Cutera Excel V laser (KTP) 3 hours post-treatment | Rosacea

  • A few hours ago I had a Cutera Excel V (KTP, 532nm) full face treatment for redness and flushing following damage from Mirvaso gel in 2017 and Vbeam damage in 2019. Here's what I think to the treatment. You can see the redness created by this latest laser treatment, which I hope heals and fades over the next few days, leaving normal skin. One ting I found off putting about the whole experience is the persistent hard cross-selling of complimentary topical products.

Darren, your face looks far better than when I first followed you! I had a failed KTP/Nd yag on my skin. It makes me flush bad now in places I didn’t before. I’m opting for Botox next from a doctor in NY who specializes in micro Botox for flushing

The KTP never helped and the clinic that did it shouldn’t even be in business in my opinion! I’m pretty pissed off with the whole experience and it was foolish of me to trust a business that I could see had hundreds of fake reviews.
I was just so desperate to get relief. By the way, in some of the videos that you’ve seen I am flushing, and sometimes I’m not, so it’s really hard for anyone to judge what is “better”.
I’ve had clinics literally tell me there’s nothing wrong with me and nothing to treat. They can’t understand that the flushing is the real problem

I started Vbeam again recently after not being able to find a clinic that does it for a long time. I have to travel a long way to the clinic I go to now and I’m still not sure if it’s helping

Hello Daren, I had exactly the same experience :
    - mirvaso damage in late 2016 with rebound
    - purpuric laser treatment in mid 2017 that increased the number of visible blood vessels, I experienced fat loss under my eyes after this operation, with patchy red patterns on my skin
    - vbeam perfecta non purpuric operation in mid 2018 that produced even more blood vessels
To sum up, all these things worsened my situation and my skin is really damaged from mirvaso/lasers

I am experiencing the same symptoms ... So you go for a procedure that costs an absolute fortune & here i am watching my face flush & look sunburnt one month after my 3rd treatment ... Also i have noticed that i have demarcation marks of uneven skin tone ... they look like blotchy little maps where the edges are red ... No one tells you this any of this before you head on in thinking all its going to do it help my uneven skin tone / flushing which has made it far worse ... nightmare

    • @recoveringfromredness9343
      @recoveringfromredness9343  Рік тому +2

It’s absolutely infuriating isn’t it? I can manage the symptoms, but doing so is hard work and it feels like I’m micromanaging every aspect of my life just to stop from flushing.
I’ve tried to explain these things to people who know me but they either don’t care or think I’m making it up because “you look fine”. I often use tinted sunscreens to hide the redness as well as taking medications to prevent flushing. The damage is very real and for me it all started with Mirvaso.
If it hadn’t been for Mirvaso I might have been able to have laser in a more proactive way instead of using it to try and I do rebound redness

I’ve had my first PDL and his approach is quite different from the mainstream approach of purpuric focussed treatments. He doesn’t charge for a consult - and in general his pricing is the most reasonable I’ve seen.

Maybe it could help you to get another dermatologist‘s view whether KTP/V-beam is generally the Right treatment for your flushing-. that would at least be my approach in your Situation. And that is also what I regularly do when I am unsatisfied with the current treatment or when I have doubts about the prescription. - Hope you will be better soon!

I used and still use propranolol to help reduce flushing but not as often I used to. Azelaic acid and Vitamin C products may be helping me.
I’m in the process of getting more Vbeam which includes treatments on my ears, which always had the worse redness and rebound with a lot of pain too.

You could start with Azelaic acid and then introduce a diluted ascorbic acid (Vit C) slowly. That might do the trick. Take it slow, do research, and don’t be fooled into spending a fortune on products my people working at clinics pushing fad solutions.

I have seen improvement. My face used to be very unstable due to Mirvaso. I've had numerous lasers on my face and yet my ears still flush, which started happening because of Mirvaso. I've had no laser on my ears and yet they still do flush hot and red in hot rooms. or even in normally rooms if I've been out in freezing weather.
Evidentally, the laser seems to have helped my face quite a bit, even if the Nov 2019 PDL didn't heal right and was a setback.
