@shampoo towels, wash clothes, shirts, pants, plates, cups, water bottles, blankets, pillows, hair ties, headbands, Bobby pins, mascara, lipsticks I actually own more than 10 of all these!

You can wear things more than once before washing it. Obviously not if it got sweaty or gross but usually I can wear something 2 or 3 times before wash.
You change every piece of clothes every day?? I hear this often from Americans and somehow I always wonder what it is that you ppl seem to find so disgusting about yourselves. I am, like many other Germans, used to wearing clothes until they get dirty or start smelling. Only for underpants and socks I got educated to change them everyday. But who on earth has smelly legs? I think nobody, not even if you wouldn't shower for weeks. So where is the problem with wearing a pair of jeans several days? They also live much longer when they don't get washed too often!

I would love to know more about your laundry routine. My 1st thought when you said you do laundry everyday, isn't that more water and detergent being used?
That’s exactly what I was thinking. Just minute before she said it I was like “it’s time to turn the washing machine on, I do it each week” and then she said she does it everyday even tho they own few clothes and I was like 🤯😂
Minimal or not, a family with kids wears clothes everyday. They use towels and sleep on sheets. Especially a family (like ours) who uses cloth in the kitchen, cloth diapers, & cloth wipes, the laundry does add up. When considering the water used for laundry, it's also important to consider the amount of water needed to create new versions of these products (paper towels, paper napkins, disposable diapers, etc.) Overall, washable, reusable products use less water than continuously making new. Just some food for thought.
@Kiya but washing fewer times doesn‘t mean you can‘t use reusable and washable items. You should wait at least until you can fill your washing machine completely otherwise it is a huge wast of water and detergent every single day and that adds up. Plus you can usually wear your clothes multiple times.
@@shaymaier5342 , I generally wash a load of laundry a day & all of them are either full or to the capacity of the water level. It is very common for families with children to wash a load of laundry a day. For example, I wash adult laundry 2x a week, kid laundry 1x, Diapers 2-3x, kitchen linens 1x, and I alternate sheets & towels each week. Most of those loads are full washers. And for the ones that aren't (like diapers/kitchen) I don't see the difference between 3 small loads and 1 big load. if the water level matches the cloth, it's negligible. Especially when frequent laundering prevents mold &/or makes sure we have supplies to keep functioning.
Love that you promote this lifestyle it's refreshing to see an influencer live with less instead of always buying stuff! Food for thought though, do you think it's more beneficial for the environment to own less and do laundry everyday or to own more clothes and then do one big wash less frequently? Just an interesting question!
Congratulations on hitting 1 million subscribers🎉. You remained true to you and just look at how you’ve grown. So proud of you. May your channel continue to grow, and may you flourish in all that you do. To God be the glory, great things He has truly done. 🙌🏾🙏🏾✨
I've never been a minimalist. But my husband and I just bought a new house and feel like it's a new beginning. Therefore, we had an eye opening moment that we still had way too much even after decluttering for 2 years. This was really inspiring because my husband and I watched this together, thinking "we should only own 2 of these things". Thanks for the inspo per usual.
I really love how she says that ,, I can wear this ... and feel fabulous'' because it promotes the idea of wearing clothing to feel nice and confident and for it's comfort not because it just looks good. I like that she owns a few garments from each category so that she can evaluate what her options are and not get lost in the big pile of pieces of clothing most people have. Sarah alsow promotes the idea of quality is better than quantity when she shows the audience that she only has two pairs of jeans that she absolutly loves which teaches us about keeping things that bring us joy and getting rid of the others.
Our girl Sarah hit 1M!! This is so huge wow ..so happy!! Was literally waiting for her to hit a million.. love you so very much Sarah! You're inspirational. You're unique. So happy!
Yes, I'm from Ireland and most of us just live minimal lives and don't call it minimalism. But I love watching your videos because you are making a difference in Canada and America and its wonderful to watch. Well done.
This video was great because while watching it I was thinking of some items you only had two of, thinking, “man I’d only need one of those” which was cool because I’m learning things about myself and my style when it comes to minimalism. This video was awesome to watch!
It's really cool to me that your style of minimalism is all about being intentional with what you own, not just about being as minimalist as you possibly can. Congrats on 1M!!
Need 3 of everything. One on you, one drying, one ready to wear when you need it. My grandma taught me this, works for diapers too but you might need to have more if your woodstove isnt cranked and it takes a long time for them to dry.
This was SO helpful! As a sort of natural minimalist, I struggle to be okay with owning more that one of something. Your video gave clarity and helped me feel more at peace!! ✨🤍🌿
New subscriber. I find it so interesting how different people put emphasis on different areas. I am living more minimally, however I don’t consider myself a true minimalist. I don’t have a very minimal wardrobe, but I don’t have a very excessive wardrobe either. I have 6 pairs of dress pants for work, 1 pair of jeans, around 12 tops. I have 6 bras and 7 pairs of panties. I find it so important to have enough clothes so that I only have to do laundry once a week. I only have to do two loads of laundry per week and the idea for me of doing laundry is exhausting. Just find it interesting to find what is important for different people. Interesting video. Can’t wait to watch more videos.
So so so proud of your hard work and your 1 mil subs!! Love what you do and what you stand for! Thanks for being a bright light on UA-cam! You’re and inspiration 🧡
You have inspired me to order a Knix bra! This physical distancing period and your videos have really helped me to embrace letting go and prioritizing comfort.
I really, really would love to see a video of stuff you have multiples of as a minimalist! I'm very minimal at home and yet I have multiples of stuff (ie. More than two). I wonder if it would help some people get over the stigma that minimalist living has to be with ONLY very few items rather than keeping the items that you constantly enjoy and/or use...?
That's a good idea, I want to have less stuff so I can spend time with my 3 kids instead of tidying up the whole day andnever getting ready... I decluttered a lot, but I love reading and have like my own little library. I also decluttered through my books, but stll love and/or want to (re-)read so many of them 😅 that's not the only thing, but the most space-taking of my hobbies, that I won't bring to a really minimalistic level. I would love to see the less minimalistic parts of a minimalist's life!
Nothing makes me more excited than finding out you posted new minimalism videos :D such a great influencer thank you for sharing your lifestyle with the world
Could you please do a video further talking about how you encourage your children's learning and how you plan home schooling/learning? My son is 4 and I'm doing my best to prepare him for school at home. Any tips and tricks would be greatly appreciated ❤ love watching your videos

I’m binge-watching your videos while packing to move and you are motivating me to declutter at the same time. Also, I just really ♥️your style and personality and outlook on life 😁
I love you so much. You made me question my lifestyle, reevaluate my love and relationship with God, and find joy in the dayly life and even in doing my chores and responsibilities. I always remind myseld your words, that I must love serving my loved ones and doing my house work with love and joy. Thank you so much.
Oh, haha, when you said yoga mats, I was like - oh, yeah, that’s excessive lol. But it totally makes sense though! Now I am trying to figure out - what do I have 2 of lol!
Always like videos like this. I don't consider myself a minimalist but I have minimalist tendencies I'm quick to go thru my closet and get rid of things but I live with my family and the kitchen is not as well put together as I want it to be. It's a real struggle personally
Bras are hard to own two of for me. I work out and I’m very prone to body acne and I’ve found clean bras and showering right after helps prevent breakouts. I also can’t wear 1-2 pairs of pants. Body odor man. Even with daily showering.
You should own more than 2 bras. Your bras need somewhere from 24-48 hours between wears for them to regain their shape. You really shouldn't wear the same bra day after day as it breaks the material down faster and leads to wires popping out and the bra stretching out and no longer fitting properly. Plus a bra needs to be washed less to maintain structure and giving it time to lay out and breathe after a wear is the best practice to not having bacteria build up but also not over washing your bras. People who over wash and over wear their bras end up buying more bras over time because of faster deterioration. I've have bras for years that still look new because I own about 4-5 regular bras and 4 sports bras and follow these guidelines
It's good to see you how changed from full time make ups to live naturally minimal mom. Your contents really satisfy people and we can feel that it is real💐
Its so interesting to me to watch north american decluttering videos because yes, theres SO much more stuff people have! I felt like i had shit ton of stuff but man... Theres a next level 😅 But on another note, I love your videos! I'm moving towards the more minimal lifestyle as well and it's so rewarding!
I live in Sweden and I've watched a lot of minimalism videos from Canada and the US and it always strikes me how differet our consuming patterns seems to be in Sweden as you say in your video too. I For me it's natural not to own so much stuff. I actually find myself thinking "I need to buy one of those etc". More than thinking I need to declutter five of those 🤪
I think it would be really cool for you to do a video of you talking about the things that are your guilty pleasure to "hoard" or things that you struggle to limit...just like a raw and real confessions of a minimalist!
Lotte Meinona it’s a pretty average size. I think something to remember is that, with the exception of socks and underwear, you can get a few wears out of pretty much everything before it is actually “dirty” and needs washing.
I never know how to pronounce brands either (the exception is Quay is actually pronounced "key" in an Australian accent) - so relatable per usual. Yesss!
Well the truth is in Poland people own so little and are kind of “minimal” cause sadly they have no other choice... wenn you earn 1800 a month (no matter what currency it is, it could also apply to another country) and need to pay 1300 rent plus electricity, phone, internet etc you just don’t have the money to buy proper food let alone 50 bras or 100 pairs of shoes! Btw. It is a Real example (my sister still lives in Poland while I moved with my parents as I was a kid) and I’m so sad and angry that I had so many more opportunities as a child/teenager then my older sister in her whole life! And I didn’t do much - just moved to another country.
I am from Poland and don’t agree with you. There are here rich and poor people, like everywhere. You can live very convenient and be pround of your country :)
Happy 1 MIL subs! It’s nice to know you own two things of ___. I could so relate with the blush, bra, and yoga mats (I’m a yoga teacher) and feel like I don’t have too many of those things.
I am not a minimalist as of yet but I have began to declutter and getting rid of things. I don't want to be the person that only has a certain number of belongings because that is what society says makes a minimalist...I want to have whatever I truly use and whatever brings me joy. I do see why owning 2 yoga mats in your case makes sense. I only own one but I never work out outside so that makes sense for me. I also see why u wanted to own 2 scissors but for me it's a little different because I too live in a 2 story house and I really hate having to go downstairs when I'm upstairs to get scissors so I own 3. I think people should own whatever number of things makes sense for them.
I started laughing when you showed the scissors. Growing up, my poor mother was constantly searching the house for scissors because we kids would take them to use for crafts...and leave them...somewhere? When we got older she bought at least 10 pair of scissors. And by that time we'd either moved out of the house, or were responsible enough to put them back! I now have a gorgeous pair of fabric shears--made in Japan, bought in Japan. The brand is "Clover." They are used ONLY for fabric.
I feel like doing laundry everyday is just a family life thing. Even on my clumsiest and messiest days I could never have enough for a full load without being wasteful :D
Same! It's just me, my husband & baby at home but I would definitely struggle to do a load of washing every day! Just the water wastage stresses me out haha
My husband and I have 5 kids, if I skip a day of laundry I feel like it takes me a week to catch back up. But I can totally see how smaller families wouldn’t need to wash as often
I think the message here is to do your laundry before it get to much and for some people are just too overwhelmed. Before kids I would probably do twice a week and when I had my first child we did the laundry every other day and now with three kids we have to do it every day.
Maybe a “things I own more than 10 of” would be interesting
Pillows maybe?
I was going to suggest "things that I own more than two of"
I have two adorable girls as a “kids” minimalist. :)
Underwear! Lol :)
@shampoo towels, wash clothes, shirts, pants, plates, cups, water bottles, blankets, pillows, hair ties, headbands, Bobby pins, mascara, lipsticks I actually own more than 10 of all these!

I don’t see a problem with having 7 or 8 things so it’s one for everyday of the with. Making it 1 wash day, reducing water use.

Especially when frequent laundering prevents mold &/or makes sure we have supplies to keep functioning.
ok, I get it - I'm not poor, I'm just minimalistic
Well done.
YOU REACHED 1 MILLION!
Iky
I love Sarah, it feels like she's your friend when you’re watching her videos!! ❤️❤️❤️
Yes!! I feel the same way! ❤️
I feel the same! I mention Sarah so often to my husband, that he started calling her my bff 🙈😂
Things she now owns more than a million of:
SUBSCRIBERS!
seems pretty maximalistic to me. hahaha congrats again
Paula Ullrich she doesn’t own us..
Congratulations Sarah on 1 million subscribers🥳🥳 You deserved it 🥰🥰... lots of love from Costa Rica❤️❤️
Your hair and look are so sophisticated. You own absolutely the nicest pieces. Thank you for sharing.
Nothing makes me more excited than finding out you posted new minimalism videos :D such a great influencer thank you for sharing your lifestyle with the world
I recently sold a lot of my “extra” items on Poshmark, and it’s SO NICE to now have less of everything!
Could you please do a video further talking about how you encourage your children's learning and how you plan home schooling/learning? My son is 4 and I'm doing my best to prepare him for school at home. Any tips and tricks would be greatly appreciated ❤ love watching your videos
I've been watching you for about 4 years now.
You've grown so beautifully, and have a wonderful family.
I am so proud of you, and congrats on 1 million subs!!
I also own two yoga mats for that reason as well!! This was a great video it made me realize I could have less sandals and jeans excited to continue decluttering and working towards a much more minimal life that only contains things that I need and use regularly!
OH MY GOODNESS!!! congrats Sarah on 1 mil subscribers!! Love what you are doing and how you are spreading God’s truth!!💛

Nice to see another minimalist and get inspired. So true, when she talks about Europe. I feel here everything is a little bit minimal but still need improvement
Sarah is a good source of inspiration. Who agrees?
Yes, every time I watch one of her videos I clean or declutter something during or after

And thankyou UA-cam, for introduced Sarah to me hahaha...
Love from indonesia.. ❤️❤️
I'd definitely love to see you continue this series. I still live with my family but practicing minimalism is something I already do. I enjoy watching how you and your family practice minimalism as well.
i think that this kind of video, make me think about what i have in the house that i dont think about often, but really i dont need so many of it. so thanks! really like this type of video
Whoohoo!🎉🎉🎉One million subscribers! You’re awesome Sarah! God bless😇💙
I havn’t own a watch since middle school. Those you own are lovely and work for you. I have 1 blush from 100 percent pure. I have 2 sandals, one from Teva brown pair and another wedge sandal from Target. Thank you for this video, I found it super inspiring. ❤️❤️❤️
Congratulations on ONE MILLION SUBSCRIBERS!!
Congratulations on 1M. I found you pretty recently and I’ve been in love with your content ever since ♥️
I’m so excited that you made it to 1,000,000 subscribers! My husband and I are planning on starting a channel soon about homesteading
Teenager here! I've been trying to implement some of your tips, and I throroughly enjoy them! My dad always tells me, "Buy nice, not twice", which I feel like correlates with your philosophy 😁.
Hi Sarah😍 I'm Nour from Libya and I'm a big fan of your videos😍 I just want to say that you're really an amazing super woman and you really inspire me to be better and get motivated every time I watch your videos😘
I love this❤Other youtubers make me feel really bad about my life for not being able to afford tons of stuff. I agree with Sarah about having less items but of good quality
Congratulations on a million subscribers ❤️
I absolutely LOVE your videos. I am going off to college in the fall and your videos are inspiring me to be more minimalistic and purchase ethical products. 💛
I haven't even think of myself as a minimalist until I saw your videos. I still don't think I am a minimalist, it's just normal life for me. Support for you and kisses from Europe ;)✌️❤️
take a shot everytime Sarah says "I'm (not) someone that-" lol
Yay!!!!! 1 million! Love your channel! Learning and embracing a minimal mind set and seeing abundance in our life without stuff:)
As always, love your videos 🤍 Congrats on 1M subscribers! You are such an honest and inspiring UA-camr and I always come to your channel for inspiration and ideas. Thanks Sarah!
Congratulations on 1 million subscribers Sarah, you go girl!
Love this! I own two pairs of trainers, one pair to work out in and another classic white leather pair that I wear for casual comfort. When one pair does I'll replace bit until then, I'll enjoy wearing them
Congrats on 1M Sarah! You are such an inspiration to so many people!💛
Not a minimalist....but moving that way 😁. This is inspiring.
I have 2 hair brushes & 2 combs- one set is a wooden brush & comb. The others is a wide tooth plastic comb (I mostly use for my wet hair) & I just bought a tangle teezer.
One pair of sandals
2 pair of sunglasses
2 piggy banks
2 hats- a beanie style hat & a paper boy style hat.
Yay for a Mexican hoodie! I'm a Mexican subbie. Love your videos! Congrats on 1 million subbies. Much deserved!🥰
Sarah I love you so much!! I’m still in school, and I love having a virtual older sister to look up to ❤️ keep creating and I love your content!
It's good to see you how changed from full time make ups to live naturally minimal mom. Your contents really satisfy people and we can feel that it is real💐
Inspiring! Can't help but think of things I can get rid of! Congratulations on 1 million subscribers!! That's awesome and well deserved!
Its so interesting to me to watch north american decluttering videos because yes, theres SO much more stuff people have! I felt like i had shit ton of stuff but man... Theres a next level 😅
But on another note, I love your videos! I'm moving towards the more minimal lifestyle as well and it's so rewarding!
I live in Sweden and I've watched a lot of minimalism videos from Canada and the US and it always strikes me how differet our consuming patterns seems to be in Sweden as you say in your video too. I
For me it's natural not to own so much stuff.
I love you minimalist lifestyle but I feel like washing clothes everyday is a bit exessive.
That's what I was thinking! Isn't washing clothes every single day using more water and detergent? I would like a video on that
Some of us don't have a option. I do atleast 2 loads a day
Family of 6
I hate it but it has to be done
Laura C whaaat our family of 6 does 2 loads a week... sometimes even less lol
@@danielleweber4916 How big is your wasmachine? I fill up one a week on my own...
Lotte Meinona it’s a pretty average size. I think something to remember is that, with the exception of socks and underwear, you can get a few wears out of pretty much everything before it is actually “dirty” and needs washing.
I am one of your "European muchachos" 😂💚 Loved it!
Me too
Yey me too 😄
Congrats in the 1 mil!!! You are an amazing woman, God bless you forever!!!
I never know how to pronounce brands either (the exception is Quay is actually pronounced "key" in an Australian accent) - so relatable per usual. Yesss!
Congrats on 1 million subbies! What a huge accomplishment! Making Canadians proud.😊❤️🙏🇨🇦
Yay 1 million! Congratulations!! 👍😁😁
That sounds like where we live 😞 it’s crazy expensive. I live in the west coast of us
1300 is so expensive omg
I am from Poland and don’t agree with you. There are here rich and poor people, like everywhere. You can live very convenient and be pround of your country :)
Well done for reaching 1MIL!!! So much love, thank you for your video XX
Happy 1 MIL subs!
It’s nice to know you own two things of ___. I could so relate with the blush, bra, and yoga mats (I’m a yoga teacher) and feel like I don’t have too many of those things.
This is something to celebrate!!! 1M subs!? Oh my!!!!!!!! So exciting!!! Congratulations Sarah!!!!
Loves this video!
Congrats for reaching 1 million. Love your videos 💗
Oh my gosh just realized you finally have 1 million subscribers!! You deserve it more than anyone. Congratulations! ❤️
Omg this is the first time I've ever come across a bra company who makes bras large enough for me that still look comfy & cute. Thanks for sharing!!
My family does laundry every day, but it's sorted loads, so you can have to wait a week for something to come through again.
@@leonnahobbs5054 yes. Same here 1 day and it takes forever to catch up. I'm doing 2 loads per day maybe 3 or 4 on other days we are a family of 6
I own that Knix bra but in a sort of off-white. It's so well made and comfy.
