Hey everyone! We're Eric Lagerstrom and Paula Findlay. We're both professional triathletes; we train for and race triathlon for a living. Thanks so much for subscribing and helping us keep triathlon fun.

This week we headed to Los Angeles to race the Herbalife 24 LA Triathlon. It's been a bucket list race for us for years, and it didn't disappoint! We kicked taper week off with a pizza party, then wrapped our last couple hard sessions, including a gravel ride through Ben's trail system in Bend, Oregon, where we live. Then we took a quick flight to LA, snuck in a swim at the LA84 swim center and crashed for the night. We swam at Venice Beach to preview the swim course, but otherwise we did't get to see much of the course due to how much traffic there is on the city streets you ultimately race on.

Another entertaining vid ERic, from off road biking in Bend to swimming at Venice beach. You definitely have ocean swimming genes. Getting quickly through the surf and catching a wave coming back in is a skill you have mastered. I would bet you're in the top 5 in the swim, close to Ben Kanute.
I watched the pool segment with Paula’s stroke more than once…..I have stroke envy 🤣🤣🏊🏻♀️

What's the pull buoy that Paula is using? Any advantages/benefits to its design? Asking for a friend who had hamstring surgery and is swimming with one almost exclusively for now.

Also for next year, I’d suggest trying to find an air bnb in Santa Monica rather than Venice. Safer neighborhoods but right next to Venice for access. It’s a whole thing, Venice has issues, which is why you have probably seen signs saying “recall mike bonin”.

I swim in a 32m pool. It’s different! And when I hope into a 25m pool I just seem so much faster! Haha.

Lol, it means the pizza is not cooked long enough, still looked good, the secret to pizza, is one, you don't put animals on it, or Gods creatures, second, you cook it at as high of a tempt as possible, this is where you most likely went wrong, as your friend was being nice, a doughy pizza is under cooked,,,lol

Any time you want to race, training in livermore now, they have a lake, endless mountain bike trails, you beat me, 3,333 for you, and I will pay,,,if I loose, as my dream is to win the big race, and you would be a great start, alctatraz champ,,,now think of it this way, sooner might be better then latter, lol as my run is getting stronger, now bike is getting weaker, lol did not expect that, actually really thought just the opposite would happen, like building a better cardio, faster bike, but seems my hips, loose power after building a faster run, like what makes my legs swing fast running, is not what makes you bike faster, this is why you should be able to beat loinal, you should be able to out run him, and your aero is better, you just need the bounce, like watch whats her name, people all the pros, mostly women, lol, but Juan has it down to, buy look at their shoulders, they are like snaking, that's what you need, and your well come, and no worries, I want you at your best, if I ever get the race, and they have dog friendly camp ground, lake del val:)
What you're describing at the beginning makes me think of the netflix show called "Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat" where the best balance of all 4 is the secret for perfect taste :p

Such a FUN video. Between your friends Nick and Danny, you have some very creative friends. Congrats on your LA race. It takes a certain type of athlete to excel in adverse/ challenging conditions. In the running circles we call those athletes mudders.
Always get caught out when your busy schedule denotes mid-week updates, instead of the Sunday slot, but hey your athletes first and foremost, another great video, seems everyone who is anyone in Tri was in LA. Must have been sweet racing up and down the main streets. Hope you both did ok, look forward to seeing the update, post-race. Although I think you might be off to Oceanside, if I remember rightly, anyway stay safe, much love from the UK. See you next week, or next update.

It is, but it’s significantly smaller than the previous packaging, like 70% less plastic. We don’t have it with us, but we’ll actually be using their 30 serving bottle (aluminum) with the reusable flask, except for when we race. endurancetap.com/products/us-15-shot-multi-serve

What's the oven called?
Ooni (I’m pretty sure that’s the spelling) we got the bigger model. The smaller one would probably have worked for “personal” size pizzas. We do more family style

Other than a few injury stressors (who wouldn't get frustrated w/ that stuff?!), she seems to always be a pretty focused athletea/chica and actually w/ a hilarious deadpan sense of humor.
