A question I get asked regularly regarding this tent and set-up is where can I get the carpet. The carpet is for the Eurohike Genus 400 Air Tent, however, it is no longer available. Bearing in mind, that I made this video back in 2021, this tent is still a current model at the time of posting this comment.
Hi, glad you found the video informative. The highest winds I have been out in with this tent were 25-30 miles an hour gusts with lashing rain. Obviously, the tent bent to the side but had no issues. With high-pressure 7psi tubes, I think a poled tent would collapse before an air tent.
Thanks for the video! Just bought this tent and off to Cardigan camping with my wife and son tomorrow. Really looking forward to it, and very nice seeing how easy it is to pitch it.
Greetings from across the pond. I am an older fella, I still think in yards, feet, and inches although before I retired my work demands metric. Glad you enjoyed the video, and thanks for your comment 👍
Hi Dave, thanks, glad you enjoyed it. That site is the National Trust site at Coniston. I use this tent as a base camp, I pitch up for several days and then go for a couple of overnight wild camps. As you can imagine, it is a palace for one person, comfortable for two, OK for two adults and a couple of kids. The only downsides are, there is no fly screen on the side entrance, and due to the angle of the front door, if it rains you need to zip the door up. A workaround for that is to have a 3M x 3M tarp over the main door extending out. All in all, for the price, a very good tent. Here is the link to my first impression video. ua-cam.com/video/1TlOhfeKURw/v-deo.html Happy camping, Dave W.

Hi Mark, thanks for subbing mate, and also the kind comment 👍. Yes, very good quality tents at a very reasonable price. I have the Eurohike Avon 3, the Ribble 3, and the Air 400. I l also own two backpacking tents, namely the OEX Phoxx IIv2, and the Vango Assynt 200. Personally, I would stand the Eurohike tents right alongside Vango which are far more expensive. ATB, Dave 👍
Great review thanks. I have bought the Eurohike Air 600 which is exactly the same as the 400, just slightly bigger, and wife and me used it for first time in last couple days in very hot weather. It’s a brilliant tent, we really enjoyed the experience as hitherto non campers. We found the tent very roomy and comfortable. Using the front door as a canopy with king poles, as you mentioned, really expands the tent and gives it an extra dimension, so I would recommend that The red guy ropes, we noticed, become invisible after dusk, so a good tip I think will be to ideally replace these with fluorescent yellow. After one night of our tent pitched, in very hot weather, one of our air beams exploded,. I had inflated it to 7psi, so my tip would be to go to the 4.5psi as recommended. Happily, the retailer, Go Outdoors replaced the tent without question. I recommend them too. Thanks again for a great video
Yes, the Air 600 is the same length and height, but 35 cm wider. WOW, 7psi, that was a bit ambitious as that is the maximum pressure and air expands in the heat. Glad Go Outdoors exchanged the tent for you. Happy camping ATB, Dave 👍
Hi David, thanks for taking the trouble to reply. Yes, with hindsight, 7psi turned out to be too much in the hot weather. The instructions advise an inflation pressure range is of 4 to 7 psi, which is reflected in the accordingly green marked off section, showing the “safe” range, in the pump gauge. As a camping newbie, I had assumed that, for a recommended pressure range of up to 7 psi, the air beams would have been designed to accommodate a higher pressure as a factor of safety to cope with pressure increase due to temperature. I won’t make the same mistake again, and I’m looking forward to camping again in the Eurohike Air 600 soon. The Go Outdoors manager mentioned they had heard of several instances of the air beams bursting in hot weather, so hopefully Eurohike will make their instructions clearer in this regard.
Hi Philip, thanks for commenting. It will have to be next spring now unfortunately, although I will be wild camping in my backpacking tent throughout the winter 😉 ATB, Dave 👍

The carpet is the Eurohike Genus 400 or Airgo Genus 400, these are both the size and shape of tents. I purchased mine from Black's however I did a quick Google search, and they seem to be out of stock at the moment, x
My tent is the same as yours: a Eurohike Rydal Air 400 and its weighs 13kg. Thanks. 🙋
👍 great
Thank you 👍.
Hi.. you mention “king poles” to make the front door into a porch, which ones would you recommend? As i cant find any for Eurohike.
From memory, I bought a set of 2-metre king poles on Amazon.
@@DavidWilsonOutandAbout Great thanks 👍
Thanks for this video! Great help as I shall be solo camping with mine at the weekend! I’m not sure how to deflate the tent???? There is another valve that has come with the pump. Do I use that one? Thanks
Hi Ann, inflation, and deflation are explained at 5.37 in this video, also the bayonet type fitting required to inflate is also shown.
ATB, Dave.
@@DavidWilsonOutandAbout Thanks Dave, much appreciated! I’ll rewatch! 😁
The pump is not used to deflate the tubes, it is just done by pushing in the inner valve, which is spring-loaded.
Happy camping 👍
Hi David , I'd like to say thanks for the review on this tent 👍
But may i ask for a couple of Link's
1st being on where you got your carpet.
2nd being your 12v pump.
Any help with these would be brilliant.
Iv not bought the tent as of yet but want to no i can get everything b4 paying out. Regards Trev
Plus just out of intrest next time your out camping maybe you can put your Tarp ove the front just to see your method of fitting this would be very useful 👍
Hi Trevor, it seems that the Eurohike Genus 400 carpet is not available anymore. The pump is available via the Decathlon store or online via the link below.

Ideal for me when I want a couple of days peace and quiet when I retire next year.
May I ask the name of the campsite, or nearest town?. . Or are you keeping it to yourself. . lol

What is the pump name model please that you used?
The pump used in this video was the Itiwit 12 V/15 A electric pump.

However, I have since replaced this pump with an AIRBANK 20PSI Electric (D6) Paddle Board SUP Pump.

Where is your campsite I like it I live in Newcastle upon Tyne
Hoathwaite National Trust Campsite.
Have you got a link for the carpet please … can’t seem to find it online? Thank you 😀
I bought it from Blacks, however, it seems that it is not available anymore
@@DavidWilsonOutandAbout thanks David. Had a look everywhere to no avail, so picked up the Eurohike large for £40 on ebay. Shame as it means folding the carpet over … so I’ll have to get the scissors and sewing machine out. Well … I won’t, the mother-in-law will lol! Cheers again.
@@neli5p Yes, I think the tent and that carpet have been discontinued, shame though. That's the ticket, get it altered to suit. 👍
Can't for the life of me pack it away and get it back in the bag!! Any advice?!
Hi Sam,
I have never had an issue packing the tent back in its bag, the bag is over-generous, as in I pack the carpets and footprint in it as well. Sorry I can not be of more help 🏕
Did you work it out? I just bought one and it's hell to do on your own! Any tips?
Good video where can you buy these please
Hi Ann,
The Eurohike Air 400 is available via either Millets, Blacks, or Go Outdoors. www.millets.co.uk/15942905/eurohike-air-400-inflatable-tent-15942905/?Google&Shopping&gclid=CjwKCAjwp_GJBhBmEiwALWBQk_ahJxr-4eJ8sGMbH5M4Aeb8feA2e9y9EaBDt0qD8butMZdIT6gSORoCCgsQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
How do you connect the hose to the tent mine won’t inflate
5.55 in the video!
Is the tent floor all sealed or is it a removable sheet
Built in
would this be big enough for 1 adult and 2 small kids
Hi Chris, certainly big enough for one adult and a couple of children.
I’ve just bought this tent and plan to put it up on my own. This video has been a Godsend. Can you advise where to get a 12v inflator with the relevant fitting? What do I need to search for?
Hi Mel,
Glad you found the video informative.
Most 12v pumps that can inflate to higher pressures (0 to 15 psi) come with the relevant bayonet connector for the Halkey Roberts type valves that are on this tent. I use the Decathlon High-Pressure Electric Pump, which has served me well for this tent, air beds, and my inflatable kayaks for over 3 years. It can be purchased via either of the links below.

Does the side door zip up fully?
I am not sure what you mean by zip-up fully?., do you mean open up to allow full access, or closed fully!. In the video, it shows the door zipped closed and fully open.
Hey, cool looking tent, how does this tent & the air 600 compare to the berghaus air 4 & 6?
Hi there,
The Air 600 is the same tent other than it is 30 cm wider. I cannot comment on the comparison with the Berghaus tents, as I do not own them.
@@DavidWilsonOutandAbout ok, thanks for the reply mate, appreciated
what's the internal height inside, can yiu stand fully up
As stated in the video, it is 195cm (6'6") tall at the highest point which is the living area.
Good video sounds like you did a load of work being out of breath lol however the video is direct 5☆
Hi John,
It was very hot, I had been on the road for 9 hours, and I was recovering from a chest infection. Glad you enjoyed the video.
@@DavidWilsonOutandAbout no worries mate hope you are well pal it was a enjoyable watch 👍
Hi David, can you let me know where you got the carpet from? I can’t find one anywhere. I can only find the rectangular Eurohike carpets. Thanks.
Hi Richard,
I bought it from Blacks, but that was 18 months ago. The carpet is for the Airgo Genus 400, but it seems to have been out of stock for the past year everywhere!.
All the best,
Dave.
@@DavidWilsonOutandAbout Thanks David, I’ve ordered the small Eurohike carpet for it. I know it won’t go right to the edges, but it’ll be fine for what I need.
