Amazing woman. Now this is a woman who is bringing something useful in Gambia. Also, she is fairly paying her staff instead of taking advantage of them.
Jamaicans love Africa and Africans, the rastafarians, Marcus Garvey and other preach and sing about going back to Africa fr I was a small child I been hearing them talking and singing
Finally someone that doesn't need to go on holiday anywhere else but the beautiful nations of AFRICA. I can't wait to do the same. I love my people and wish I was woke sooner. It's God's plan though so no regrets.❤🥰
Yes,my friend. Was booming in his business and they raised the rent on him he had to give up the business place and go back to Jamaica and start all over again.they know, who we, are 12 tribe of Judah .we, will rise one day.shalom
Educating? She don't think there's warfare in Africa and villages needing water? There her about Sudan, Central African Republic, Ethiopia, Congo, Uganda... I can tag her in many videos of Black Americans paying for water holes in Gambia and Kenya for villages.
My sister said her parents came to a country that they did not know, but she came to a country that she knew because she visited first. Sometimes we get push back from friends and parents about moving to Africa, but they did the same thing when they left the Caribbean for America and England. The difference is, today we have the internet so we can at least get an idea of where were moving to and we can visit before making the move. I will be moving to Ghana very soon once my preparations are complete, I've visited three times already, but my mind was made up after the first visit. Also, what she said about England at the start of the video is very true...folks, even if you don't want to move to the continent, why not invest in what is possibly the final frontier for people of color?
Some African Americans feel the same way as the Black British, like we don’t belong here even though we’re born in America and the UK. Africa is home to all of us wooly haired melinated people.
You know what's curious is how in America some whites say, " Go back where you come from ". Many don't want us here. They don't want us in their spaces. They look at us as if to say, what are 'you' doing here. It really hurts. At the same time, the 'powers that be' don't seem to want us to leave, especially don't go to Africa! So they tolerate us. Of course, I'm speaking in general terms. All whites are not bad. I am looking forward to visiting Africa...desiring to see Rwanda!
Mama Malaika, i salute your courage and efforts 👌🏾 💪🏿. I like your passion for our beloved motherland. You are most welcome. I also like the tribute that you have paid to Marcus Garvey by naming the restaurant after him.🎉🎉🎉
I too am a second generation immigrant and my mothers mother was asked to come work in England from Dominica 🇩🇲. My mum came here when she was 12 approximately, and has never been home since. Says there is nothing to go back for. Like this lovely sister, I grew up and lived in Brixton most of my life. The way Brixton has been gentrified is crazy. We built this country up and they use us and toss us away like an old tissue when they don’t need us no more. Im coming home. Hopefully at the end of the year ❤🎉
Wow, people are really different. Did you ever have a deep conversation as to why she chose not to visit again. Was most of her family in the UK, Zero attachment to the place at all. I am on my way to relocate home and whenever I do it always feels so peaceful. As much as i value diversity, it seems to me most not all black people are always at the back of the bus when so many races are put in one place. You may be economically well off but even the lowest of the other races somehow feel they are better than black folks. Happy for you and hope Africa is all that you imagine. If your mind is open you will enjoy it and there is nothing like knowing everyone in positions of power look like you. Yes, the continent has challenges but when you mature you realize home is best.
@@nakho3550 That’s your opinion. It is still her homeland. Funny thing is the natives always have a way to ask you where you are from if you have an accent or if your name sounds different. Hey, we all have or make choices that we have to live with.
I loved this interview. I am a African American, who left and repatriated to Tanzania. This is a beautiful, kind and honest woman. Great Job to our sister.
The entire system is set up to have you live on the verge of homelessness on a monthly basis and keeps you from accumulating money so you can move forward. In the US if you are paid 8 dollars an hour your rent in those areas with be 700.00 dollars per month and more with each year increased by 50 to 100 dollars. If you live in an area where the salaries are at average 20 dollars an hour then the rent is 1,700 per month. The math does not work out with what is realistic. This method makes people live in marginal debt with no savings that would sustain you for 6 months so it is easy to become homeless and always living on the edge. People should learn how to live together!!
Wonderful interview. May those making these moves make a success of their transition. Relocation is not easy and success is not guranteed but with the right attitude and mindset you do stand a better chance to succeed anywhere in the world💯

What an amazing interview. A well rounded grounded and inspiring woman! Thank you so much, I’ve been looking to leave England and find a place I can really call home!
This is very true. What is really interesting is after studying British History for several years I realise that the British establishment has been "spinning" for centuries. My parents generation had a real shock when they came to England and saw how poor the white working class people were spiritually and materially.... many Caribbean were better off in the islands! However, we are where we are and Britain now has a sizable Non European presence in the island. Karma.

JOOO as a African Amerikkkan 45 years "BACK TO AFRICA" in NIGERIA, I live on Marcus Garvey Way! Marcus Garvey inspired me to come to Africa 🌍 just like he inspired THIS Sister!
What an amazing interview. A well rounded grounded and inspiring woman! Thank you so much, I’ve been looking to leave England and find a place I can really call home!
Africa has its challenges (like everywhere) but i do miss it terribly.
This is a very positive story, which I hope that millions of others will follow.
Well done Madam blessings
My father said he earned more in Jamaica than he did when he arrived to bitter England. But after having children it was hard to return.
Karma.
Sure he did...
I’m definitely going to check out The Gambia 🇬🇲
