To me, Burden’s legacy will not just be his overall on-field performance and clutch moments. His decision to go to Mizzou made a huge impact on other recruits in the last few years as well as transfers into the program. While I do recognize Drink’s ability to recruit well and NIL’s impact, Burden coming to Mizzou has to be recognized as a primary reason our program has swung back in the right direction
The thought of Luther downing the ball () after running across the field to waste more time) crossed my mind too. But this was 20/20 hindsight as at the time I thought the defense could hold SC out of the endzone for a 70 seconds. And, you're right, in that moment any player would have headed for the end zone as hey should. Yes, the OLine run blocking was phenomenal, wich they'd have run more in the first half.
I would never forget Theo Wease for remembering Luther. Wease was far more effective this season than Luther. Pyne threw a better pass to Luther in the OU game.
I get what Gabe is saying. He could have had bigger numbers but I think that’s more on OC and QB. And NO he was not better at Mizzou than Maclin. You could argue Danario was also better. Maclin 2 years 5609 all purpose yards 33 tds Luther Burden 3 years 2637 all purpose yards 25 tds Danario Alexander 4 years 2837 all purpose yards 22 tds 1781 receiving yards his last year when he was the guy
I disagree about going to the portal for WR. Our 3 primary targets this year (Burden, Wease and Cooper) will all be gone. That leaves Manning, Johnson as 1-2 and you’ve got Blood and then a bunch of young guys and highly rated true freshmen: Crutchfield, Madison, Terry, Olugbode. Don’t know where Mekhi Miller is as far as years
Noel is the best player on Missouri. When he plays the team plays better and he opens up the offensive. Burden just has the best game that adjusts to the pro levels. Burden played well for his career but there’s a lot of players that were better career wise and that’s okay.
If burdens legacy is a disappointment then cook’s legacy is also a disappointment burden can’t call plays for himself and he can’t throw himself the ball so gave should just shut up and talk about what he knows
WR in the portal? Are you nuts? Manning, Blood, Johnson, Crutchfield, Madison, MIller. I think RB is fine. QB is a definite need, Horn is a baseball player not a QB. In fact he should dump Horn's scholarship on the baseball program and end this farce. I hate to even say it but if the Pavia case gets through quickly, Cook should take advantage of staying. He has zero future in the NFL, maybe holding a clipboard as the third stringer or practice squad guy.
Noel being back is going to do that. He’s the best Tiger when he plays. If he didn’t get hurt they season would have been different. When he plays his running open ups the l throw game. Cook is a game manager that needs to play in a run first offense. He’s not bad but he’s not a game changer.
I think the biggest problem at Missouri is the Team needs a football coach not a Golf Player with a yuppy Visor cap on. Does Eli Drinley look like a Golf Player and not a football player to anyone but me. Let's get real the Tigers need a coach that can teach them how to tackle. Perhaps an x Missouri all SEC Tackle or Defensive End. Say an x Jefferson City Missouri Jay like the All Pro NFL Defensive End Justin Smith for example. Now don't he look more like a football player than what we got now?

I am not disappointed with Luther Burden's Mizzou career.

luther is great player Gabe is also great love his honest analysis He tells like it is no sugar coating unlike a lot of podcasters
It’s not been a disappointment. Luther a first round nfl pick he’s a rich rich man. Congratulations LB3.
Build Luther a statue.
For?
We need to get to the playoffs next season before the schedule switches up. After next year we play Georgia, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Texas, and LSU
Luther Burden is not from Illinois, he's from Missouri John. He played in Illinois for one season, but he's born and raised here in Missouri.
I would never forget Theo Wease for remembering Luther. Wease was far more effective this season than Luther. Pyne threw a better pass to Luther in the OU game.

Maclin 2 years

Luther Burden 3 years
2637 all purpose yards 25 tds
Danario Alexander 4 years
2837 all purpose yards 22 tds

It’s not argument. They both was better. Burden goes in the same category as DGB

Nothing he has done is disappointing. Only how little he was utilized is disappointing.

Corey Batoon should be singled out. His defensive scheme sucked. He didn't have the Tigers ready for SC.
He's got cooked for big plays way too many times this year. Who ever coaches tackling needs to be let go too.
Hot take: Now with the playoff hopes dashed, the pressures off and Missouri finishes looking much more like they did last year.
