Mona, if I may reply, yes use an oven, preheated. Cupcakes are usually baked at 350 f, bake 20 - 25 minutes, until a tester comes out clean. There is a recipe very similar to this posted on genuiskitchen, Moms Chocolate Cupcakes. Not identical but very similar sans the frosting.
My vegan chocolate coffee cupcakes usually take 14-16 minutes to bake at 350°F. When I make cupcakes, they take me 14-22 minutes to bake depending on the wet mix of the batter. I'm afraid if I go to 25 minutes, they'll burn. Lol
I just made these, and while I haven't gotten to eat them yet because they're still cooling, they smell SO GOOD. I'm dying to try them. Going to use a different, non-chocolate frosting though. Be warned: This made around 30 cupcakes. So if you want less, adjust accordingly.
I’ve tried it and it was amazing! The tofu makes the frosting so creamy, but I would recommend using one or two tbsp instead of 3 because it was a little too sweet for me! The cupcakes without the frosting were just the right amount of sweet though.
I just stumbled upon your comment. I am from Austria where we don't use "cups" either, but I informed myself: measuring cups are pretty common in the US, they often come in different sizes like "1/2 cup", "1/4 cup" and so on. The important thing is the proportion of ingredients. But you can use any kind of teacup or mug (as long as it is not super tiny or really huge). A german cooker tried out different types of "cups" / mugs and compared the amount of water or flour, and it mostly worked! You can also use online converters.
Don't worry about cups, simple use the weight equivalents for example, a cup of flour weighs 5 ounces*, a cup of veg oil weighs 7 ounces, a cup of granulated sugar weighs 7 ounces. If you need to convert ounces to metric, there are appr 28.35 grams to an ounce, so do the math.*There are many opinions on how much a cup of flour weighs. This is because flour is easily compacted, so unlike a liquid ingredient or granulated sugar, it is easy to obtain different weights from a cup of flour measured by volume. I believe most recipes are developed using the scoop and sweep method, which will usually result in a cup weighing 5 ounces. But if your baked goods end up dry and dense, try cutting back on the flour, as little as 4.25 ounce per cup.

I’m confused, I thought silken tofu and extra firm are different

can I use any type of oil or does it have to be veg
They are sooooo good ❤
I always put my frosting in a ziplock and pipe it on.. teachers always ask me where I bought my kids cupcakes from.. made it at home 😁
What do we do if we’re allergic to tofu?
Yummy
so beautiful!
so cool
Mayim,s vegan cupcakes look good
2 cups of sugar? Uhhhh no
why the rush? jumping the gun
Being honest I didn't enjoy this. The vinegar was way to noticable :(
I need to try dis. lol :)
she seems kind of pushy with Rachael.but other then that it looks delicious! delicious 😋
Mayim is a bit of a nutjob. See her interview with Howard Stern, she's really out there.
The muffins in the intro baked unevenly and that bothers me deeply.
Omg Rachel Ray is so annoying.
I’m sorry this looks terrible.. atleast they like it though.
and not at all healthy. So many vegans think they are the healthiest but this is one account that proves not.
Katelyn Vegan does not equal healthy. Nobody said that it did
Tofu in a cupcake frosting?? You're not giving veganism a good name with that combination... Use margerine or coconut oil instead.
But I am not a vegan. I am vegetarian
Ew she is sooo condescending
not healthy though lol
Cidi Huia no shit Sherlock
Chloe Elizabeth names cidi, not sherlock. 😆😆😆
Cidi Huia sure acting like a Sherlock
Chloe Elizabeth not really. sherlock is a detective.. i wasnt investigating, merely pointing out the obvious. childs play darling.
