Personally I thought the abstract was the best image and definitely not half an image. You know it was a good image. The only problem with minimal abstracts is some people struggle with pictures that aren't pictures of "things". Well that's their problem really. Good work.
you can take a photo of what ever you'd like some of my favorite moments are just watching you walk by these amazing beautiful views that i know i would have never been able to see if it hadn't been for you! not ever photo you share has to be perfect because all your art moves people
3 great pictures Can't stop rewinding and looking at the water. Fantastic - esp with the pockets of texture, colour AND the cloud reflection's on the water. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Only a real "observer" would have noticed. Top job 👍🏽
I really like the image of the water patterns. Without context I could conceivably believe that it was some ethereal sky with some of the patches looking like soft clouds.
your videos always inspire me to just go. doesn't matter where. doesn't matter why. Just that, going somewhere new (yes, with my camera), is enough adventure, in and of itself.
I allmost never go for a walk without a camera. Very much enjoyed this video and exactly what I needed in this rainy weather here in Switzerland. Need warm and golden sunlight.
This is where i came in. I found your videos a few years ago and this was the type of thing that you were doing then, lovely to see you still enjoying this sort of thing. thank you for sharing your many trips with us. All the best. John
You are an incredible one man band. You shoot high end multi-angle video including drone and B-roll. Plus capture fantastic images all the while providing an engaging narrative. Your editing must take hours. While watching your adventures you forget that it is just you doing it all. The quality that you produce typically would require a team.
Just imagine scrambling up that gulley...only to have to scramble back down to retrieve said camera...and then scramble back up again. Dedication right there : )
Great to see you relaxed and enjoying yourself. The worst day in the hills beats the best day in a office. I to liked the abstract lake shot. Well done and look forward to more hiking videos.
I must say you keep inspiring me. This Vlog speaks to me I always hike with my camera and it does gives me a purpose and I feel soo empowered with my camera in my hand.
I really liked both images, the water one was so dreamy. Spending the night on top of a fell that's where it's at. Any images you snap are just a bonus
The video is great as always. I followed this channel 3~4 years ago, and almost everything I knew about landscape photography were started from your content. I loved your works so much even bought a calendar on 2019. However, the style of your photographs changed in this one to two years. I know it may be explained as some kind of improvement of you, but unfortunately I can’t keep on this anymore. It’s sad, and I wish I will understand this kind of change very soon. Thanks Thomas, for all the way you led me into the world of landscape photography, I still watch your video, and enjoy it as well.
I love that you have gone back to your roots so to speak, it was you who inspired me the most with my landscape photography and funnily enough got me into wild camping. I mix the two myself and really enjoy getting out to the lakes when I can.
A SUPERB B/W IMAGE AT 3:15!!! And I'm beginning to fall for the square format. It seems to force the brain to subconsciously engage it's imaginative powers, sort of when you look at the moon in the day time - you instinctively picture its shaded part, though your eyes may be playing a trick on your mind
Incredible footage again Thomas with the b-roll, especially with all the gear you were carrying. Loved the first image, the contrast in mono was fabulous.
Watching your videos is always a vicarious adrenaline rush. Great to see you shooting handheld as well. The first image was my favourite. As they say, all you need is one.
You are so fortunate in being a guy who can go just about anywhere by yourself at early morning or night hours & not worry about being attacked,we women aren’t that fortunate,I am so jealous!
Enjoyed your video very much this morning. I can identify with just having a camera in hand. I went to The Pond just before sunrise this morning to photograph birds but the lighting was so beautiful that I spent more time sitting and watching than I did photographing. I did get a shot of a great blue heron that pleased me very much so I'm happy. :)
I can completely relate to your opening dialog about photography opening the door to outdoors activities. I’m getting into backpacking solely because I had the thought that I’d like to photograph X at Y time of day...which would require me to camp overnight.
Wow! I give it to you man!, climbing those big mountain it is so awesome and then take those kind of stills. That is tremendous my friend.👍👍👍👍 thank you so much for sharing this video.
I find your last couple of vlogs very inspiring again! Good to see you out and about, enjoying yourself, despite the "summer time blues" ;-). And oh, super appreciate that classic soundtrack. Brings back memories!
THAT INTRO WAS SOOOO GOOD. I WATCHED IT OVER AGAIN BEFORE WATCHING THE WHOLE THING. Just appreciate the efforts you put into these vids, I've been here since you were talking about getting a Delica and TBH I've thoroughly loved every single vid since!!!!
A few decades ago, I left my knee on a tree on a black diamond (!) ski trail in northeastern USA. If you find it, there' s reward- it has my initials on it ;). Odd thing is, I can climb UP, but not down without a lot of crying. Maybe that's a good thing? Anyway, I vote for the dreamy lake! Cheers!
@@robertnystrom289 I left my shattered right patella in the surgeon's kidney dish at the Royal Surrey County Hospital in Guildford, forty-six years ago ;-)
Been enjoying your content and along with one or two others is encouraging me to get the camera out and even set up a new channel for photography. Nice to see you camping again
I liked the abstract image best though I understand about not being sure if I really like a picture until I've had some time to look at it for a few days, maybe longer.
When I go out take photographs, I often take two types of images. I don't do it on purpose, it is the way it is. One are documentary type images and the other are creative images. I see you do it kind of similar in this video. I really like the last one, the abstract on the water.
You really go the extra mile with your b roll while climbing up the mountain. Excellent work with that and I enjoyed the images, including the abstract.
A rather crappy day, eh Mr T? But that's what I like about your videos.... you're keeping it real..... good, bad, awesome. Oh, and the tent sleeping bag wedgies... yuck. Like you, photography is what gets me out and about these days.... it's still the major fun thing to do and fortunately it gets me out of the quarantine canteen (apartment). Hike on Thomas!
That feeling of being in your tent in the morning drinking your coffee in such splendour... can't beat it! I really enjoy the camping element of your videos. And I thought the abstract image was great - it would make a good album cover... perhaps you could sell it to a musician or band?
Bring all old music back! This and last a few videos really bring back the memory of last year when I rewatched your old videos again and again during the lockdown... great job!
Thomas I really enjoyed this video, getting out camping like you portray is not a possibility for myself. However, it’s good to see someone still doing it.
The image towards the beginning with the light on the fells was the winner for me. A lovely image and really reminds me of being in the hills of Cumbria. Lovely video Thomas. Hope you got down OK. Stay safe.
You’ve struck a rich vein with you latest videos Tom and this was no exception…relaxed, entertaining and great images as ever. The abstract water patterns is great…needs to be 4 foot square on my living room wall 😁.
"So if you want my address it's number one at the end of the bar Where I sit with the broken angels clutching at straws and nursing our scars"... Marillion. Sugar Mice. Another great video Thomas!
Such stunning scenery. Since taking up photography it definitely has inspired me to get out more as well, particularly in bad weather when I used to sit around inside. That looked like a killer climb...well worth the views!
This was neat. Your B roll is amazing, maybe your best ever. I appreciate that intro section with the ladder-like climbing up you showed us, and then you went down and then back up again! What a trip.
My dream is to visit Lake District , such a beautiful area😍 So much space, skies and without people. This is an area that is charming in every sense. Absolutely loved the whole video and all photos. Every photography is individually amazing❤😘 Thank you.
I really like that you never go overboard with the editing and color correction. Very respectful to the landscapes you capture. Cheers
Personally I thought the abstract was the best image and definitely not half an image. You know it was a good image. The only problem with minimal abstracts is some people struggle with pictures that aren't pictures of "things". Well that's their problem really. Good work.
Thanks a lot. I like it too, but at the time, it's so hard to judge. These images need. Bit of time 👍

After last video, you really made a good point.
your videos always inspire me to just go. doesn't matter where. doesn't matter why. Just that, going somewhere new (yes, with my camera), is enough adventure, in and of itself.
Couldn't agree more 👍👍👍
Loving your latest videos which are back to the reasons why I first started watching your work years ago. Welcome back!
I allmost never go for a walk without a camera.

This location is so very beautiful, glad you returned, Thanks Thomas. The light is stunning, Thank You so much for inspiring us to do better.
These videos are so great, man. I've been watching your channel for a few years now and always enjoy your content.
Great to see you relaxed and enjoying yourself. The worst day in the hills beats the best day in a office. I to liked the abstract lake shot. Well done and look forward to more hiking videos.
I love the choice of music in this video. Perfect match with the subject and mood.
Hey Tom good to see you looking so relaxed and just rolling with it and letting us come along :)
I must say you keep inspiring me. This Vlog speaks to me I always hike with my camera and it does gives me a purpose and I feel soo empowered with my camera in my hand.

Thanks a lot. I liked the BW conversion too 👍

Another very enjoyable video Tom. I love the drone shot on the summit. Good job the wind was absent.

Really love the entire experience…photos, cooking, camping, etc!
Thank you Thomas, you are a unique inspirer who keeps me attached to photography!
With _my_ knees, this is a great way to enjoy the elevated regions of the Lake District once again. Thanks Tom :)
Cheers!

I love landscape photography and it's sad we have to get old to truly understand what's in front of us!!! Awesome video!!
Gorgeous location and very photogenic. With my acrophobia I will leave that climb and photographing on ledges to you. I will live this through you.
Been enjoying your content and along with one or two others is encouraging me to get the camera out and even set up a new channel for photography. Nice to see you camping again
That looked like a nice hike. Very good use of the 1:1 format, and loved the black-and-white photo.
Lovely light on the landscape prior to sunset 👍
I liked the abstract image best though I understand about not being sure if I really like a picture until I've had some time to look at it for a few days, maybe longer.
Great vlog. I also like the soundtrack you used (e.g. ~5:35 mark); to me, it is part of your signature. Thank you

Each and every picture is enriched with your beautiful story and astonishing composition .
Love that first image. The detail is incredible 👍🏻 excellent feel good video well done 👍🏻
Thanks for another lovely video. And I like the abstract image of the water a lot by the way!
"Having a camera in my hand was a reason enough." I fully agree. For me owning a camera has genuinely been one of the best things I have ever done.
Bring all old music back! This and last a few videos really bring back the memory of last year when I rewatched your old videos again and again during the lockdown... great job!
Love that shot of the water. Looks like clouds.
Lovely video, beautiful shots . It’s always better than none and even if none, you had a great camping experience
You’re my best friend on UA-cam. It feels like I’m on a journey with you. Thank you for doing this.
Thomas I really enjoyed this video, getting out camping like you portray is not a possibility for myself. However, it’s good to see someone still doing it.
Love Wastwater, keeps calling me!
That wooden cup looks pretty awesome and lightweight for hiking trips!
Happy New Year! * I really like the German dark beers. And, a local brewery makes a very good oatmeal beer.
LOVE the water pattern image!
Thanks Thomas, a nice escape from my lock down desk here in Sydney.
The image towards the beginning with the light on the fells was the winner for me. A lovely image and really reminds me of being in the hills of Cumbria. Lovely video Thomas. Hope you got down OK. Stay safe.
This was a great video Thomas. Well explained and beautiful location. Captured some beautiful images. Inspiring. Thank you for sharing!
You’ve struck a rich vein with you latest videos Tom and this was no exception…relaxed, entertaining and great images as ever. The abstract water patterns is great…needs to be 4 foot square on my living room wall 😁.
I love that abstract image!
Your Red Screes square format with the XT3 is one of your very best shots in my honest opinion Tom. Wonderful
Loved your abstract photo. Thanks for all the videos.
i really like the water shot Tom, really nice👍 what a view to wake up to!
Holy cow, that drone footage!
It’s always so relaxing watching your vids. 3.2k likes. Good for you Thomas.
Very nice video and nice pictures taken. I like the mood you create.
But the stuff you eat and drink... man, that is frightening.
Photography is the best excuse to get outside. Speaking of which… how do you manage toilet duties when solo camping in the hills?
Love the message behind the video!
Now these are the videos of yours I like to see!
Nice to hear one of the older pieces of music Thomas used to use get an outing again these last few vids. Always kinda like it.
Incredibly nice it was there !! Fantastic scenery! Wishing you a wonderful summer. Greetings from Norway!!
Apparently you don’t suffer from a fear of heights. The exposure on that first peak would have spooked me. Well done as usual.
Hi! I'm just having a Tomathan (way behind on your videos - ah. the joys of grad school and a day job). Lovely as always. ❤️
"So if you want my address it's number one at the end of the bar
Where I sit with the broken angels clutching at straws and nursing our scars"... Marillion. Sugar Mice.
Another great video Thomas!
Agua con gas y un palley alley, por favor. 😂🤣😂 I miss it.
just came across this channel for the first time, I love your content!
Thomas smile and enjoy matey. You keep me hooked and my normal channel for grounding after lashings of Gavin H and his s tickets..
Such stunning scenery. Since taking up photography it definitely has inspired me to get out more as well, particularly in bad weather when I used to sit around inside. That looked like a killer climb...well worth the views!
Nice one Thomas. Not just me that waits until dark before thinking about pitching the tent. Good video mate.
That abstract shot worked well, I enjoyed your simple but entertaining camping outing Cheers
"Having a camera in my hand is reason enough."
I've never been more inspired to get the dusty camera out than this. Thanks, Thomas.
This was neat. Your B roll is amazing, maybe your best ever. I appreciate that intro section with the ladder-like climbing up you showed us, and then you went down and then back up again! What a trip.
The last image was the best!
Hill walking, harp rift Heaton has returned!
Oh, those '
AB Outdoors and Camping' vibes as soon as you took IPA out =) Nice video! I wish that format will settle on this channel. Cheers!
Thomas, the abstract image was a winner!
I wasn't paying attention when he described the water, then saw the pic.
I liked the 1st b&w image
I really like what you do with your channel. Beautiful footage. Keep on going! Greetings from Belgium.
love the abstract! Great balance throughout.
Thank you Thomas. Love your videos.
My dream is to visit Lake District , such a beautiful area😍 So much space, skies and without people. This is an area that is charming in every sense. Absolutely loved the whole video and all photos. Every photography is individually amazing❤😘 Thank you.
Awesome pictures, really I love it so much bro and your great video too
I liked the abstract of the lake’s surface.
The morning image is great!
Your videos are next level these days always changing it up keeping things fresh and always inspiring. Thanks for the efforts buddy 👍
