    I liked this a lot and found it very useful. Please expand this list. Maybe think in terms of things you will need to know how to way in your first 72 hours in the country. Things like "where is X" or "how do I get to X" or maybe how to talk to someone at the hotel counter or give directions to a taxi driver. I don't really know what to list here. These first 10 were so much fun that I just want more. Thanks.

    Actually most of the filipinos nowadays use TAGLISH or tagalogEnglish (Mix) Lets use the example of "Kailan ang iyong kaarawan.?" You can also say "Kailan Birthday mo?" And you can answer "Sa December 25." Instead of using "Ikaw-siyam ng desyembre." Because thats too long. :) And you can introduce yourself as "Hi/hello. Ako nga pala si Erika. Nice to meet you." As simple as that :) Because filipinos can understand English and we're not literally speak pure tagalog words.

    Erica, do you kow, many words in Filipino almost the same with Indonesian language, in Filipino Salamat = thank you, in Indonesia Selamat is Save, or to say greeting to say Selamat pagi -Good morning etc, apat= empat, lima = lima, anim = enam, pitu = pitu, walo=walu, ako = aku, interesting... :) may be there are many other words , i just realize when i watched your vidoes.

      it depends....but in general it means "in", but you can also use it for other prepositions for places ......it can also mean "through" or "by" etc. and is usually stick with other words to work as a preposition like "sa ibabaw" (on), "sa ilalim" (under), "sa ibaba" (below), "sa pamamagitan" (through/by *an instrument/process) "sa pagitan" or "sa gitna" (in between/between) "mula sa " (from) "galing sa " (from *a place)......

      @artesiningart4961 6 років тому +2

      in .......in the house .....sa loob ng bahay
      at.......at the 2nd street.....sa ikalawang kalye
      by.....by the sea.........sa may tabing-dagat
      through......through the years......sa pagdaan ng mga panahon
      on......on the table.............sa ibabaw ng mesa
      under......under the bed........sa ilalim ng kama
      through/by.....made by turning.......ginawa sa pamamagita ng pag-ikot
      between........between me and you......sa pagitan nating dalawa/sa pagitan natin
      from.........I am from my office.......Ako ay nagmula/nanggaling sa aking opisina/Ako ay mula/galing sa akng opisina
      from......I came from the Philippines....Ako ay galing sa Pilipinas
      basically it means "in" or "at" as one word but it combines with other words to form other prepositions.

    • @FilipinoPod101
      @FilipinoPod101  5 років тому +1

      Hi Adrian!
      Great question. They're all pronouns that mean you but differ in how they're used.
      Ikaw - you, singular usually used at the start of he sentence
      Ka - you, singular usually placed after the verb
      Kayo - you but refers to more than one person.
      Halimbawa:
      Ikaw ay maganda.
      Kumain ka na ba?
      Kayo ba ay papasok?
      If you ever have any questions feel free to leave us a comment. Salamat!

      Before Filipino language became and called as "Filipino" it was the regional language "Tagalog" way back then and people are still using both interchangeably. In real meaning, Tagalog is now just a regional language and Filipino is the name for the national language. Again, they're just the same in language but different in prestige and number of words. Tagalog is less inclusive than Filipino. Filipino uses a lot of words from Tagalog and other languages of the Philippines that are not Tagalog.

      Here's what you should say: Anong pangalan ng asawa mo? (Asawa= person your married to) hope this helps, thank you for learning our language~
