I swear few days ago I was watching a Mario Kart Wii gameplay thinking “it would be so cool if Shortcat also did some videos playing the other games of the franchise”. Perfect timing.
I swear few days ago I just saw a UA-camr called Jperm uploaded a video called solving 6 Rubik’s cubes while getting first in Rainbow Road in Mkwii and he uses a GameCube controller and he and short at shares the same face
King Boo is better in Wii than it is in 8 Deluxe so that's a win for him. King Boo isn't even close to the best heavyweight (the second best heavyweight is Rosalina) but characters do not affect stats by much. As long as he is using Flame Runner he will be good to go.

I feel like going from mkwii to mk8dx, the game feels easy to play cuz of experience, but at the same time both games are really complex with their mechanics so playing at a high level is just not the same lol (that said shortcat played like a God)
obviously Shortcat’s skill plays a huge part in this video, but it’s actually really awesome to see Troy give such specific and helpful directions and then watch Shortcat use those directions perfectly. Awesome video!

Yep. They are way less polished than their future counterparts, incredibly unbalanced, have more glitches than you can shake a stick at, and are held together solely by the hopes and dreams of the people who made it. And that’s why they’re great. The lack of polish unironically adds to the experience of playing these games. There’s nothing more fun than booting one of them up and seeing what kind of insane stuff you’re able to pull off
16:48 it’s crazy cuz they kept the same GBA bowser castles layouts in Tour except BC4! They fully remade that one like SNES BC3 and it looks phenomenal. I wish they had added it to MK8D too.

4:51 shortcat is jperm in one of jperms videos he played mario kart wii and was playing rainbow road when he was thinking to do the moon jump but he wasnt really sure if he wanted to do it (he landed it) this lines up to when he says he learnt the moon jump but wasnt consistent
as some who grew up playing mario kart wii all the time with my siblings (and still to this day plays way to much mario kart 8-) it fills a hole in my heart to see mario kart wii and all its ridiculousness in a video again
Not only have I watched this video twice because the first reason is because I saw this as a crazy thing. The second reason is because I just got Mario kart Wii and I’m learning how to do shortcuts.
MK wii is actually the only MK that I've played so this video was a lot of fun for me. Also I really liked all of the little skill gap things in this game like standstill mts, jumping over pows, insta-starts when Lakitu drops you. Really cool game.

MKWii was the shit for little middle school me, especially because of the insane amount of mods for the game you could easily download on the wii, something I followed since CTGP v1.00, up until I got a Switch. Really would love to get back into it again once I buy a new used wii.
