Konrad Curze only hated his Legion when Nastromo went to shit and started sending the worst criminals to become Astartes. Curze slaughtered an entire company of his own sons because they went too far during a campaign at one point. Konrad didn't hate all the Night Lords, some he loved, like Sevatar, Talos, Malcharion, Zso Sahaal, and a few others.
Night Lords have the only man to man no sneak attack Legion war with the Dark Angels opening the Heresy, that should be commended. No Warp Storm related ambush
As a first legion fan myself, I'm content with being second only to the sons of the angel. They started with possibly the worst legion flaw and instead of crying about it they went "fuck it we baal" grabbed some gold paint and proceeded to wreck face while refusing to be anything less than fabulous while doing it.

I think Sanguinius' dead is causing more damage than if he was the one to kill Horus. I mean his son REALLY hate chaos.....especially if they think they think their enemy is Horus.
As a Raven Guard fan, I'm really happy with the placement; I wasn't even expecting that high. But where you really got me is the exploits of Sabik Wayland and Nykona Sharrowkyn. Their stories are exactly why I love Raven Guard-the only Legion that reflects the 40K version of present-day special forces with how they operate and communicate. Well put.

I know our lore is lacking, and on the table top our rules always seem to be the place every comp player looking to oppress his local area with marines goes to, but, as one of 20 actual casual iron hands players to exist, I am pleased.

As a Dark Angels fan, I agree with this tier list, and I'm ok with Blood Angels being n°1, because yeah, they're awesome, and I'm perfectly ok with second place because oh boy, before Lion came back the DAs were really going about the hunt for the Fallen in a pretty facepalmy way. Would've put Emperor's Children at the bottom, personally, because I absolutely despise them (both pre and post-corruption. I'm so glad Saul Tarvitz died as a hero before he could see what they turned into), but Word Bearers is a good choice too. Lorgar is so unbelievably pathetic.
@Brainflayer their only good non-loyalist character is Fabius Bile: a guy who's off doing his own thing and has grown so detached from his former legion and Chaos in general to focus on his work that the only Emperor's Children thing about him is his geneseed. Eidolon and Lucius make me wish they were real just so I could throw them in a woodchipper, and Fulgrim was so insufferably arrogant, fake, insecure, prickly and narcissistic that becoming an insane snake demon, subservient to the god of BDSM, overdose and loud noises somehow seems to have made his character slightly less unbearable.

I've only just looked over the surface of each marine faction but Im real happy with where my two favs, Alpha Legion and Raven Guard ended up. I may not agree with every position but I cant help but respect the reasoning. It's all really solid.

Not sure why, usually I'm into that type of asthetic, but with Space Marines it just doesn't click for me at all. For me it goes: 1. Dark Angels/The Lion 2. Iron Warriors/PeterTurbo 3. Blood Angels make sense being in first place, as does Dark Angels being second. Would like to argue a case for the Salamanders, as Emperor above you didn't see their OG paintjob. The new one is an improvement tenfold. That, and the ornate flames are sick as hell. As for the Chaos Legions, I'd argue that Iron Warriors lose out to Imperial fists for one reason only (lack of fabric to go with the armor) and that the aesthetic of the Word Bearers is slept on. Dull Red inscriptions with silver lining, robes, and all of this stuff? Sure the legion as a whole is stupid but the aesthetic is great. Worst Legion aesthetic belongs to the White Scars, fight me.

Sangy is like Christ, brother saw that his Legion was full killers, monsters everything shit under the sun and kneeled before asking them if they would follow him. This single act of humility was so potent that it made these veteran killers and cannibals cry for the first time in their lives. Plus, before the aspirant becomes a blood angel, they more than not Mutant, barely can even be called human, and then with Sanguinius geneseed, they were turned into stuff beauty because my theory is that the inner character of the aspirants brought to the surface while their monstrous physical character was buried beneath the surface. The Night Lords are nightmare human beings who are bearly functional, not one of them is a decent person, and their primarch was a schizophrenic who could bearly tie his shoes without falling into fatalism. And I love them, and don't want them to be any different. Also, basically ALL of their books are insanely, insanely good. Price of Crows, the Omnibus, and Lesson in Darkness are INSANELY good.
As an emperors children fan I can see the views a lot of people have about them at first glance but they fit the stereotype but I think their depth is similar to night lords especially with their higher ranked characters and color theory I also enjoy their unique 40k design
The Iron Warriors are not pleased with their position, but it's hard to tell since they're always unhappy.

I've only just looked over the surface of each marine faction but Im real happy with where my two favs, Alpha Legion and Raven Guard ended up.
I may not agree with every position but I cant help but respect the reasoning. It's all really solid.

I mean, I don't disagree with the position you gave the white scars with the reasioning you had, BUT, I feel like there were plently of achievments of the Khan that chould have landed him into a higher position, like stopping a Ork Wahg by himself and making the orks run in fear, or trading blows with a slanesh deamon, and its legendary bbq skills as he roasted his brothers.
It was mostly a battle between the Khan doing the heavy lifting but his legion just kinda being there.

My opinions on specific legions/primarchs have changed a lot in recent times, but I'm sorry to say I've just never really been into the Ravenguard. Not sure why, usually I'm into that type of asthetic, but with Space Marines it just doesn't click for me at all.

Blood Angels make sense being in first place, as does Dark Angels being second.
Would like to argue a case for the Salamanders, as Emperor above you didn't see their OG paintjob. The new one is an improvement tenfold. That, and the ornate flames are sick as hell.
As for the Chaos Legions, I'd argue that Iron Warriors lose out to Imperial fists for one reason only (lack of fabric to go with the armor) and that the aesthetic of the Word Bearers is slept on. Dull Red inscriptions with silver lining, robes, and all of this stuff? Sure the legion as a whole is stupid but the aesthetic is great.
Worst Legion aesthetic belongs to the White Scars, fight me.

Sons of horus represent aint no black legion
Horus needed one heresy to set the imperium ablaze while abbadon needed 13 crusades
Say what you will about Abbadon, but he isn't even a primarch and completed all of his objectives, meanwhile a roided up fresh Chaos powered Horus struggled against an exhausted Sanguinius and only harmed Big E because the Emperor stupidly let him have his tantrum.

I love the Ravenguard. They should be a third, simply because they're so good at their job that ofc people don't put them at first. But they're so good at their job that they still manage to make everyone realize they're top three.

I will glaze Sangy until the end of my life. Sangy is like Christ, brother saw that his Legion was full killers, monsters everything shit under the sun and kneeled before asking them if they would follow him. This single act of humility was so potent that it made these veteran killers and cannibals cry for the first time in their lives. Plus, before the aspirant becomes a blood angel, they more than not Mutant, barely can even be called human, and then with Sanguinius geneseed, they were turned into stuff beauty because my theory is that the inner character of the aspirants brought to the surface while their monstrous physical character was buried beneath the surface. It's like the transformative power of Christ and dont get me started on Sanguinius martyrdom, it's almost a one to one with the crucifixion Jesus. Anyway, great video Jebbels

currently starting a blood angels army. i started painting space marines at 7 years old and you can pretty much guess perfecectly how that went. then i stopped at 11 or so and didn’t do anything until now at 18 years old. i’m starting from 0, i wouldn’t count what i did before as experience

The Night Lords are nightmare human beings who are bearly functional, not one of them is a decent person, and their primarch was a schizophrenic who could bearly tie his shoes without falling into fatalism.
And I love them, and don't want them to be any different. Also, basically ALL of their books are insanely, insanely good. Price of Crows, the Omnibus, and Lesson in Darkness are INSANELY good.

As an emperors children fan I can see the views a lot of people have about them at first glance but they fit the stereotype but I think their depth is similar to night lords especially with their higher ranked characters and color theory I also enjoy their unique 40k design
