what did I actually get now the years up? That could of been a lot of mods...
Liking the new camera angle! Is the bar mounted cam a Drift Stealth 2?
This vlog is pure moto-vlogging at its best.
I went to the nec bike show yesterday (Sunday). Didn't feel as big as last year but still pretty decent. You'll like the babes on show baron :)
By the way I find the 2 angle cam thing awesome! Keep it up bvg :)
+Ben Stah i like it too! also helps if i want to cut something.. say a speedo.. i can just cut the shot :)
+BaronVonGrumble Hahaha I like this type of thinking.. ;)
+BaronVonGrumble Good way of hiding your speed I surpose!
+BaronVonGrumble oldmantriple uses black tape..I think that works better.
I have the corsa buy the insert for the inside of the shield
+BaronVonGrumble just get yourself a ProGrip Race Vision No fog Lens. Its like the visor inserts you get on the BMW helmets. Works brilliant with my Shark S900 Fost, as well as my Shark Race R Pro Carbon, though you have to have a bit of patience when installing it. Ran into a issue when installing it on my Race R Pro, clearance issue with the visor, and air duct, but I eventually got it right. No more fogging up the lens.
+BaronVonGrumble I ride a KLR and am around 6ft tall. I find it much easier to mount the bike on the left peg and raise my leg over, it works fantastic.
you are suppose to get on from the left side as that is the side closest to the pavement
Are there many electric bikes/bicycles in London now? I hear that they are making the car lanes narrower to make room for cycle lanes. More bent mirrors!
What Dainese Jacket are you wearing?
Big fan of their gear and looking for a winter jacket!
Weird the pinlock doesn't work. Maybe it isn't mounted properly?
You can't get 3rd party insurance in the UK?
Baron you could use a bike cover to cover your ktm so its not as eyecatching to people who are walking or driving past
Do they not have liability-only insurance in the UK?
Use your pin-lock on your helmet for a non fogging effect. Pin-Lock anti-fog inserts. Goes on the inside of your visor.
+marshmellowfjr he has one
