Madam in question 2 he has reversed the ratio and solved it . Why is it so? Because upon solving -- A+B =11A-11B we get 5A =6B but he has reversed it and used the greater value with A and the lesser value with B that is 6 for A and 5 for B. Why is it so ❓ an avg. Student in maths if you could please explain me.

@@ay6401 5A = 6B. Convert into fraction then 5 goes that side and 6 comes this side and it become A/6 = B/5. If u need to find ratio then it will be A:B = 6:5.

A+C+2B=59 sir.

He didn't use equation 1 so no problem in it

It's nt taken so no prbs

Cancel (y-5) both the side.
X-5 = 4
X = 9
Y = 45 -9 = 36

I looked into it, apparently most problems with two quantities can be solved using 2 variables, i.e. x and y. For example Q. 5 can be solved with two variables.

If 2 ages are , Example A is 3 times of B, then age of A is 3x if age of B is x.
In other case, if we don't know the relation between 2 ages ,we can take one as x and other as y.

YES, it is twice not thrice so the answer I got is A=48
If considering as twice the answer will be A= 48
In 8th sum
x-5+y-5=45
×+y-10=45
×+y=45+10
×+y=55 is the answer
But you taught as ×+y=35 sir
Can you check the mistake???

when we equating no need to take two variables but when yu comparing yu take 2 varaib
this depends on how you approach the problem if u think from present you will need two variables and if you think from past you can solve this using one variable too.
same problem using 1 variable:
past ---10yrs---> pre ---10yrs ---> future
past age : 2x, 5x
2x+20 = 3
--------- ---
5x+20 5
x = 8
therefore, past age: 16, 40
present age(+10 of past age): 26, 50
difference:24

2X+20 /5X+20 = 3/5
10X+100= 15X+60
5X = 40
X= 8
MOTHER AGE = 8* 5 +10 =50
DAUGHTER AGE =8*2+10=26
DIFF BETWEEN THEM 50-26 =24

Yeah I have the same query. I think we have to focus on what had asked to us.Like in question 4 he asked the difference between two so for difference we should have different variables but if the question is asked something like this.. tell the present age, how many times would be the age of that person,sum of ages so one should make the equation by using the same variables.

When the ages of two persons are in some proportion we have to take x alone.... else take x and y, i.e, the relation between two ages are in expression in terms of + and -...Got it ????

Dear sir problem 8 in session second is completely wrong. Please solve it again. Because while taking equations it we suppose to take (x-5) * (Y-5)= 4Y but you have considered different sir. Pls solve it again

Hi Sir. For the solution of question mentioned at time 27:00 minutes how is the equation x-5 +y-5 = 45 written? Than it becomes x+y=55
(Hopefully it should be written as sum of age of son and father 5 years ago is x+y = 45-10 = 35).
