3rd Full Face Vbeam/Laser/PDL for redness, PIE skin damage

- I used Mirvaso in 2017, and my skin has never been the same since. Mirvaso damaged my skin, causing post-inflammatory erythema. This is my third full face Vbeam to eliminate the blood vessel abnormalities.
Wishing you all the best on your journey.
You can’t be out in the sun doing this. Love who you are ..
Hey! A good honest video. Good to see a guy who doing these sort of videos and being open and honest. I feel your pain I’ve had mirvaso is no good! Also having v beams now and then myself. Well done 👍👍
Ughh. Mirvaso. Shit really does fucking happen, eh?
It certainly does!!! 😩😩
Mirvaso didn't work for me either! I developed rebound flushing and redness, so I stopped using it! Only tetracycline antibiotics, V-Beam lasers and 2% Salicylic acid cleansers worked for me! Also I take Rosadyn capsules on a chronic basis.
You're such a relaxing person. Thank you for the content.
Hi! That’s so crazy.... your experience with mirvaso. I was in the clinical trial for mirvaso years ago and could not handle the rebound redness I would get from it. The nurse/researcher at the derm’s office where the trial was...was aware that patients were getting rebound redness from the drug, but they really tried to look passed that I feel.. so that they could underreport this horrible side effect so galderma could have so called good findings in the trial. The derm in the office was so aware of the rebound redness that she was prescribing metrogel (another galderma product) to the patients in the trial to help with the inflammation. But as you may or may not know, metrogel does little to help with redness. Luckily I don’t really notice a worsening of my redness off the drug completely..I really feel for you. Mirvaso was so strong. I do have little success with rhofade but I wouldn’t suggest that to you given your negative experience with a topical vasoconstrictor. I’ve had more than 10 vbeam treatments, but the redness always returns for me sadly. The best results I’ve gotten with vbeam is when I’ve had it with photodynamic therapy where a topical is applied to your skin before the pdl treatment... the downtime is a bitch though. I’m going to receive intradermal botox soon for my flushing/blushing. Do you have any thoughts on intradermal Botox or have you researched it, it sounds promising. I’m really hoping it helps me with the intense burning I get when my face flushes. Also, I would love to know how excel v works for you if you ever try it out!
HI. Is it safe to do Vbeam over the beard area? Didn't cause any hair reduction? Hope you can help me with this!
It's fine. No hair loss.
Pleased to see it is going well. Where did you get the V beam done and with which doctor? How much was it?
Dr Anand Patel in Nottingham. £340.
Thanks for ur help😘 I would now go for v beam laser
Hey, did you try out intermitting fasting oder fasting in general against redness? The process called autophagy activated by fasting should be very beneficial against a variety of diseases in the human body
Yes I'm doing intermittent fasting most days. I o about 16 hours a day without eating. I feel hungry but want my body to go into repair mode and get to work on my skin.
Regarding fat atrophy, PDL doens't cause this. Other laser treatments, CO2 for inststance, are more likely to however.
Any updates since this treatment(third)? Im about to have VBEAM to fix what another laser doctor did. She ruined my skin with the incorrect laser to treat rosacea/flushing. My new doctor spotted what happened and recommended the correct laser treatment. Im nervous to have Vbeam because of bruising but she said she would do at a low setting to not have bruising. May I ask why you have so much bruising?
I have so much bruising because I had Vbeam at the higher settings. It's an aggressive laser for sure, and it at 595nm it is getting deep into the skin. I still have not healed properly from this. The parts of my face that looked REALLY bruised, where it was almost black, have taken the longest to fade, and are still noticeable. In fact, right now, I am worse than before I had the Vbeam in that I have new baseline redness.
I'm hoping to clear these red parts up with a lesser known and less aggressive laser called KTP. It is cheaper than Vbeam (PDL) as KTP penetrates to only 532nm and is cheaper. There's little to no downtime, unlike PDL whish has obviously persisted with its downtime for many months. I had an an unusual healing process as I had a contact dermatitis episode about 8 weeks after this video was made. I felt it ruined the skin which was in the middle of trying to heal from the laser.
@@recoveringfromredness9343 how did u had contact dermatitis ? Plz update on ur skin . Is it healed now ? How long u had bruising after 1st n 2nd laser treatment ?
Hi how's it going now ? Have you ever thought about having the nerve Operation that stops it ?
I consulted a thoracic surgeon about having that ETS procedure done and he told me "You won't like the side effects from it." So I forgot about that. This was about 2004.
Did you get crusting and any blisters from Pulse Dye Laser? Also, did you experience any hyperpigmentation or hypopigmentation?
Hey 🙂 is it normal to experience tightening and horrible itching of the treated area the following days /weeks? Thank you ! It is so nice to have someone document their experiences 👍
Hmm, I didn't have that. I use warm vaseline on my face most days to trap in moisture and aid healing. That might help relieve the unpleasant sensations.
I get a feeling that this is my problem. Really hoping for something to remove the redness.nit looks terrible. I can relate with it looking like birth marks when it flares up. I really feel for you and understand totally what you're going through. Btw, you are super handsome and even more so for doing these video's for others to see how this might go for us too. Thankyou so much.
I have facial redness from my temple down to the middle of my cheeks , sort of like an L shape. I’m so tired of it and want to get rid of it, I’m normally not red but when I workout or feel embarrassed I feel a rush of blood go to my face and it gets hot. What type of treatment would you recommend?
Vbeam I'd say. Propanolol might also help.
Make sure you induce your flush right before getting treatment for best results
100%
I’m permanently red, there are times it’s worse and time’s it’s better however always red to some degree, which would you recommend because I also don’t have any visible capillaries just red thank you and hope your redness is going away!
Before you do any laser or anything like that, get an LED machine from Amazon or somewhere like that. The one I have I bought a few weeks ago. It emits 7 colours including YELLOW. I use it on the yellow setting, as this supposedly helps redness fade. I use it every day for 20 minutes.
Search for "omega LED machine Amazon" and look at the machines that you lay under. These machines are about 60 watts output, which is much stronger than the 5 watt mask I was using for several years.
Don't jump into PDL yet. Just try what I said. The machine will be about $100 - $150 and is yours to keep. Look up yellow LED light therapy on UA-cam and look for the video by Dr Davin Lim.
How has your skin been now that it's about a month past when you got it done. See any reduction in baseline redness, or any more reduction in flushing?
It's not been a month yet, and I'm still healing from the bruising by the laser. I check most days and honestly, it's hard to tell. There's still redness from the laser.
@@recoveringfromredness9343 Oh the bruises are still there? Did they stay that long the other times you got it done? I am getting my first vbeam on Saturday.
Megan Smith My skin isn’t 100% until 5-7 weeks after my vbeam treatments. Depends on the settings.
@@megansmith2477 Yes the bruising hangs around for ages. Don't fall for the hype when people says it only lasts a few hours or days. That is nonsense. It can persist a long time. It's been nearly 6 months for me and I STILL haven't healed from the laser bruises.
I had complications after the treatment. My face flushed badly due to an irritating moisturiser. This severely aggravated my skin when it was in the middle of trying to heal from laser. Thankfully, things are getting better thanks to Niacinamide daily.
I've booked in for v beam consultation. Is it honestly worth it? How do you feel about your results after 3 treatments? How are you at baseline now?
After three treatments, I feel way better and look better. My skin is more stable and less reactive. My baseline right now is okay, but I'm still needing to heal from the bruising which is a kind of light pink with speckles. It seems to me that the more treatments I have the longer it takes to heal. I mentioned this on a rosacea forum (not that I have rosacea btw) and someone else agreed with the theory that healing takes longer with subsequent treatments.
Never the less, it has been worth it for me but is not the only thing I've been doing. I have had one IPL (Nov 2018) and also began using azelaic acid in Jun 2019, working up to a 20% strength. I feel this helped a lot. Also, I use Hyaluronic Acid and Niacinamide by The Ordinary (very cheap) to build up and strengthen the skin barrier.
Keep in mind, folks, that Vbeam while effective is actually destroying your skin barrier. You'll need to rebuild that which is why after 8 weeks following my treatment, I still wear vaseline most days. It's cold here in the UK and I find my skin is less irritated by the elements if I wear a layer of it on my treated areas.
@@recoveringfromredness9343 do you still have the dot effect after 3 treatments? How long is it for a full recovery from treatment the derm I saw today said absolutely fine after 7 days? I'm really in two minds about it. I want to treat my post inflammatory erythema but don't want to risk further damage to my skin. Did you see improvement from the first treatment? Can you recommend an azeleic acid?
@@antonyarcuri3362 The patchiness has gotten better with more treatments. With each treatment they go over the same parts as well as areas they missed before, as in the gap areas. You will not be fine after 7 days, not if you have treatment with heavy bruising.
@@recoveringfromredness9343 in reality how long is the recovery? I think I'm just going to have to go for it
@@antonyarcuri3362 I don't know how long your recovery will be because I don't know what kind of treatment you're having. I had heavy bruising, and of today (23rd Jan 2020) I still haven't fully healed. I use 3 months as a benchmark, but this third treatment seems to be taking longer to heal.
The laser marks are a faint pink and are not too obvious unless I get too cold or too warm. You'll be needing sunscreen vaseline, something Cerave moisturiser and ideally medication to help prevent flushes as you heal. Propranolol might help. Also, make bone broth and drink it every day, as it contains collagen and can go towards helping your immune system and skin. Don't take aspirin. Try to lay the table beforehand.
The best time to do this is in winter. If you do this now, you'll probably still be healing in May.
I’m trying to find a cure for facial flushing too. I was on roaccutane for 8 months. It’s been a year since I’ve stopped it and I was left with facial redness and flushing.. it’s so frustrating. I’ve tried IPL that didn’t do shit to my face. I was thinking about v beam as well, but wow this is scary. Where do you get your treatment done ? Thru nhs?
No, it's not available on NHS. It has to be paid for. Have you tried propranolol, slow-release, for the flushing? Many people report success with it. I'm on it, and hope to start coming off it or at least reducing the dose.
You could also try niacinamide daily for at least three months. I've used it in the past and am using it again now (one week in) Check out The Ordinary as their niacinamide is ridiculously cheap and everyone loves it. It could help in reducing redness as well as strengthening your moisture barrier.
Recovering from Redness thanks , but I prefer holistic path, I’m trying to reduce my flushing and redness naturally ☺️ but thanks for the advice! Also if you’re using propranolol and you’re still flushing then it hasn’t really helped.
@@viktorijak1884 did u have flushing or rosacea before the treatment?
@@elieldar5714 no, nothing. But I’m okay now , I don’t flush anymore. :)
Excel v is not strong enough if you need smaller ms. So I need to switch to vbeam for that exact reason.
does mirvaso make you sensitive to heat ??? do you ever use to flush from heat , cold and sun prior to mirvaso??
Hi Suneeta. Yes, prior to Mirvaso I would flush from heat and cold. The sun never was a problem for me. After I used Mirvaso, I was even more sensitive because Mirvaso made my baseline skin much, much redder.
How long did it take to heal?
hi i have a question sorry to disturb you again .. is angiogenesis from mirvaso going to heal .. will the redness go away ??
Yes it is healing for me. The angiogenesis of my blood vessels on my face has been lessened with each pulsed dye laser (Vbeam) treatment. I have a AM & PM skin routine involving topicals like Hyaluronic Acid to help it along. The Vbeam laser has helped push the overgrowth of the blood vessels right back... 595nm is the ideal wavelength for this.
Arnica gel only. Natural soothing pushes blood away from the surface. You may want to use that all year for prevention. Perfectly safe.
It get the redness rid plZ tell me
What the type of arnica gel you used
Hey, i had a V Beam Treatment for the Redness of my Scar. The area was purple at day one and now After 2 weeks the area where treated is red. But i have now redness, where no redness was before the treatment. You have a Idea how long does it take that the redness goes away. Im very thankful for an answer. And sorry for my Bad english im from Germany :)
It's far too early for you to be worrying about when the redness will go away. Give it three months minimum. Use Vaseline every day to keep your skin moisturised, as wound healing accelerates when skin is kept moist. Stay out of the sun too.
I'm at five months post-treatment and have STILL not healed. In fact, my face is worse in the areas I was treated. Yes, I've seen a worsening, now with what appears to be post-inflammatory erythema (PIE). Like red acne marks, this can take a LONG time to go away.
I believe the reason this happened to me is that, eight weeks post-treatment, a moisturiser burned my face (contact dermatitis). This could have disrupted my healing so much that it caused blood vessel dilation. So, be careful!
You could try using Niacinamide from The Ordinary, which I am using to help repair my skin barrier. Hopefully, in three months or so, my redness will have gone away or at least improved.
You mix a few drops of Niacinamide with your moisturiser and apply to a wet face. Allow to dry and cover the face with warm Vaseline. I leave on overnight and cleanse the next morning in the shower. Good luck.Tschüss!
(I'm learning German by the way - what else is there to do in lockdown?!)
Hey plz update with ur skin . How long did the redness took to go ? How many treatments u had ? What % improvement u have after each treatment ? Plz answer
How are you doing? Healing well?
Kind of. It's been a long road this time, due to complications that weren't the fault of the laser practitioner. rather, a nasty contact dermatitis due to an irritating moisturiser set me back about 4 months.
@@recoveringfromredness9343 oh no, did you try a different product? Was it an infection? You haven't seen the benefits of your final session? Hope you're well mate.
@@antonyarcuri3362 It was a moisturiser that I'd used for years without issue. I always applied it on wet skin but on this occasion by face had air-dried slightly. I applied the moisturiser and 5 minutes later my skin felt hot. Looked in the mirror and everything was bright red.
@@recoveringfromredness9343 sorry about that mate. Would you say your laser treatment worked in the end?
Should I go for vbeam or pdl for first treatment suffering with facial blushing exact same symptoms as you
PDL and Vbeam are the same thing. It uses a 595nm wavelength to get down as deep as the dermis, targeting only the red (hemoglobin). Before you do this, you might want to look into KTP laser (532nm) which is shallower but doesn't have the downtime of Vbeam. Vbeam will make a mess of your face for at least 3 months.
Hi,,, I've just had my first v beam for facial redness and flushing... It's day 2 and my face is swollen and very bruised. Im putting on vaseline and eating pineapple twice a day ....
Did you had blisters on your face ?
No. I used vaseline right after treatment and continued doing so most days for many months. Occlusion helps keep skin moist and heal faster, reducing the chance of blisters.
Where’s your results.
may i know about your vbeam results from this video?
The results were poor. Flushing was worse.
Isn't IPL treatment helpful?
A little, yes, but you need lots of treatments to see a difference. IPL is not a vascular laser. Also, I worry about fat loss from IPL.
I hope you get some relief, I've had 5 vbeam treatments and although it helped tone the redness, the blush/flush still continued, not as severe though, I'm now waiting on going for ets surgery through the NHS as it's effecting my life quite alot, especially the intense burning that comes with the flush
I hope you'll hold off on ETS as you cannot put the genie back in the bottle after that! Your flushing could well be diet-related. Mine mainly was, and I suspect leaky gut and stress played a part in it. Laser treats symptoms but not causes, perhaps.
How well did it reduce the redness? At least 50% ?
your skin looks really nice and also zero redness now ..
Have you heard of The Ordinary?
@@recoveringfromredness9343 yes .. but my skin is so weak that even water can burn it so I won't be able to use it though ...
@@recoveringfromredness9343 what do you recommend from The Ordinary? If you don't mind me asking
@@suneetapammnani2100 Ouch, I am sorry to hear that.
@@IceHong10 Hyaluronic Acid, Niacinamide. Use them daily, for months and months with moisturiser.
do you recommend ipl to get rid of capillaries
No, that's the wrong sort of treatment. The Cutera Excel V would be better for capillaries.
I have Rosacea l do not permanent redness
Does vbeam help me
@@eminegozdeli1211 The Vbeam, at 595nm, targets hemoglobin, which is what gives your face its blood red appearance. Vbeam might help, but you may need several treatments. I feel that laser though is really only treating symptoms. Skin issues can be traced to your diet or nutritional deficiencies, I think. Obviously, wear a physical sunscreen of at least SPF30 and see about Hyaluronic Acid and Niacinamide from The Ordinary as a daily topical routine for your face.
Thank you
I jost got it done yesterday, here in belgium they don’t let you bruis that much thats why i have to come for a second round, but the good thing is i heal mutch faster but you should come often
Bone broth and fat plus keto diet is great.
led light treatment was effective
I'm considering this. Was it effective for reducing redness? How many treatments?
@@antonyarcuri3362 It takes a long time. Get an at home mask and use it regularly.
Any update??
I still have laser created red marks on my face. I had a bad contact dermatitis 8 weeks post-treatment. I'm convinced this aggravated the blood vessels that would have otherwise coagulated. I'm trying to fade this remaining faint redness with topicals. Wearing lots of sunscreen when out in the sun, as anyone should.
is it possilbe the rebound redness goes away withou vbeam laser?.. mirvaso is SHIT... omg... big mistake to use this stuff.. it should be banned

Recovering from Redness I’ve joined! Please can you tell me What’s your username? I’ve done my first Vbeam 2 days ago. I just wanted to ask you if your face is better after several treatments? Do you see a difference after 3 treatments? Are you going to continue to do it? My doctor told me I’ll have to do it once a year just to maintain it after my 3-4 sessions are done.
@@aleksandraperisic5995 Username is darren1
My third treatment went bad. I flushed badly during recovery and the marks never healed. My face is generally better after three treatments but still worse than before Mirvaso.
Recovering from Redness I’m so sorry to hear that. Are you ok? What did your doctor say? Why did that happen? Your advice is then not to do it since it’s not safe. I don’t understand why it got worse ... that’s very discouraging... I’m supposed to do my second treatment in July
@@aleksandraperisic5995 The doctor has not replied to my email, so I don't know what he will say. The redness caused by the laser may yet totally fade. It is PIE, which is the same type of redness left behind after acne - and that can take a minimum of a year to fade.
I'm using Hyaluronic Acid and Niacinamide, and I think the skin is a little better, considering I thought the redness had simply stopped fading at around 3 months. It's now past 7 months and I'm gradually starting up the Azelaic Acid again (20% strength) which could be what fades the PIE.
I DO understand why it got worse. As I said I flushed badly while my face was still healing from the laser. Specifically, it was a contact dermatitis reaction from a moisturiser that has actually irritated me before. I used it again not realising, and my face was burning hot for over an hour. Very painful. Not good when the blood vessels in my face are supposed to be collapsing/coagulating after the laser. It's like everything opened up again, like opening up a healing wound.
