I realised I connected the chopper cable to the wrong hole - after making a point which hole it was!
It was just the inverse and worked fine, Will orrect it when I do the LCD backlight mod later - watch this space!

@@frankreal2258 See time 13:15 where the 3 connection points are shown.
The chopper cable goes to the hole near U8 marked Chop. I acidentally connected mine to the one further back named N-Chop (which is just the inverse signal so makes no odds really since it will just be the trigger for the scope!

Excuse me, could you tell me how you removed the front panel of the power meter?

I didn't need to remove front panel in this video. The instructions are in the manual page 105 - not sure if you need to remove the rubber cover if there is one

Hard to say, I can really only point the way at how to get started. Battery is a bit marginal but probably okay. Since it is a soft power button I would start there and make sure that it actually signals the processor board and power board and that the front panel to processor board connections are all working (Boards A2 and A1 I think), after that make sure there is a clock on the processor board. You may be able to disconnnect some of the other boards (so there is just proessor/power and display) and see if that narrows things down. To me I would proably look for the quick wins - switch, conection to processor board, then it seems that if all power lines are present (try and monitor when you press the switch for variaitons) it is most likely the processor board - after all it just needs waking up and a clock in order to output to the display!

sorry, forgot to say, also take a look on eevblog forum, likely someone else has had your problem. And if you do get it going let people know what you did on there - I think it is a good place to build a lot of information on test gear.

This is the service manual, not the keysight one, there is not much more in these older older manuals but I think keysight redacted a few more pages
