I completely agree with you regarding gardening. I wake up every day grateful I have a small garden to work in. It takes immense patience to wait each year to see beautiful plants and flowers return and the excitement to see how all these living plants respond each season. I not only follow your channel for ideas and to learn new things I also relate to and appreciate your honesty regarding the trials, victories and tribulations.
I completely agree. You have to be so patient and remember that gardening is a long game. I have to remind myself to enjoy the journey of discovery and learning that takes place as I work towards my vision. Interestingly, I have discovered new combinations of plants by mistake as I try plants in different areas. Combos I never would have thought of it I hadn’t experimented.
Your grandma is so proud of your garden! And she is deeply touched by the many ways in which you pay homage to her. I'm grateful for your frequent reminders that we who garden need to step back from our "doing" to evaluate, commend our success, and strive for even greater, because the best is yet to come.
The transformation over the 7 years has been incredible! I love how you’ve had vision and that you are enjoying the “process.” Thanks for sharing some before and current!!💚
Loving the park garden with its foxgloves, irises and alliums...the repeat of white, lilac and purple is so calming to look at. You've worked so hard from beginning to today....I might take a look at 10 yrs ago of my garden. I've learnt so much over the years.. Jo.❤
A garden is always changing Danielle. I’ve been in my house for 35 years here in Australia and I’m changing some things in my garden again. It takes time for sure. I have a saying that you might know sometimes the journey is more satisfying than the destination . Your garden looks lovely.
“Would rather have Grace happy than grass.” ❤ What a beautiful point of view. This video has many nuggets of wisdom spoken throughout it. Thank you, thank you.
Danielle your garden is gorgeous! We are still in the very beginning stages of creating our gardens and while I am loving the process I am defiantly excited for mature filled in plants. -Cara😄
So true! Also, not only is gardening a beautiful journey, it is fuel for the soul! Just think. If it was all done in one swoop, you wouldn't have the joys of continual gardening processes. It would all be done, and you would be left twiddling your thumbs wishing you had something to do in the garden lol. The fun and joy of going and picking the right plant for an area, or growing something from seed because you can't find it in plant form is such an amazing part of the process. One should never be able to say that their garden is completely complete. There is always tweaking and maintenance to do. Your garden has come a very long way. Be proud of what you have accomplished!
The patch of warm colored ranunculus is so gorgeous!! 😍 Thanks for this tour. It's special to see you adding things and creating this garden through your videos over months and years! An artist's process. Great to see how it has changed.
Thank you for this inspiring and beautiful tour. I love to compare old photos to today’s garden, too. It feels so gratifying to see the changes. Your gardens are inspiration to us all!
I know you have certain vision of what you want your garden to look like, but to me, it looks like PARADISE! I always enjoyed perusing my mother's garden before she had to sell the house. I've lived in Apartments for 35 years so I very much appreciate your sharing your beautiful garden paradise with those of us who don't have a garden. It's beautiful! Thank you!
You created a Home Sweet Home and you have accomplished a park like setting. Anyone driving by must think how lovely a home and setting and brings one a peaceful smile. I have learned from you how normal it is to adjust our plans and create new spaces. I look forward to your videos!
O.M.G. AMAzing transformation! Yor have put an eNORmous amount of thought and work into this development!!! Hats off to you!!! Love, love, LOVE seeing the progress, changes, additions, with EACH and every one of your videos!!! Thanks for keeping it real !! You make many of days brighter!!!
Beautiful before and after. You can feel the love in your garden creation. So nice to see as someone that is in the first year of their garden. Little by little…
Hi Danielle, I loved seeing how you transformed your space from the beginning to its current state. I think it is so beautiful, and a true labor of love! You used such wonderful combinations and colors together, that cat mint is gorgeous spread throughout the pathway along with the allium and the drifts of white finch orlaya. Your foxglove is so pretty too. I can't wait to see the blue delphinium you planted! That was such a delightful tour, thanks for taking us along today. Oh, I could almost smell that honeysuckle! lol 😍
Thank you so much for sharing the progress of your amazing little piece of heaven here on earth. Danielle you are easily one of my absolute favorites to watch for your calming demeanor and down to earth gardening style. It’s always sweet to see what you and Grace are up to. Now I have to go put on my gloves and grab a shovel! Thanks for the inspiration 💐🪴💜
Your garden is lovely. No one knows your garden has any holes. Only you know that. My yard backs up to the cart path of the golf club we belong to. When people go by and say how pretty things look, I have to remember to say thank you and realize they cannot see all my weeds. Your gardens will forever be changing because you will have new ideas you will want to try. A garden is always a work in progress, and we should enjoy the journey. Now if those danged deer would cooperate!
Hi Danielle, thanks for the before and after look at the different areas of the garden. You have accomplished so much! I am still working to perfect my very small patch of workable garden space. Gardening is a journey that we delight in along the way. Thank you for the lessons and the inspirations you share.
Such a gorgeous garden! I wish I had taken pictures of my yard when we first moved here. There were a handful of lilies, a mock orange and a few lilacs. Over the years I’ve added oodles of flowers; peonies, iris, lilies, roses, and several other things. I love watching Grace roaming around through your video. 🌺🌺🌺
Very encouraging to see the before & now visuals & also hints at where you wish to take it, Danielle. i also see my gardens as a conversation or co-authoring with nature. Always something new to learn & constant flux. Not one day is the same as the next, nor one year to the next. Acceptance & grit. It's the surprise of wonder that keeps me going and the joy of 'beautiful moments.'
Good advice! You have come so far in a pretty short time! Gardens are like people--works in progress! You have such a good vision of what you want your garden to be--it's amazing to me because I see a plant I like and plant it. I guess I "fly by the seat of my pants" when it comes to gardening. In the end, we all end up with beautiful moments in our gardens when certain plants are blooming at the same time and you just have to stop and marvel at it.
It's so encouraging to see how far we've come in our gardens and how all the hard work has paid off! Thank you for sharing. Also, just absolutely in love with your Japanese cedar. Wish something like that was available and suitable for Aussie gardens.
Thank you for this video, Danielle. I kept thinking that your garden is so gorgeous and you've gotten so much done just this spring. I am always so inspired, but lately I've been feeling like I'm just spinning my wheels and not getting anywhere with my garden. Thank you for that reminder. My flowerbeds are only one to three years old, and I shouldn't be discouraged. ❤
Your garden is so beautiful! I appreciate seeing the before and afters, as well as hearing some of your thought process. You have such great vision. I like your garden ornaments too. They are lovely.
I am so glad I found your channel a few months ago. Your hydrangea room inspired me to plant a hydrangea garden at our farmhouse, complete with an iron birdcage gazebo covered with clematis. I have a lot to add but I hope in a few years it is as beautiful as your gardens 💕
Thank you Danielle! Your garden is growing beautifully! I am also working on making my garden more beautiful! When we moved to our 2.2 acres in 2020 there was nothing this just a couple small roses in the front bed, boxwoods and hostas! I now have a cut flower garden and made several landscaping arrangements that is getting there! I always watch your videos for inspirations! Thank you again!
Such a great reminder that it is a journey and gardening as a verb! I wish I also had pictures from how my garden started (although I remember it). Seeing the progress is very encouraging.
Thanks for reflecting the importance of patience in the garden , planting and then waiting for nature to take its course. As a beginning gardener, I am trying to pace my expectations.
It has come a long long way and is beautiful👍👏😊this year I planted a couple of things with seeds and realize I have 0 patience lol - gardening does teach us many things (patience being one of them lol) - then, as we meander around our garden spaces, we experience joy as our surroundings evolve! 💕
Thanks so much for sharing! I am often so discouraged with the slow progress of my garden, and so impatient to have the perfect garden. You've reminded me that I really have come a long way, and step by step I will get there too!
Danielle, you have created a lovely space 🤍 I was watering in the Hoophouse a couple days ago and a hummingbird flew right through the water spray and landed on a plant very close to me. I’m sure it was my mom, coming to say Hello. I see her in my garden more than anywhere else 🤍
Love your comment "gardening is a verb." My husband always asks when I will be done. I tell him when I can't move any longer. Every video that you post is so inspirational. Can you tell us the orientation of your beds? Sometimes it seems that you have a good bit of shade for so many sun-loving plants.
The vision you have created Is outstanding. The gardens are amazing & the tribute you always pay to your Grandmother is so sweet. A viewer comment on another channel today was talking about the same honeysuckle & how wonderful it smelled. Thanks for the before & after & what a journey
It is looking beautiful. I am still way behind. Lots of snow damage this year and it took forever to melt off. My garden is definitely never done and I do enjoy the entire journey. Plus videoing it as a journal has helped me along the way. I do love getting inspiration from others!
I am very fortunate to have flower gardens in my backyard! Your point about low maintenance is well-taken! This year, I started a WHOLE bunch of annuals from seed. They were so successful that I now have a ton of planting to do. I'm feeling like it's more of a chore and I'm not enjoying the process. I do think I need to switch my focus to more perennials in the future. They will be far less work and they sustain their beauty for a much longer time!
Wow! You have done an amazing job and come such a long way. I am starting with a complete blank slate this year and you’ve inspired me to go out and take more pictures
I do agree with you Danielle, absolutely. But no matter the journey, gardening has been a God-send idea that gave me lots of benefits through the years.
Enjoy the process! I love that the garden is always changing. And I find that allowing flowers and foliage to paint different pictures is such a delight. Even on a gray rainy weekend(entire Memorial weekend 😮) I can see beauty. Loving all your beautiful scenes and Grace too!
This was incredibly helpful to see. I have wide open spaces that I want to fill in and seeing your beginning was so inspiring and informative. Thank you for sharing!!
Just lovely. Thank you for inspiring me. Last year was my first summer in my new house and I worked myself to death creating a garden from nothing but lawn. I realized I did not stop to enjoy it. This year is all about taking it slow and smelling the roses… Literally!
Thank you for the encouraging reminder. I am in the beginning of my first year in a new garden…starting from scratch! And I was just feeling discouraged because I have been working so hard and my garden is so far from my dream…but now I’ll go back out with renewed vigor and have faith that my little lilac forest will be taller than 1 ft one day! And I WILL get something planted to cover the scraggly foliage of the alliums…thanks for sharing your ideas on this!!
You’re doing amazing! Don’t be discouraged. It’s lovely. I just returned from 10 days in southern England touring gardens…most of them took decades to design. Keep smiling!

Wonderful to see all of your hard work resulting in such a great collection of plants and garden spaces! It's so important that anytime you move into a new home or plan to change your landscape to do before and after photos, just helps you see how it once looked and how your work made such a big difference. Grace looks happy as usual exploring her domain!
Everything looks so beautiful ❤ It’s encouraging to me to see how far you have come in the past 7 years. I live in central Indiana in 6b zone so I can really relate to your gardens. 🥰🌺 Thanks for sharing ☺️
Your garden has transformed beautifully. I live in West Michigan and Walters Garden is a grower of perennials and supplies so may You Tubers. You should contact them, they have sent others with less followers. Love your garden 🌼🐝

I looove the way the alliums look in front of "flower lady"
Great progress over the years. Gardening truly is a journey

Great job on the stone rug. I’m really liking that addition!

Thank you, I really needed that reminder! Your gardens are exquisite.
I am new to the channel. This is becoming one of my favorite. Your garden is so beautiful
❤ a lovely garden you have created there!
I especially love the trellis with the honeysuckle as a sort of "entrée" into the space.
But everything very well put together!❤
You’ve done a beautiful job creating your space. Looking back on the 30 years that I’ve been in my current space/garden, it occurred to me that our gardens reflect the stages of our lives. I love the ‘before’ photo of the area where your grandma’s lambs ear lives now along with your daughter having fun. I think you had a visitor that day, also! 💐👏🏻👍🏻💪🏻🥰
Your garden is such an inspiration to me thank you for sharing🌻💜💚🤍
I love the arches. I might get these for my climbing roses. Thanks for sharing this video.
Danielle your garden is absolutely GORGEOUS!?!! Just stunning!
I understand you having second thoughts about the Alliumns . I had the same problem, the following year I added purple sensation and Apricot Iris. I was so happy! My husband teased me that the white ones looked like dandelion weeds not to blow them. 😂 I have a question? I remember a couple years back when you had a hedge of feverfew.. where is that location now? It was so beautiful it inspired me ..I have been working on one. Thank you for all your inspiration, talents and knowledge. I look forward to your videos.. Pam 🥰
Wow, what a transformation. Your garden looks fabulous. It takes a while for that vision to happen, my garden is still evolving too. It is a lot of work for sure but so worth the joy of seeing it in it's full glory. Is always lovely to see the love that goes into gardening.
