    I guess the Japanese PS2 Orochi Hen would be the definitive edition to play for those who love both the OST and AST?

    My cousin bought the saturn version, while I got the ps1 version. The loading times on the ps1 were terrible, but I still had fun with it. Yeah, 96 arranged soundtrack was the best.

    I really love your work 👍 It’s very interesting 👍 Saturn version is very good. About LOADING, could you compare with NeoGeo CDZ please ?
    It’s very interesting too. I think CDZ Loading is like Saturn.

      Saturn has a dedicated Hitachi SH1 just for the CD-ROM not to mention additional memory as cache. This might explain the faster load times

      @@nng1979 old vid, but also the 68000 doesn't have enough bandwidth to take advantage of the CD format. This is why some later games show no improvement on the CDZ. I'm thinking SNK probably could have gone with a 68020 and downclocked back to 12.5mhz to match the original CPU; but it would have had a full 32-bit bus. but you know what they say about hind-sight.

    Great video breakdown. I just purchased 96 for the Sega Saturn and other than loading in between rounds (not long but it does break up the action) the game is great. Looks great and plays great. So far I own 95 and 96. Will prob just get 97 one day to complete on the Saturn.

    Excelente vídeo, amigo. Sempre quis saber qual seria a melhor versão pra jogar cada Kof que foi lançado até o 2002. Com essas suas comparações me ajuda muito em tomar minha decisão. Parabéns pelo esforço, visto que não é nada fácil produzir esse tipo de conteúdo. Ansioso pelo Kof 98 e 99 :D

    • @carlosaugusto9821
      @carlosaugusto9821 4 роки тому

      Bom, se você procura saber os melhores ports de console, então como regra prática você pode decidir que a versão Saturno ou Neogeo (se tiver) são melhores que de Ps1, e Neogeo muitas vezes melhor que Saturno. Isso pode até não funcionar em todos os casos, mas aí naquele caso dificilmente o erro vai ter sido muito grande.

    Canal perfeito nas comparações, merecia mais visualizações.
    Pra mim, desses KOF port pro Saturn, o melhor foi o 95, pois converteram parte da ROM para o cartucho, algo que poderiam ter feito com os jogos seguintes, pois o 95 praticamente nem loading tem.

    The sound being in mono on the saturn is most likely a programming oversight since the music plays in stereo when you go to the saturn dashboard and play the tracks from there. too bad there's no in-game option to make it stereo.

  • @Bloodreign1
    @Bloodreign1 5 років тому +1

    I do like videos like these to see differences, but I am not one to count animation frames per port myself, nor really care, so long as I have fun playing. Because that's what counts in the end.
    I have both versions PS1 and Saturn, my Saturn version runs fine with an Action Replay 4MB cart due to it's 1MB function, I get no glitches at all. I also notice punches and kicks sound very weak on the Saturn port, even on real hardware, seems like SNK did some heavy sound compression with this and KoF 97 (and the Samurai Spirits games as well). I'd venture to say, other than Metal Slug, every SNK fighter, like Capcom fighters, had sound compression to save space for RAM.

      A câmera lenta ajuda a perceber melhor algumas diferenças menos evidentes de gráficos e/ou animação, mas que ainda assim vale a pena serem citadas em um vídeo de comparação. Já que o canal tem uma abordagem mais técnica, não de comparações superficiais.
