I think I have binge-watched all Gavins videos in the past few weeks and today I found myself up at 4am up a mountain wondering how my face looked! lol thanks for the boost of enthusiasm! Great videos looking forward to the next one
I have been working from home for 1.5 years and I watch your videos since, and you make my day every time. Thank you for that. But I think if Amanda had taken a few photos, you might already have a million subscribers :D
I just love these longer videos where we are presented with lessons, today on composition. And that technique you taught, I believe you called it "the wave of hatery(?)". My god man, that is just brilliant! The way you waved, the precision, I have no words to thank you for all these techniques that greatly enhance our photography. Thank you so much master Hardcastle.
Can't quite put my finger on why (and I love all your videos) but this was just that bit more satisfying. Maybe because you turned it around after not being sure of the elements and time getting in the way but getting those stunning shots was very gratifying to watch. Always great banter, fun and always learning something. Quality.
This reminds me of my favorite lake back home in Bavaria, Königsee....viewing the Austrian alps reflections in the still lake in the distance ....now Im homesick...thank you or sharing this magical location and one I wouldn’t have to get on a plane to see...long road trip....
You and Adam are making this world a better place with your videos. No doubt about that. 😃. Thanks again for another entertaining vlog, Gavin. Amanda is such a fun lady and Colin has definitely earned to get more screen time!
Ahhh this was worth the wait !! Techno Adam might just catch on :-) great to see you had to take the shot .. it would have been rude not to :-) another banger episode in the bag
Thoroughly loved this video Gavin, your natural humour (ahem), and gift for comedy is sublime, right enough of that, just wanted to say fantastic scenary and some great shots, how I envy you living where you do, great to see uncle grumpy too. Till next time, 👍
Ahh yes, a cup of mushroom tea and then a paddle in your imaginary boat... happens every time! Seriously though, a finely tuned sense of silliness that one does have. Much respect.
Sitting here in Liverpool, watching the rain fall from the black clouds… I often wonder what attracted you to move from Yorkshire to the idiclic Canadian mountain ranges. And, Amanda is a keeper! She’s adopted the British humour like an expert 🤩
Mad props on using a polarizer to mask the reflection of the non-distorted mountains in the center of the frame. First time I have come across that one!!! Cheers
We played a drinking game, every time there was an advert we took a drink, 3 of my friends are now in hospital with alcohol poisoning. We're still up for watching next week, mad skills Gavin !
Well worth the hike, what a stunning place to be and the images are well worth it too. Amanda is such a joy. I love the combination of hilarity and photography.
Another good one. Fast becoming my fav channel. Really enjoy your approach to photography and the ability to occassionally let a nugget of the technical slip through the entertainment.
Heartwarming... Educational too.. I stumbled on a view from a spot with mountain view in a very steep rocky forest in Wicklow that may prove to be my first real opportunity for some decent shots and Fototripper will be in my thoughts as I fumble around trying to put into practice what we learn here.. Will camp for a few nights to help with that..
Holy crap mate, just finished a night shift, it's around 4.40am here down under, nearly choked on my whiskey watching this one. Funny as mate. I'm even starting to learn some photography. Well done. I just got to stop laughing my arse off so I can finish my whiskey and get some sleep.
What beautiful scenery you have there. Well worth all the efforts of the hikes. I purchased your Moron course yesterday 😆..just downloading the files and looking forward to watching them 👍
To Peak or not to Peak thats the question, you know what i dont give dam, the shots still looked bloody amazing, and for me it would also be about the experience of seeing for real as well as shooting it. Good work as always. Think Amanda is ready for the kayak in the next olympic games.
Heart wrenching to put all the effort in to wake up to cloudy skies but firplay to your perseverance and you got firly well rewarded . its like the lotto " if your not in you cant win" ontil next time bye for now.
Hey Gavin, you have amazing channel and have made some incredible images. Right balance of entertainment and usefulness. JUST FYI (Maybe I'm not the first one to tell you) "tripper" transliterated in Russian is colloquial term for "gonorrhea", counterpart to "the clap" in English, I guess. I'm no 18y old anymore, but still cannot hold back from cracking up because of that. I think I'm just jealous that I wouldn't be able to shoot and process images like you. And that feature is very useful to be instantly recognized among Ru-speaking auditory. You know, "fototripper" is going viral)))) Oh damn, that's so childish.
@@fototripper Right now I feel very embarrassed for that comment. At least I have a chance to say again that you create amazing content, and somehow transforming stereotypical perception of landscape photographers. It can be entertaining!
While you were watching Amanda row her tree canoe, is that a personal best for keeping a straight face without laughing? Funny stuff, thanks for sharing. All you needed was Brent and a martini shaker!
I would recommend you try Spot Wx for weather, Gavin. There are multiple forecast models (which can give a sense of the uncertainty) and various prediction horizons for those models.
Excellent technique for elongating a stubby groyne into a monolithic edifice and adding a tip at the peak. Hmmm, I wonder where I might apply this technique?
Amanda is such a goof...perfect for you Gavin. You gotta have a good sense of humor. Hiking and photographing is not that easy and trying to come up with content can be a little....well, I'm sure you know what I mean. Great video! p.s. I don't know if I want to fake the photo but, sometimes is very tempting
"I hope she had ear plugs? well I had a butt plug" at that point I thought we were in a 'Carry On ' film ! then the Medley salami 'gag' it most be Carry On Snapping?
Ah the snoring and the farting, you know your camping when you can hear them from your own tent and even worse when it’s you that’s doing it. Great location and great images
Wow what a beautiful lake and location!!! You Canadians have the beautiful spots, that's for sure. ~Flatland Texan. [did that (x)brit just say who gives a S*** about tea?!?]
That’s a pretty cool trick with the crop sensor lenses. It becomes like a pseudo tilt shift lens. I bet that combined with focus stacking would be pretty cool as well.
thats why I love sony, you get cheap apsc lens, just switch to apsc mode and you good to go with a bit cropped image ofcourse (which isnt any problem on sony)
You 2(not the band) make such a great couple. I’ll confess I do love your tutorials but I also love to view Amanda and how she has become a very intrical part of your whole group. When she was in the tent her cheeks were rosy like makeup was applied but she did look like you just woke her up. I also love that bit about pointing you camera facing down to get those elongated peeks. I also have that same 10-18 aps-c lens could put on my a7RII. WILL THAT ALSO WORK FOR THE 24-105 lens I wonder? Thanks again for the excellent videos oh, and Amanda.
After learning the technique for the wave of hatred I have worked diligently to improve on it, one day I hope to become a master such as yourself. Also, as a native of the Appalachian Mountains [Much MUCH smaller mountains] on the east coast, I can tell you there is no weather app, cloud radar, that really works, however I have found that aviation weather forecasts get it pretty close! Maybe try it out.
Great video as always. Not every trip gets a great image but half the fun is the trip itself. BTW, what Patagonia puffy are you wearing in this video? I really like that and want to look at getting one.
I wrote a book: www.fototripper.com/chasing-awe-landscape-photography-book-gavin-hardcastle/
Think Amanda might have been hanging out with you guys for a little too long, it's rubbing off on her! She is fabulous and full of fun and joy 😁👍🏻
I must say the out takes are pure GOLD!!
I think I have binge-watched all Gavins videos in the past few weeks and today I found myself up at 4am up a mountain wondering how my face looked! lol thanks for the boost of enthusiasm! Great videos looking forward to the next one
How do u not have more subs ?
This is one of my favorite channels !
Always entertaining , Always informative
Great music in the video, it added to the beauty of the location. Amanda is a gem.
I think Amanda has spent too much time with you guys 🤣🤣🤣 she's lost her marbles 🤣🤣📸
So glad you got Adam Gibbs to be in another video! Really brings the quality up to a whole new level!
Amanda is hilarious at the end! Cheers to you lot.

Amanda at the end, loved it! Beautiful photos Gavin!
Just loved those cloud shots of the lake and mountains.
Great shots. And at the end with Amanda...laughed til I cried.

👍🏻☺👍🏻 Another great video! Perfect mix of humour and photography... I assume plenty of bug spray was used for the shirtless part 😉
None was used. My essence of Ichiban noodles killed any interlopers instantly.
This reminds me of my favorite lake back home in Bavaria, Königsee....viewing the Austrian alps reflections in the still lake in the distance ....now Im homesick...thank you or sharing this magical location and one I wouldn’t have to get on a plane to see...long road trip....
Adam’s fly fishing dance was highly instructional. And hilarious.
These videos are great. As I've said before, you and Adam are gold. Adding Amanda and Collin make it even better. Fun to watch... all the way through.
Amanda just rowing away was hilarious.
You and Adam are making this world a better place with your videos. No doubt about that. 😃. Thanks again for another entertaining vlog, Gavin. Amanda is such a fun lady and Colin has definitely earned to get more screen time!
Another great video! Banter is fun! 🤣 Vancouver Island seems like a paradise. Techno tech tech Grump Grump Grump should become a recurring feature.
Love the last image of the curved log and the gorgeous atmosphere from the mist, really beautiful ✨✨✨
Thank you Gavin and Amanda gave me and my wife a good laugh! And the words of wisdom to bud, never give up hope you and Amanda are doing well!
JUST THE ABSOLUTE BEST PHOTOGRAPHY CONTENT OUT ON THE UA-camS - HANDS DOWN!!! cracks me up EVERYTIME!!!
Ahhh this was worth the wait !! Techno Adam might just catch on :-) great to see you had to take the shot .. it would have been rude not to :-) another banger episode in the bag
Loved these episodes from the lake. Cannot watch whilst drinking tea as your facial expressions make me spit it out. Keep up the great work Gavin
Then my work here is done ;)

🤣Amanda is making her own fun with that broken down tree..lol.
Great cheat shot Gavin 👌 😉😆.
Again most enjoyable vid!! Until next time.
Thanks for the video Man! ‘Twisty and gnarly” with the finger swirl for effect was well done. 😉
Half way through and we got a glimpse of "Brokeback mountain 2"
You can really tell a Master Moron Photoshopped those mountains. Well done, sir!

Great fun and great inspiration. Thanks!

hehehe I'm still chucking too...
Nice video Fotostripper 😁

it totally was.

OMG! Not only educationally fun as always, but a lesson on captaining a log boat too. You rock Amanda! Now, where can I find a similar boat? Hmm.
Brilliant as always. 👍👍 the outtakes crack me up every time lol
Lessons learned with laughter - brilliant!!!!
Thanks to you, I've been using the Wave of Hatred to good use this summer.
With extreme prejudice?

This was again a super nice video, I like when you’re on a trip with others it always so funny.

Love these videos… Gavin is hilarious and Adam provides some valuable photo tips.
Gotcha!
So happy to discover this channel. It's like Ronnie Barker became a UA-cam photographer 😉
Excellent video! Really funny & love the photography too. 👍🏻
Not only are you (and Amanda) hilarious but so informative. THANKS!!!! I'm learning a ton from you.
Great video, enjoyed it .you were mentioned on a Australian you tube Friday
Does that mean I have to go into lockdown now?
@@fototripper yep, 6 weeks you and Clarence alone in a log cabin down Mexico way
Ive often wondered what my 10-20 would look like on my ff A99Ii. Thanks for the tip. I will give it a go.

Great location and great images
It was me.
Love all your videos. Not sure that I need a ACR lesson there are plenty of people giving these lessons but not so many taking fantastiqua landscapes!
Amanda was hillarious. Tresmendous photos Gavin 👍
These get better and better. Grumpton is totally down with the kids, but I do worry for Amanda's sanity.
Love your videos. Whenever I watch the theme song from Benny Hill plays in my head for some reason. Thanks.
Spent 6 hours last night doing spot removal before I realised that the spot was on my monitor
Wow what a beautiful lake and location!!! You Canadians have the beautiful spots, that's for sure. ~Flatland Texan. [did that (x)brit just say who gives a S*** about tea?!?]
