@@reconstruct23 It's actually also on their UA-cam channel, just geo blocked for some regions I suppose. I'm in Germany and was able to watch season 12 on this channel.
I personally thought Hugh's cake destruction was the best because he clearly took his time and actually created a design out of the pieces. This is still probably my favourite series of Taskmaster, only missing one of my favourite comedian, Mr Bob Mortimer, but he's in series 5 so it's ok.
Lolly is the one that logic applies to. I'm fairly sure she also took her time, and she took great care with her design to really make it beautiful - she even used the fruit for shading!
It’s even funnier when you see the outtakes where it was originally joe lycetts joke but they told them to do another take so then Greg made the joke but I guess they went with the one where Alex did the joke instead. If you want to see outtake go to UKTV on UA-cam and if you have android use turbo VPN to change your location to the uk and you can see all the blocked content although it doesn’t work for iOS as you would have to buy a subscription to switch
I was also disappointed by that the first time I saw it, but then I thought that actually Joe tasting it at the end adds to it - because it proves that, even though it stayed mostly intact, it has been destroyed as a cake. 😁

For the duck challenge, I was expecting Greg to tell everyone but Noel they don't get any points because the big duck next to them didn't get knocked over.
"If she can juice a lime with a shoe" sounds like one of those sentences that should be a saying. You know, to mean really difficult. Kinda like "Sure your girlfriend is getting back together with you if you can juice a lime with a shoe".
would be great if it had an implied meaning of "you have an advantage/it's a little less hard for you, but it's definitely still fuckupable" "Sure your parents are alumni, but your granddad hasn't made a donation that big again since the 80s and your grades are pretty mid. You might get in, if you can juice a lime with a shoe"
Big respect to Lolly for how she reacted to being put in 4th because Greg was bitter, Ed Gamble and James Acaster would still have taken it well, but they'd also have been quietly seething (understandably so). Lolly rolled with the joke
I feel like nobody in this series took the games too seriously like some other contestants on other series. I'm a very not-competitive person which is why I think I like this series so much. Hugh was criminally robbed of points in this series and Noel just skated by on mediocre work because of favoritism, but everyone took it in stride and had fun with all the tasks anyway. I rewatch this series all the time because it's just so great.
What’s nice about rewatching Taskmaster is that suddenly that “Mel and Shoe” joke from Alex makes sense after so many series! Consistently rewarding, this show.
I thought it would be hard to assemble a cast as good as the first series. I was wrong, this cast is likely to be so completely bonkers that it will eclipse all previous seasons.
Favourite highlights : 3:53 your colleague lied to me (charity) 8:12 I just need lots of knifes *evil laugh* 9:45 "exactly what a serial killer would say" 11:30 absolute delight 22:51 IMAGE of me 23:38 Michael Jackson (man in the mirror) "He didn't change his ways, did he?" 24:56 BLACK WOMAN INTO A FAT BALD WHITE MAN 25:03 in many ways it is a Micheal Jackson story 40:44 a lime with a shoe 43:08 mel and sue/shoe (bake off)
Greg and Alex carry the early episodes of each series with their wit. Once the dynamics of the new players are established they each start to contribute more, but I think the hosts should not go unrecognized
I thought it was from the planets!!!!! Thanks a lot. Although Holst would probably not appreciate it being used with this sort of disregarding irony... (Or just because he wanted people to listen to one if his other works, goddamit)
Yes!! One of my top 3 Taskmaster series's (4,5,7). This is the most wholesome group of them all. They're like a big family, and it's just a great series.
Going off of all the seasons they seem to put at least one of Greg's friends in every other season so he has someone to pick on. They all seem to love the dynamic.
Look, I know that this is all just silly fun and that the humor aspect is far more important than the actual competition aspect. However, I do think that it’s B.S. that all 3 of the gents weren’t disqualified from the live task for using both hands. Poor Lollie got screwed. Hahaha.
Oh this season is going to be goooooood! Hugh's deadpan humor, Lycetts incredible chaotic pettyness and the "woke up and chose violence" of Mel and Noel! 😂♥️♥️♥️ I don't know Lolly yet, so I'm guessing she must be more calm and rational.... But I can't wait to be proven wrong! 😂😂😂
Lolly was totally robbed on the caricature too. It might not have been as good a drawing but it was the most accurate caricature, she even got the model's style of clothes right. And she actually juiced her fruit one-handed in the last task.
We love the "they lied and said it was for charity" running gag, don't we? (Including, if you may, the time Richard guilt tripped Greg into giving him first place in the present task by actually giving to a charity.)
If I were the Taskmaster, I would have docked Noel points for missing the opportunity to have David Suchet sign a vegetable marrow, since Poirot repeatedly mentions them in the books. Why would you use a different vegetable. An inexcusable error. This is what I'm choosing to care about today.

update: they just finished showing season 12 in UK, I saw it with a vpn, but I believe its available on Daily Motion (a UA-cam competitor)
@@reconstruct23 It's actually also on their UA-cam channel, just geo blocked for some regions I suppose. I'm in Germany and was able to watch season 12 on this channel.
"Where are you looking now?"
"Im back at school"
XD Alex really is the backbone of this show.
Funny thing is, Hugh did forge Malcolm X's signature somewhat accurately. According to Wikipedia at least.
Plot twist: Hugh also forged the Wikipedia article
@@MrCh0o imagine if you open the wiki page and the signature section is just that banana with the x on it
@@liamw6562 what bananas do you eat that are orange

I personally thought Hugh's cake destruction was the best because he clearly took his time and actually created a design out of the pieces. This is still probably my favourite series of Taskmaster, only missing one of my favourite comedian, Mr Bob Mortimer, but he's in series 5 so it's ok.
I fundamentally disagree
@@thehoneyeffect That's fine. You do you
Lolly is the one that logic applies to. I'm fairly sure she also took her time, and she took great care with her design to really make it beautiful - she even used the fruit for shading!
I only just realized, but has Mel been taking the seals from the tasks all season?
Yes
“To save them” she says later. Dunno what she did with them all
@@glynnL she said in one episode she wanted to melt them down but idk if she meant it or not. Kept some as momentos perhaps
I legit thought in that one clip she was taking some of the green stuff from the envelope because it was "satisfying" lol.
Glenn Long Well she saved them
I'm already obsessed with Lolly's sweet demeanor, Joe's creativity, Noel's style, Mel's straight-forwardness and Hugh's epic tactics
"Mel and Shoe"
**slow clap**
I finally got the joke. Thanks!
@@josefv1154 I'm still missing it, what is the joke?
@@eriesara6424 Mel and Shoe=Mel and Sue, two hosts of The Great British Bake Off
@@josefv1154 I knew it probably had something to do with GBBO! I couldn't quite connect the dots. Thank you!
11:52 that was anticlimactic. I wanted to see the cake explode to bits but it pretty much stayed whole lol
thought the exact same thing haha
A fair point, but I think trying to learn fireworks choreography in 30 minutes would probably end-up being an A&E surgeon's best dinner-party story.
I was also disappointed by that the first time I saw it, but then I thought that actually Joe tasting it at the end adds to it - because it proves that, even though it stayed mostly intact, it has been destroyed as a cake. 😁
I know for many people this safed them through the high time of the pandemic.
I discovered this just know and it's also saving me through my quarantine.
Somehow managed to avoid getting covid till now and currently isolating watching all of taskmaster.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for putting these on UA-cam
It's hilarious how you can see Joe shaking his head when Alex said "Mel and shoe", because Joe was the one who made that pun first hahaha
Was that a pun? Sure, it sounds like "melon shoe," but... "melon shoe" isn't a phrase or anything, so...
@@KelpTheGreat Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins are a comedy duo
@@Kernel15 Oh, I didn't connect "Sue" with "shoe," lol. I get it now, thanks!
For the duck challenge, I was expecting Greg to tell everyone but Noel they don't get any points because the big duck next to them didn't get knocked over.
Me too 🤷♀️
"If she can juice a lime with a shoe" sounds like one of those sentences that should be a saying. You know, to mean really difficult. Kinda like "Sure your girlfriend is getting back together with you if you can juice a lime with a shoe".
would be great if it had an implied meaning of "you have an advantage/it's a little less hard for you, but it's definitely still fuckupable"
"Sure your parents are alumni, but your granddad hasn't made a donation that big again since the 80s and your grades are pretty mid. You might get in, if you can juice a lime with a shoe"
I came in excited for Noel's chaos but oh boy Hugh....
Hugh is a fucking revelation!
Mind you she did complain about not getting any points for the bathtub task (where the whole team did terribly) but Joe said it was fair
It’s not the prize is €1 million
She can't very well come off angry now can she? 😅
"this is my showstopper."
"some of your dirty!?" Gets me every time
14:08
Mel: "Are you very pretty?"
Model: "Yes"
Mel: *draws a ridiculous creature whose face is 50% lips*
She took the 'caricature' bit too seriously lmao
Thanks UA-cam. One recommendation and now I've binged 3 seasons and will binge this one.
I've not watched series 4 since it first aired on TV and my god, had i forgotten how incredible this line up was. Massive laughs right out the gate.
Watching Alex genuinely laugh is quite wholesome.
I could die happy if Mel addressed me as “my darling”
Rewatching these back i feel this is the season where the editing team really found their footing with this show and i bloody love it.
Hugh Dennis’s cake destruction felt like American Psycho meets The Great British Bake Off
Finally, the ultimate season with Noel and Hugh.
What’s nice about rewatching Taskmaster is that suddenly that “Mel and Shoe” joke from Alex makes sense after so many series! Consistently rewarding, this show.
It's like Noel has always wanted to put a cake in a washing machine and finally gets the chance to try it without pissing his wife off.
I thought it would be hard to assemble a cast as good as the first series. I was wrong, this cast is likely to be so completely bonkers that it will eclipse all previous seasons.
Hugh Dennis and Rhod Gilbert have the same energy, and I really need them to have a face off somewhere in the future.
Seconded, but I need them to do a team challenge together even more
Favourite highlights :
3:53 your colleague lied to me (charity)
8:12 I just need lots of knifes *evil laugh*
9:45 "exactly what a serial killer would say"
11:30 absolute delight
22:51 IMAGE of me
23:38 Michael Jackson (man in the mirror) "He didn't change his ways, did he?"
24:56 BLACK WOMAN INTO A FAT BALD WHITE MAN
25:03 in many ways it is a Micheal Jackson story
40:44 a lime with a shoe
43:08 mel and sue/shoe (bake off)
when Mel starts twitching and says "don't say the C word", she reminds me _so_ much of Hyacinth Bucket.
"It's Bouquet" 😅
Ahahahaa yes!
Greg and Alex carry the early episodes of each series with their wit. Once the dynamics of the new players are established they each start to contribute more, but I think the hosts should not go unrecognized
"I wasn't trying to clean the cake..." had me in stiches
I love how Noel put little rubber ducks in the wash on the very first task. Noel is the best 💜
Hugh's "I have KNIIIVES!" killed me! XD
This cast is imo the second best ever behind the first series one
i want this whole series cast to come back again honestly
The music that's playing when Joe's cake is blowing up is so beautiful tho😭
agree - venus by gustav holst. one of my favourites
@@esthermigo3009 i appreciate you telling the title, thank you!!
"Suchet on a broad bean. This is what this competition is all about !" - Greg Davies.
Hugh should’ve gotten points for the mirror one. That was actually good.
I think that was less about the any rule being broken, more Greg just taking any chance to take the piss out of his old friend
He also should've at least outscored Mel's cake smash, every season Greg decides to pick on someone, I guess we know who that'll be this season
Going off of all the seasons they seem to put at least one of Greg's friends in every other season so he has someone to pick on. They all seem to love the dynamic.
@@TMTM7 nah , it wasn't the rule bending but the drawing wasn't good in first place, he was giving points based on drawings.
Yeah I don't find the mirror thing controversial at all.
If it's good enough for Perseus, it's good enough for Taskmaster.
Look, I know that this is all just silly fun and that the humor aspect is far more important than the actual competition aspect. However, I do think that it’s B.S. that all 3 of the gents weren’t disqualified from the live task for using both hands. Poor Lollie got screwed. Hahaha.
Also, I didn’t agree with how the ‘destroying a cake’ and ‘drawing the woman’ challenges were judged. Very unfair episode.
Joe didn't use two hands. He briefly touched the bucket at 41:08 with his left hand before correcting himself, but he shouldn't be penalised for that
Oh this season is going to be goooooood! Hugh's deadpan humor, Lycetts incredible chaotic pettyness and the "woke up and chose violence" of Mel and Noel! 😂♥️♥️♥️
I don't know Lolly yet, so I'm guessing she must be more calm and rational.... But I can't wait to be proven wrong! 😂😂😂
I love Lolly already, glad she joined!
Lolly getting robbed on that cake one. but mel and shoe? iconic.
Lolly was totally robbed on the caricature too. It might not have been as good a drawing but it was the most accurate caricature, she even got the model's style of clothes right. And she actually juiced her fruit one-handed in the last task.
I really like this group! It’s a good mix, looking forward to this fourth series 👍
We love the "they lied and said it was for charity" running gag, don't we?
(Including, if you may, the time Richard guilt tripped Greg into giving him first place in the present task by actually giving to a charity.)
Yes! Signed vvegetaboles!
I've watched this a half dozen times and only just now noticed the ducks in the washing machine with Noel's cake
Amazing how they use the first task to immediately establish Hugh as a serial killer
If I were the Taskmaster, I would have docked Noel points for missing the opportunity to have David Suchet sign a vegetable marrow, since Poirot repeatedly mentions them in the books. Why would you use a different vegetable. An inexcusable error. This is what I'm choosing to care about today.
Excellent point.
A leek would have been acceptable.
This was very disappointing.
*i started with James Acaster's series 7.*
I then binged 1, 2, and 3.
over a single week.
i'm so happy to be here
Hugh's mirror idea is actually based on Christian Metz's psychoanalysis theory of film, nice
Hugh shouting “I’ve got KNIVES!” should be upsetting, but for some reason I find it oddly charming.
Because it is charming 😊
Wtf! Lolly was the closest with the drawing!
Greg has the visual equivalent of tone-deafness.
