- We are at quarters of District of Columbia Fire Department Engine 10, Truck 13, and Medic 10, House of Pain, at 1342 Florida Avenue NE, where we see Truck 13 as it gets toned out to respond to a local alarm for an odor of gas outside at 3739 12th Street NE between Otis Street NE and Perry Street NE. Truck 13 was the sole truck on the run. Engine 17 was the sole engine on the run. Engine 10 was out on another run at the time, so it wasn't in quarters. Truck 13 is a 2015 Spartan Gladiator Classic tractor drawn aerial tiller ladder with a 100 foot mid-mount aerial. Enjoy the sounds of the tones as they go off, as well as the view of the rig as it responds. If you have any questions about the video, feel free to message me. Comments are welcome. Very impressive! They certainly know exactly how to respond!
Very nice capture. Nice to see most or all vehicles paying attention.
Thanks! Yes, always good to see traffic move over for emergency responders.
Beautiful truck 13
Nice Catch. Question: is that the Busiest Firehouse of Washington DC? Because ive heard it is
I'm not sure
They share the same house with Engine 10? Engine 10 for years was getting the most fire calls NATIONALLY. Not sure if it still holds true.
They are known as the "House of Pain"
That’s a truck I’ve never seen before. What’s the trailer?
It’s called a tiller truck. The front is a tractor, kind of like a semi. The rear is a trailer, which the compartments and ladder are on, and it is on a separate axle, which is driven by a firefighter in the rear called a tillerman. Although it is longer, it can turn around sharper corners, and is more maneuverable due to the rear tillerman steering the rear!
Very nice what Engine is in that house 🇺🇸
Engine 10
