    I truly identify with your channel and content, I'm the same way with my car, only JDM parts and to keep it as stock as possible improving on the areas that truly need improvement, keep it up!

    It’s cool that the Endless brakes are blue in color to match the Subaru

    I've loved following your build! I am upgrading my brakes to a two-piece setup from Girodisc. Wondering, thoughts on DOT 5.1 fluid vs DOT 4?

    • @TheLastS209
      @TheLastS209  Рік тому +1

      Dot 4 is all you really need imo. All the track Subaru ppl I know use either Castrol srf, motul rbf 660, or endless. I'm switching to Castrol srf since the motul hasn't really worked well for me.
      Girodisc is a great choice! I would reach out to kns brakes, ken will have to modify your rear pads to fit the 2 pc rear rotors. Basically needs to grind it a little to clear the rotor hat. Other than this modification, the girodisc should go a long way. Thanks for your support!

    Thanks for this. I’m going to need to start doing my own brake flush and bleeds too!
    Def agree w/ everything you said about keeping the engine stock for reliability for us that track the car. heh It’s only been suspension, wheels, tires, brakes, and bucket seat mods for me. Been great so far w/ five track day and some occasional canyon drives.
    I got the same tires and they’ve been great so far and got to test them out in the wet and they were amazing under straight braking. I noticed I would need higher tire pressures for these tires to prevent it from rolling over to the shoulders. I even have -3.3 degrees of camber in the front and thinking 38-40 psi hot might be ideal for our heavy cars. I need to sign up for more track events to test out the tires some more but loving them so far.

    Besides brakes and fluids is there anything else you would do for track day preparations?

    • @TheLastS209
      @TheLastS209  Рік тому +3

      That's all you need to do. Check tires as well and make sure tire pressures are all good and tire wear is normal. Don't fall into the trap of buying all the unnecessary reliability mods, all you need is to make sure you're topped up on oil and running the best oil for track use (Motul 5W40 300V/STI pink oil filter), top tier fuel (Shell 93 V Power), and all fluids (brake, rear diff, trans) are up to date.

    How do you like the tires? My advan v601 are toast and looking for a new replacement

      I love them. They have a much harder sidewall compared to other 200 tw for more direct steering feel. They grip quite well and in some videos they arent far off from a052s. They're also quite good in the rain, and can last a whole season if you do performance driving. I really have no complaints other than them being a bit loud in the cabin, but personally I prefer it that way. Really awesome tire, just a bit pricey as well. Thanks for watching!

      @TheLastS209 how many miles did you get out of them? My factory advans lasted 18k miles and the v601 lasted 9k miles with mixed daily driving and track use.

      @@shawnz5272 I track the car and did like 5 track days, so I can't really give you an estimate of how many miles it can get. Maybe I did 5K miles street and 5 track days with it, and still has some meat left on them for maybe 1-2 more track days.

  • @shamalabadingdong
    @shamalabadingdong Рік тому +1

    How many street miles do you think you could get? If you were only street driving?
    Is 20k possible?

    • @TheLastS209
      @TheLastS209  Рік тому

      If you drive it like a true granny, I believe 20k is the upper limit of these tires

    What happened with the ECF tires? Debating getting them for the dd

      I had a puncture in one of them. I ended up not liking them much, they really numb the steering feel. They are quiet and comfortable if that's what you like. I only had one track session and they grip nicely, but it's not easy to tell it's grip limits. I switched to ad09 because of the harder sidewall and better steering feel, and other reviews show it as a longer lasting version of a052, although not as fast. Be sure to like and subscribe. Thanks for watching!

    Can you tell me the size of tyre for 8x17 wheels?

    • @TheLastS209
      @TheLastS209  10 місяців тому

      Typically you'll want 225/235 width, maybe 45 aspect ratio
