It's kinda funny in my language, cebuano, "biko" is a sweet glutinous rice snack. I don't know what's the English equivalent, probably rice pudding? Edit: It says that it's rice cake with sugar syrup in english. PS: Love your videos, it really helped me improve significantly.
I feel silly because I never thought about the iteration or acting out as the character... As I have a stronger writing and acting background this is going to be SO helpful x3. Although low-key going to be weird acting out as my female furry characters but weeeeeh
Act out the general pose but for position of the extra limbs like ears or tails look for animals as inspiration. I have used my cat before as reference for the ear positions of my cat. I have even used a plushie when I was uncertain about a pose for my dragons. Think about what animal it is and what emotion you want to convey.
I really liked this in-depth dive! I'll be making graphics for a visual novel game soon, so well-designed poses will be important - Your advice came at just the right time, now I feel like I have some tools to work with :D
Thanks Brookes. I'm trying to learn this myself so I appreciate you, especially because you are not cynical but because you're enthusiastic about character design. It is real inspiration.
Thanks for the tips in regards to these key poses, specially object hierarchy through color coding. I have been wanting to make art with a style similar to Etrian Odyssey 3, where some parts of the character are fully in shadow and wasn't satisfied with my results because either the shadows were too close or the shadows didn't feel like they were covering enough; this should really help me simplify how the character and the props are working together!
Hell yeah, I’ve actually wanted a lesson on poses for a really long time. I really struggle with working out poses and mine normally look flat and static
One confusing part of that parcel pose was that the hand that was farther back was bigger than the one that was closer. It should have been the other way around
WE APPRECIATE YOU BROOKES, we don't deserve content this good for free.
Biko I feel u... I too live in a society
Also that key is hype as heck!!
The thing to code what parts of character are further and closer is amazing idea. Thank you a lot for this video!
Awesome!
WHAT THE HECK THIS GUY IS SOOOO UNDERATED!
“This one says a lot about society” made me exhale sharply from my nose hahaha!

I know!! 😂 that really caught me off guard
Another great video dude. Also the "this says a lot about society" bit got me pretty good.
Hehe thanks Teeg!
Never even thought I'd need this video, wonderful!
Animal Crossing Biko needs to be a thing.
Amazing video!!! I'm creating some characters and that's exactly what I needed. Thank you so much!

Thank you Brooks!
Definitely have trouble with getting the perspective right on posing. Going to try out the color coding trick, thanks!
Waiting all week!!

"He knows what he has to do but he doesn't have the strength to do it" I'm -😭😂
For real though, thanks for another great video, Brookes
Oh my gosh thank you so much for this!!!

Hi. I am from the future. I have already seen this entire video even though it was posted 2 minutes ago. Beep boop good video
fairly suspect tbh

OMG Its the key! I aspire to one day have as many cool props in my room as you do
You actually have the Key XD
I really need to use more squish and stretch in my art. I guess I'm going to iterate with intentionally wrong shapes now.
Exactly what I needed
Is anyone gonna mention that Kylo Ren quote...
XD the key

Its holding the second hand’s watch 🙂
Is Jacquelines key part of patreon?😂
As soon as I can fit it in a 5x8 envelope 😄
Love you dude, im underaged so I can’t support you in Paterson yet. Keep up the good work Thọ!
