You remind me soooo much of myself! Lol. Ok I'll stop looking at flowers 🙃🤭 yeah, ill stop too 😊 btw im 6b too. North KY your vids are essential for me. The difference between great and awful 😊❤❤❤ i have tons of succulents and sedums, as well as tropicals, annuals, perennials, etc...i love them all like you do. So beautiful ❤
I love following you around the garden. You excite me to get motivated for doing more things in my garden. I feel like you are happy to have us join you. I have learned a lot. Thank you ❤️
you are so dang adorable!(when you said,”i might have to set up the flower stand after all just to have some extra cash”) Also thank you for all the wisdom you share with us and always putting smile on my face.
I feel like I’ve just spent the day visiting in the garden with a good friend. 💚 Wish there was a garden center near me that had a great sale like that; I’d load up! 🌻🌹🌸🌺🌼
What a great start to the day! I didn’t know it was so easy to propagate sedums. I will definitely try that out. You really sold me with the chocolate cherry muffins! Perfect with tea and a good book. Thank you for sharing today. 🥰
Your grandma chairs looks great with the addition of the trellis!! Just perfect! Thanks for taking us along with the yard work and baking, they look delicious!!
I really enjoyed hanging out with you today in the garden and the kitchen. I learn so much from you just from your walk abouts. Thank you so much for sharing, your gardens are beautiful!
Sage (the one you can eat, but probably it works also with other Salvia) makes new roots on branches that hang down to soil. Or you bury a branch with soil. You don't cut it. Let it stay on the mother plant, take a side branch and bury the middle part and wait until it forms new roots (you can do that also over Winter). When it has new roots you cut it away. That works also with other plants, the Iberis for example.
I stuck a mum cutting in the ground this spring and it has taken! So glad you shared this - I was just fuming over the deer eating the tips of my sedum, but I'll look at it as them doing the Chelsea chop for me
Tomato cuttings stuck in the soil and kept watered are about a 100% success rate. Many other things, too, but tomatoes are what I always end up doing as I have a hard time throwing away the thinnings. 😀
This was such a fun video! The propagation of the sedum was very helpful. I’ve stuck single cuttings in the ground, but your “bunching” approach is what I’ll do going forward. Coleus is one I propagate heavily. However, the best part of this video was your reaction after the first bite of that muffin. It was so honest and true! ☺️💚
@@dianegreiner4054 i just pull the lambs ear out close to the ground and stick it somewhere. It sometimes looks bad at first but then it starts to root. As far as catmint goes I just cut a piece off and put it in the ground. Never paid any attention to when lol. I have only purchased 1 catmint and I have several now.
@@donnaborda Good to know. I'm definitely going to try this! I do this with coleus all the time. Never thought about other plants, especially perennials. 😊
Thank you so much! I find Salvia so easy to take a piece and just plop it in the ground, you don't even have to dig a hole as their stems go straight in. Keep moist for a bit and tada they grow so easily. Do you have Salvia Involucrata in America? She is an absolute showstopper and the Sunbirds and bees just love her! So much love and blessings.
You're so adorable and bring a smile to my heart when I see one of your videos :) Thank You for bringing light to these dark dark days we are enduring :)
I was successful with mums - cut back before July 4 I think is the rule. I stuck the tops I cut off into a long flower box and put in shade - almost 100% success with rooting. I had a beautiful purple that I wanted more of. Love the white flower that you showed- new to me. Thanks
Love, love, love your videos! So informative in such a relaxing and enjoyable way! Nothing better than nurturing and creating with God's beautiful plants and foods that we grow organically ourselves! Gracie really adds a sweetness to these videos too! Give her an extra hug today from Sunshine!
Thank you for such a wonderful video and for taking us along with you as you go about your day. I feel like I’m with you in person! As always, so much floral wisdom and my mouth literally watered for those muffins! ❤️❤️❤️
My favorite thunbergia are the blushing susie and spanish eyes! Different colors from pinks to yellows to creams, light and dark variations. The perfect summer flower vine!
Really enjoyed this style of video :) So laid back and relaxed, your reaction to the muffin was the best. I have a huge cherry tree which really is the size of four cherry trees. I'm going to make some of these muffins when my cherries are ready.
Thank you! I so enjoy all your videos. I don’t have much sun in my current garden but am looking forward to a new garden in a couple of years. Hoping for more sun and for it to be like yours. Luckily I care for some one else’s garden that has more sun, so it’s lots of fun for me.
I had no idea you could chelsea chop sedum!!!! You saved my sedum and the hyssop behind it! Always love your posts, so much joy! (The chocolate cherry muffins are making my mouth water right now.)
I have had good luck with sticking coleus cuttings in the ground. When a coleus plant gets too tall or leggy, I pinch it back, but have trouble throwing out the pretty leaves, so by the end of the summer I have groups of coleus all over my garden.
Love your videos! I've stuck cuttings straight in the ground of sedums, lambs ear, valerian, basil, tomato, and mum. So excited to keep learning from you!
I discovered Peruvian daffodils last year and they are amazing! I dug up the bulbs in the fall and stored them like my dahlia tubers and they are blooming big, beautiful and fragrant in my containers now.
Daniel, I adore all your videos! You are so talented as a teacher and so entertaining to watch! You are my favorite cut flower gardener and I am always so excited to watch and learn from. Thanks for all the videos you do for us.
What a varied informative video thank you so much. I am very interested in trying to grow sedum in a part sun/shade area. I never would've thought to have done that - so I will take some clippings of my autumn joy and try it out....thank you so so much!!!!
LOVE the 'stain glass' arbor behind your grandmother's seat & the blue conifer in front! The framing indicates it's a special spot (like an exclamation point!) Also love the late addition of annuals for prettification. I almost take more pleasure in this '2nd planting' just for the joy of it!
I have wonderful success with sticking chrysanthemum cuttings in the ground to propagate new plants! I have a few varieties in my hot Texas garden and I find I can easily multiple my stock whenever I chop the older plants back. Very easy to share with friends and neighbors too, because they root so readily. :)
I make yogurt every week so I always have Greek style yogurt around to stand in for sour cream if need be, but mayonnaise isn’t a bad idea either! I mean it’s oil and egg, so I imagine that would make it rich and moist. I guess the extra salt could be problematic, but I love salt with baked goods. Growing up one of my friend’s mom never added salt to her bakery items because it didn’t make sense to her…and her cookies were always missing something. Contrast makes everything more interesting!
Wow!!! Never even thought to do that with my sedum, awesome 😉 Thanks for sharing 😁 Filling up a box for 25 bucks !!! Like I said, I need to live closer to you 🤣🤣🤣 Yes, come to think of it, what is the difference between a cupcake and a muffin ??? That book looks like fun, enjoy !!!
Danielle I can relate to you about buying on sale plants! Thank you for your uploads, I learn a lot from you. I’ve propagated Angelina stone crop sedum too.
I just went out and propagated my sedum and I've got verbena in water to propagate. I'd love for you to do a video with your favorite plants to propagate and your preferred methods! 😊
Thanks for bringing us along Danielle! Love hearing all about what your up to as well as seeing your fur babies enjoying the garden. Totally related to your pure joy with your new book- oh how I love a brand new book! You also motivated me to do some baking - I think I’ll surprise my family with homemade zucchini bread tomorrow since I harvested my first couple from the garden today.
Thank you for showing how to cut back and propagate sedum! I will be doing that to mine now that I know how to. And for the recipes, especially the chocolate cherry muffins!! Thoroughly enjoyed this! 😊💖
It works with some branches from shrubs. I read that at least. But I think it must be done in a Autumn or early spring. Philadelphus, buddleja davidii, and Forsythia can be cut and stuck in the earth. But I'm not sure if it really works. I only read it. It must be a young branch. It must have buds for the next year and be cut very long (ca. 20 cm) and you must stick it to 2/3 in the soil and keep it moist for at least 2 weaks to a month. Then the buds become roots. But it takes very long until a small branch will grow to a shrub. And Iberis sempervirens you can propagade in the same way as the sedum. But usually you would plant it in a pot and cover it with a plastic doom or however that's called. So it stays constant moist. You must use the new, young branches of the Iberis and choose some with very small leaves. When it starts getting new leaves you can take down the Cover. It grows slow and needs at least 3 years to get to an okay size.
It's always a joy to visit with you in your lovely garden. The muffins looks de-lish! I love the "windows" behind your Grandmother's chair, the perfect addition. I propagate sedum that way as well, can't beat free plants. I do hydrangea cutting the same along with roses and coleus, I just make sure I keep them moist till they root. I cannot resist a bargain on plants, I buy so many of mine that way (I would definitely go back for more). I too planted those daffodils for the first time this year, they remind me of crinum lilies somewhat. We're going through our second week of a heat wave upper 90's and 100's so most of my time has been keeping everything watered really well, myself included, phew. Have a great day!
That was a great video!!! Never grew any sedum until this past fall when I bought a plant on sale. My gosh …could not believe how easy of a plant they are to grow and propagate…..did it in the spring and cannot believe how fast the new ones came in. Your muffins looked yummy!!!
Such a fun video! We have a Cherry tree here on the farm and we always seem to not remember to harvest the cherries before the birds and other critters get them! Those muffins look scrumptious! Your county is definitely my go to for all things plants/shrubs when we are in your area! Thanks for the great video 💚
I really enjoy watching your videos. The flowers are nice to see but you carry very positive energy, which is really needed in the world today. Also , and this sounds a little weird, but i like how you say the word "garden". 😆 thanks for putting positive energy out in the world....ps - i found your channel by searching this winter for how to start seeds indoors. Your garden is just as BEAUTIFUL as you are. I always enjoy your videos 🌸🌸🌸❤️❤️❤️
Hello there
Roses hydrangea lilac buddleia and lots more have rooted straight into dirt for me!
I really enjoyed hanging out with you today in the garden and the kitchen. I learn so much from you just from your walk abouts. Thank you so much for sharing, your gardens are beautiful!

the perfect video to watch during lunch break! You always make me smile, really love your attitude, you look happy

Catmint ,lambs ear and sedum do really well with just sticking them in the soil.

My dogs like to eat flowers. I will grow a dog flower garden

Hello su yen
The stop at the seed dahlia(?) was SO worth it. So pretty
This was an awesome video! Thank you so much. Now I can propagate my variegated sedum to complete a row. The muffins look delicious too.
Thanks Danielle! It was nice spending time with you today in your garden! God bless you!
I loved this video so much! I can't even put my finger on why 🤣 it was nice to spend some time with you as well!

All your flowers are beautiful, but your hydrangeas are absolutely stunning.
Thank you Danielle, I always learn something important from you. Will trim my leggy sedums now.

🤗🌺🦋🌸
Danielle I can relate to you about buying on sale plants! Thank you for your uploads, I learn a lot from you. I’ve propagated Angelina stone crop sedum too.

Try the Blue Butterfly pea on the stained glass arches!
I’ve also been able to do that with a sedum as well as the Sugar Stars annual Phlox and a Snapdragon.
Such a great video! I watched it while sipping my tea and “hiding” from my kids. Loved the baking portion.

Dicleptra suberecta it’s a perennial from South America down to zone 7b, coleus, lantana, oleander, from cuttings
This was absolutely wonderful 🌸💛🌼💚
I love the way you garden, and the weather is crazy this year!

Hello Taylor
Thank you, I have learnt something new - using mayonnaise to make up a short fall. Love your videos. 💕💕💕
Hey, Danielle. Thanks so much for the sedum propagating tip! I just went out and did it and now I have four new free plants! So much fun too.
The delphinium is beautiful.
What a great Idea,I need to do this with my Sedum!
I did chop my Autumn Joy Sedum last year and stuck the cuttings in the ground. So excited!
Every one came back! Mine are in a part shade area and do fine.
Good to know bc I always assumed sedum needs full sun
I really enjoy your videos thank you from Switzerland
my mouth is watering and i don't even like cherries - but cherries and chocolate sound divine!
Went right out to propagate some sedum! Thanks!!
This was such a fun video to watch. Thank you!
I love love watching you!♥️
What a great video! Thanks for the reminder to finish chelsea chopping sedum and propagating. Definitely go back for another $25 flat of annuals!
I never knew you could propagate sedum that way…I will try mine today!!!! Thanks for the tip-I love learning new tips and tricks 💕
Loved the video! Those muffins really look good! Thanks for sharing.
Good morning
You're an inspiration!
I only have 2 medium size sedum...well, after watching 👀 your video..lol gave my little guys a Chelsea chop..
Thank you! 😊
Enjoyed the video, you are amazing, I also love taking cuttings.I picked up a potted dahlia at a roadside stand and took two cuttings and put them in pots with soil, they are looking great! I also ordered a bunch of lilies, thanks to you , I ordered them from Holland Bulb, they have a great sale going, they arrived the other day so I need to get them in the ground.
Loved this video! I also love the rain barrel - but I've always wondered if the water in these barrels get stagnant or how to avoid this?
I did cuttings from snaps directly into the ground with better than 50% success.
