and then when they went to the live stage task Mel dropped the f-bomb... I know she said bollocks during the giant ball task but that surprised me so much! They really broke her during this show lmao
There have been several tasks in prior series where Alex had to eat what the contestants cooked up and much of it was horrible. This was a great reversal.

Alex has said they probably won't be doing that because they want people to be competitive and it would be kind of weird to reward people for failing. I think that makes sense. A better series would be inviting back all the runner-ups for a second chance, imo.

@@yogzoth I mean, you gotta admit that in quite a lot of cases hugh thought a bit too much out of the box. And lets be fair, the times where Hugh was disqualified or gained a penalty was when it was something that was funnier if it was failed than if it was given points.
@@devangliya7131 Yes I have to say for some reason I liked Noel the least I ever have here on this show. I usually really like him. Maybe it's because some of the tasks seemed unfairly to be giving him an advantage...all the art related stuff. Hugh said he wasn't good at art, but I thought he was pretty good. Noel and the camo in the fruit basket thing just annoyed me! He should have hidden inside one of the bench seats or something...I don't know, just nobody else used a camera trick so it seemed unfair.
I always thought that they put Greg in a higher chair than Alex to achieve the comedic size difference, but seeing him stand up and tower over Noel turns out he's just a very big man.
I mean, they do play with the chair heights to make him look even taller as the TM - but most of it just Greg's stature general because he is 6 feet taller than Alex, whose actually taller than average (which the average male is 5'9"). Noel is 5'11" which is pretty damn tall (but shorter than Alex).
I'm not sure anyone could get Alex further of his comfort zone while remaining in the confines of law and international treaty, than Rhodri Paul Gilbert.
I like how Mel tricked the Taskmaster into giving a point for snorting. Her face gave her away though - she looked around to her friends like school kids do when they get one over on the teacher.
Wasn't a trick! The version in the episode was edited down a bit more. In the clip of just that task here on the channel it's a bit longer and Greg does mention an extra point.
I feel like Hugh got a raw shake this season. He was consistently dismissed as someone who’s always terrible and barely tries. But, I think he often made a good faith attempt, and he sometimes did a decent job.
He put in effort on most of them. He just didn't do anything flashy. He was very no-nonsense for most of the tasks. I think that's why. It was practical, but this is a comedy show and he ended up being the straight man.
Hugh was the only one to genuinely construct a decent sandwich and he lost? I just feel bad for him. He honestly deserved to win with his lateral thinking throughout the whole competition.
It started to piss me off at this point he actually does the tasks he does them well and he does them intelligently and he always loses. Noel on the other hand doesn't like a four year old who is drunk on power and his own admiration and somehow he manages to win almost every time.
@@nicholasplamondon3991 don't get mad at Noel! His tasks completions we're always clever and relevant, let's not forget this show is entertainment. If you're going to sling mud at anyone it should be Greg who clearly treated Hugh unfairly
I honestly thought there would be a secret task revealed at the end where they showed an overall task throughout the series. That each contestant had to do something in particular as much as possible. Like Joe had to kiss Gregs portrait as often as possible or Mel had to collect as much red seals from the tasks as possible.
@@ChrisBacon3320 I think there is one season where they do something like that. But I can't remember if it's the original one, NZ, or the Yogscast parody.
I have to admit: when I started this series I thought Mel would just be there to set up everyone else's punchlines, but in the end she has made me laugh out loud more than anyone. Bloody love her!
Goodbye to the most wholesome cast on taskmaster. None of the other teams had the family feeling down as much as this one. Definitely my favourite, with 7's cast right behind. 🖤
Series 4 is probably my favorite but I would argue that the Series 5 cast was even closer than this one. By the end of it, they all truly felt like a group of friends who'd keep in touch with each other long after the series ended. There was even a group hug!
@@nommyyt well Alex and Mark are actual friends, and most of these comedians know each other. I love S5 but Aisling is too jarring with the others and there's even one moment where Sally ignores her completely.
@@itsokay7989 You may have felt that way but the Series 5 cast certainly didn't. Greg said that cast made a group chat after the show ended and in one of Sally's interviews (not a TM-specific one, just a random one about her career), she said one of the highlights of doing TM was meeting Aisling Bea. Also, if you're going to base your entire assumption on one contestant ignoring the other (which Sally definitely didn't), then I suppose you think Hugh and Noel hated each other in this series. They didn't have a single interaction in the entire show.
This might be my favorite season. The fact that Alex, knowing the full task, still participated in Noel's "sandwich", is why this show is brilliant. Thank you little Alex Horne! 💓
Not only that but fans who otherwise wouldn't have even heard of the show or, for that matter, lots of these comedians. Several blessings all because this channel exists.

I think the moments of Greg and Alex breaking character are the funniest moments of the show, because they usually do so well sticking to their Evil Overlord and Loyal Sidekick roles that when something makes them crack, it's REALLY good.
I gotta say this series had a hidden element that was very nice in the form of the lovely interactiens between Noel, Mel and Lolly. Just to seem them hug and celebrate eachothers victories on stage is lovely
Alex pointing out the Monopoly sets’ worth, the entire exotic sandwich mess, Noel marrying a rubber duck, I’m sitting on 2 grand, “we’ve both got crushingly low self esteem HAVEN’T YOU”… I love this episode
It said whoever brings in the most cash. It did not specify that it had to be legal tender. Ruling all that Monopoly money invalid is ignoring the fact that it is game cash.
I don't mind him making his own rules, but he should be consistent in applying them to all the contestants. Noel's currency is totally made up and still scored better than Monopoly + real cash and the dong
Mel really love her jeans overall. She wore it twice in Taskmaster and Big Fat Quiz and WILTY. Presumably recorded at same day. So nice to see celebrity very relaxed about their wardrobe, and more about her personal quality. Love Mel.
Nice catch on the different shows, but really? All filmed on the same day? Isn't it more likely that she just, y'know, doesn't burn every outfit immediately after wearing?

In an interview he said some people are leaders and some sidekicks. he born to be a sidekick. In the interview they talk about the show and how Alex pretty much produce everything. The video is great. Answer a lot questions about the show and behind the scenes.
Hugh was too smart for this show. I feel he got robbed so many times.
Too true. Greg lets so many people get away with so much shit but just always brought the hammer down on our Hughie boy.
@@yogzoth Hughie boy 😂😂
@@yogzoth I mean, you gotta admit that in quite a lot of cases hugh thought a bit too much out of the box. And lets be fair, the times where Hugh was disqualified or gained a penalty was when it was something that was funnier if it was failed than if it was given points.
Also, Noel got so many undeserving points along the way
@@devangliya7131 Yes I have to say for some reason I liked Noel the least I ever have here on this show.
He’s 6’8”, one inch taller than Richard Osman.
And you're right, his chair is taller, which adds to the visual effect.
That is because Alex is quite tall too!
I have short legs and most chairs are too high for me and it can get pretty uncomfortable; I can imagine Greg has the same problem in reverse.
Mel, having been the subject of that sacharin sweet upbeat montage, dropping the F bomb in the last task of the series final is phenomenal.
Yes! Why is no one talking about that lmao I was so surprised 💀
@@evabailey3860 im searching for comments about that
Even a lovely lady like Mel has a breaking point, and hers was the median duck.
"I made him look away and i slipped it in his box"
Wow, just wow.
"This is the furthest out of my comfort zone i've ever been." Oh little Alex... Just you wait until you meet Rhod. The things he does to you...
I'm not sure anyone could get Alex further of his comfort zone while remaining in the confines of law and international treaty, than Rhodri Paul Gilbert.
Greg said what we were all thinking when he accused Noel of secretly being a lad.
what
I had just read that q5 more episodes will be on this year but we're is episode 5 to 9 on this channel???? I'm truly addicted to it 😂😂😭😅😭😅
@@catte_6376 greg accuses him instead of being this artsy guy, the way he played golf shows he's just a "dudebro".
@@johnlong8952 is that what a "lad" is?
Im familiar with the word, just not its regional colloquial meaning.
With what I see here in this comment section, I think someone needs to call Susie Dent!
12:14
Still feels like more evidence that Mel is secretly a child.
And she won the only episode with a good prize by one point
I feel like Hugh got a raw shake this season. He was consistently dismissed as someone who’s always terrible and barely tries. But, I think he often made a good faith attempt, and he sometimes did a decent job.
He put in effort on most of them. He just didn't do anything flashy. He was very no-nonsense for most of the tasks. I think that's why. It was practical, but this is a comedy show and he ended up being the straight man.
He brought a medal for the worst performance to the prize task for most boastful possession. It's a gag role he took on wilfully.
The end of Lollie's bit with the coconut took me right back to Paul with the rabbit. "Bastard's crying, innit?"
Yeah he was definitely underrated IMO
@@nicholasplamondon3991 don't get mad at Noel! His tasks completions we're always clever and relevant, let's not forget this show is entertainment. If you're going to sling mud at anyone it should be Greg who clearly treated Hugh unfairly
If all of them made a regular, decent sandwich, why would you even watch this? What would be the USP of this program?
The joke about putting Hugh down didn't age well over the season.
Alex’s face when Greg said he’s only allowed to slither around like a snake was absolute gold. Nobody knew what he was going to say
Or when Alex pretends to lick his shoulder after Greg says he forces Alex to wash himself like a giant cat.
I honestly thought there would be a secret task revealed at the end where they showed an overall task throughout the series. That each contestant had to do something in particular as much as possible. Like Joe had to kiss Gregs portrait as often as possible or Mel had to collect as much red seals from the tasks as possible.
Such a cool idea. Maybe in another series they'll try it.
That's a cool thought!
@@ChrisBacon3320 I think there is one season where they do something like that. But I can't remember if it's the original one, NZ, or the Yogscast parody.
No surprise Noel won the series. Greg has such an incredible and obvious crush on the man.
Who doesn't? 💚

@@aussiechris5904 I'm pretty sure that was a rhetorical question
Hugh saying how the golf stick is too large and then instantly moving to Noel breaking it to make it shorter will never not make me laugh
That was a snooker cue, like a pool cue but longer.
I’ve faulted Noel for his interpretations of tasks before (like “hiding” in a green screen), but his sandwich was 100% the most exotic. Well done.

I like how Mel was so happy this whole series, and then she finally cracked and said the f word because she didn't know what size duck to draw.
This is how to train people. Upload every week at the same time, then do not upload at that time one week, and watch them get scared!
I was actually confused on whether or not it was Tuesday
i got confused for a bit too lmao
Actually got really scared
Well you never know if the uploader got ill or not 😅
This might be my favorite season. The fact that Alex, knowing the full task, still participated in Noel's "sandwich", is why this show is brilliant.
Thank you little Alex Horne! 💓
THIS was my favourite series so far ngl... Gonna miss these 5 together making fun of each other but supporting each other at the same time!!

Yes I am binge watching!
The key to winning the final challenge is to draw as many (nearly) identical ducks as possible in the time allotted, guaranteeing that the median duck was one you drew.
The way Alex told Mel it was an M&M stuck up her nose was the purest funniest thing DEAR GOSH
I swear Mel getting an M&M's up her noes had me FLYING off my seat!!! Lmaooo
“That’s a very very very long thing isn’t it?”

I love how Mel and Hugh communicate silently at 21:07 - like "the parents" they are 😂
Good spot!
Getting Mel to drop the F bomb during the median duck challenge is legendary. Did not see that coming.
Hugh is both a character from a Sophocles tragedy, and a perfect blend of Richard Osman's genius, Joe Wilkinson's stubbornness and crying-clown act, Al Murray's demented-but-fun-uncle-type personality, and Romesh Ranganathan's two "fuck it, whatever, that'll do" OR "I'm going all-in and nothing can stop me" attitudes.
And he's brilliant for it.
Joe really did cry a lot. i miss that.
When he confirmed he knew exactly what was on page 17 I couldn't have been more surprised
Hugh deserved to be much higher up in the prize task. And, at the very least, you can’t put him under Noel, who didn’t even bring in actual money.
At least Hugh brought in the equivalent of 72 pounds. Noel basically just brought in paper with no value.
Mel cursing at 38:32 threw me off for a second
Haha me too! I had to go back because I couldn't believe it!
Me too! I don't think I've ever heard her swear in my life haha
Yay for the no-more-censoring-policy!

Nope, Noel was 8 points ahead, and the scoring system of that task meant Noel would have got 3 points either way because they didn't move up as others went down
Oh God, the change in Mel's expression when Lolly pulled out 2000£ in cash!
Joe stealing things whenever he leaves is my favourite ongoing joke in the show.

I don't mind him making his own rules, but he should be consistent in applying them to all the contestants. Noel's currency is totally made up and still scored better than Monopoly + real cash and the dong
