Congrats Michele 🎉 Can’t wait to see your new setup. Totally get your need for something larger as it’s your home and your office. I think forcing yourself outside is smart. I have met fellow nomads who have moved up from small rigs to 28-30’ palaces and their outside time has diminished. We are headed down to AZ for the winter, if you still have the drop let’s get together for an adventure!! 😊
Oh wow! So exciting! Started watching your channel a few months back because I too have a Crosstrek and love the teardrop. But your next adventure sounds amazing and I’m here for it!😊
Twins!! I will miss my Crosstrek and drop combo but sometimes the dream changes and I’m trying to be ok with saying good bye to my little set up! Thanks for coming along and staying! We appreciate the support!
I love this for you!!1. Woohoo! 🎉🎉😊 I cannot wait to see what you finally decide on. I would love to do the same but I am the only caregiver for my 93 yr old mom. I have to stay around until I can get her dependable caregivers. So I will live vicariously through you!
I love airstreams but sadly way out of my budget but I’ll def look at the Insol! You’re the second one to recommend. My friends just got a flyer and they love it!
I'm currently looking at inTech Sol models for my needs and sound very similar to yours..... definitely worth taking a look at. Can't wait to hear more about your future!
Happened upon your channel, and I really like it. I do understand wanting something larger. My dogs are 9 & 12 and would definitely need the space as one is a 100 lb husky.
Oh Michelle! I am so happy for you and Feens! You will find a good trailer and truck for your adventures. Your dad is a big help to you and I look forward to seeing your next rig 🩷🩷🩷
An off road 4x4 sprint van would be at the top of my list. Everything is one piece, off roadable to get you just about anywhere you want to go and not leave your stuff behind...I'm not a big leave your stuff behind fan. I'm a part time nomad and my rig for traveling is modified slightly. Mainly I removed the passenger front and passenger rear seat in my 4x4 Ford F150 powerboost with built in 7.2 KW invertor and built a 7 foot long platform bed with 6" memory foam matress in the place of the removed seats. I have lived very comfortably in it 7 months out of the last 3 years. I am glad I also own a house otherwise a sprint van would be the minimum for me for full time living.
I totally get that choice. Vans have a lot of benefits. I’m the polar opposite and love creating a home base and traveling out from there in my two vehicle. It’s so cool there are so many ways to do this life that fits for everyone. Love your rig! It’s gonna be so weird to let go of my house but it’s a step I’m ready for….just gotta find the right home on wheels now!
@@MicheleShanklin Well one thing is for sure for what ever you decide. You'll have a lot of new content and your vehicle/RV can probably be a business tax deduction :).
I own a teardrop as well and its compact size is great, but I agree, it is still "camping" and lacks the comforts and conveniences of a larger, well equipped rig. Living and working full-time in one would be challenging. Looking forward to your new adventures and best wishes!
Can’t wait to see what you end up with. When I retired, I bought a 22’ No Boundaries. I already had a half ton pickup. It’s worked out good for me so far. I would just recommend you get more truck than you think you need.
Thank you for that! Yeah my dad (who is a snowbird) has been helping me with all the decisions on weight and trailer and truck too. So thankful for everyone’s advice cause I have a lot to learn!
Wow good for you!! Have a look at the keystone Springdale mini rd. The rear dinette has awesome windows and the forward queen bed is an awesome layout. Happy RV hunting!!
That is so exciting Michele. I know this is your dream and we would follow you if you had a Prius or a large old camper. So happy to hear this news and we are here for the long haul. I envy your situation as a corporate worker myself. There are a whole bunch of memories and great adventures ahead. Every rv or camper owner experiences mechanical issues and general inconveniences but that is worth it to have freedom to go wherever
Thank you so much for your support! Seriously it makes me so happy to have amazing supporters here! Yeah I know I have a whole lot of new things to learn but I’m so excited for it and so thankful my summer on the road helped me gain the confidence to take the full leap!
@@MicheleShanklin Absolutely. Plus you know all the great spots especially in Colorado. I am very excited for your next adventure. Even more excited to see your next vehicle. 🤗
Good girl. Do what is in your heart ❤️. I think living a mobile life would be exciting. Don't land in a permanent place to soon. Live your journey first . I will be going along with you .😊😊
Thank you! For sure. I’m thinking 2-3 years on road as long as I love it but I def plan to explore as many tiny mountain towns as I can!! Thank you so much for your support 🧡🧡
You got this. I'm keep telling my fiance we should do this and just walk away from our day to day. If you are ever in NY, feel free to park in my driveway. You'll have a safe place for you both. I wish I could buy the drop off you but I'm too far away.
You are just too too kind! I can’t wait to meet people on the road. It’s a huge part of why I want to do this! I’m totally for just doing it! I think it’ll be worth it!
I def needed the summer I had to build my confidence to fully commit and cut the cord of having a home. Plus needed to earn the right at work. I’m so thankful my boss has so much faith in me to maintain productivity and growth on the road. It’s just the perfect timing now!
Roar and spontaneous ✨️ is cool 😎 your young and go with what feels the right feeling for you ,I have 2 dogs for me I would get a truck camper/Camper Van if going full time ,You both need space and security, so if necessary you can get to the drivers seat so you dont have to leave the vehicle to get away quick ,but that me I wish you all the Very Very Best on what you choose and look forward to tag along with your decision. GO FOR IT LIFE IS FOR THE LIVING GODBLESS 🙏 ✨️ 🙌 ❤you Both, stay Safe Stay Alert ⚠️ Be Happy Enjoy life you only have 1 chance 😊 ❤🫠
I love a good truck camper and that’s on the radar for future life. For now I like staying in one spot for awhile and making a little home base so will def be in a towable but don’t you worry I have protection 😎 I really appreciate your support and kind words 🧡
Congrats!! You will love it! There will still be plenty of Teardrop adventures as I decided to keep it to complete some trips I really wanted to do in it!
Gotta tell you Michele, your plan is scaring me. The RV industry is a mess right now for a plethera of reasons, there are dealers going out of business, and there are manufacturers that are flirting with bankrupcy. The dealers weren't ordering units this year because they still had their units they couldn't from last year. Between the prices and the quality, and lawsuits that are being filed. I can't go into great detail publically because I could be getting sued if I did, but I only know of a couple of dealerships that are selling units that are worth having, and none of them are selling trailers that are from Indiana type manufacturers. 5th wheels are taking a big hit because of frame issues that they are having, and it involves some of the biggest name manufacturers that are supposedly putting out high end products. So go forward with caution, or maybe get some assistance like hiring a professional to inspect any unit might consider buying. If I was you, I would watch some of the videos from ROA Offroad, because even if you don't buy from them, you will see what you might be looking for in a true offroad/ off grid unit. Most of the units you see at your local dealers, might be alright for highway use, but they would fall apart in short order when used off road, like you have been doing, and especially off grid use. I will include a link to a video that will hopefully come thru for ya, there is a ton of them out there right now. ua-cam.com/video/aaq5x3e7f9U/v-deo.html
There is a level of risk in everything you do. I’m taking my time making my decision and path forward based on my plans. I’m sure there will be trials but that’s life! Thank you for the concern and resources….I’m sure they’ll be helpful as I navigate this new chapter!
@@wolfmooch I prefer having a towable so I can set up and then come and go without having to pack up. I move a lot slower and stay in places for awhile (my personal preference) so I like having a place and space I can set up as a home and then get in my vehicle and go explore.

Sooo Excited for you and Penz! And please don’t script our videos, I love your impromptu’s. Can’t wait to see your next rig.
