This was the most wholesome Mario Kart video I've seen. Like an older brother teaching a younger brother how to play a game! 😄 Shortcat gave a really good tutorial and Troy really picked these shortcuts up quick! I actually didn't know a few of these shortcuts, so I have to try these out. Granted online is a totally different story as you have to contend with getting bashed by items while properly performing these!

both of these guys are elite. never played mk8 but love shortcat. played a lot of mkwii and love troy. the vids from both channels are both S+ tier. literally could not get any better.
This was great. I was a little surprised that on Piranha Plant Cove y'all didn't go for the full shortcut on the second one, where there is a miniturbo trick off the ledge, landing on top of the wall and going into a drift, then going over the top of all the rock and landing much further around the corner with a UMT.
You say this now but when its competitive(lounge tier fg+, clan wars, its kinda required to use it since youre likely to get targeted by others when using a different combo. @OtisCluck
@@OtisCluck zero skill? driving with all combos takes basicaly the same ammoiuunt of skill, if not more for meta combo bc u have to do lots of tec with ur high miniterbo and kinda low speed
I'm by no means an expert at some of these courses, but I've been finally able to get my barely over 2 min record on Wario Stadium, down to 1min 57, just by mastering these time saves. These are great!

This is all nice and useful in time trials… but which ones are worth going for in races? Taking other players and items into consideration! The possibility of getting red shelled, or struck by lightning…
All of these are worth it if you can do them consistently! There are shortcuts in this game that are not worth going for online (cheese land has a few) but I only taught Troy the useful ones
he's too good, stop him before he beats all the world records (nobody tell him you should hop on the cannon gliders instead of tricking at 26:24, don't see 26:56 for what you should do)
I dont know if you've done this yet, but you should do a shortcut challenge video with shortcat, kinda like how you would do shortcut challenges back in the day
