Thank you 💕 It looks even better in real life, it was difficult to film the light because it doesn't show the lines of the creased resin inside. That makes for a very interesting effect.
This is one of your designs that would also look really good layered. I like that you coated the gems really did add a lot of dimension. I really looks like lava.
Very AWESOME & BEAUTIFUL. I believe you forgot to mention--Wait four hours before moving the flat resin piece to the round vase. Other than that I'm a fan for life.
I tried this this for the first time yesterday! I got one layer curing nicely! But my first layer i poured too thin. I also used plastic wrap to seperate the layers. The thin layer split when i was manipulating it, and the plastic wrap didnt come off. I used the grocery bag to seperate the two shells and it came off easy!!! Ill post a pic of my finished product! I watch your videos everyday hahaha. Thanks again!
It depends on a number of factors. It could be anything from 3-6 hours, depending on the time of year and thickness of resin and whether you want drips or not. You have to check on it every hour until it is ready to move. 💕
I’m a complete beginner using resin, only made some earrings so far. This video has inspired me to have a go at making a bowl like this. I don’t have India ink but do have Spectrum Noir inks, is there much difference ? Do India inks have a different consistency to other inks ? Might just try it and see. Many thanks for taking the time to make these videos, I am learning so much from them. 😂👍👏 xx
You can use any ink. Just add one drop at a time until you have the right colour density. Just remember to use less than 10% in your resin to avoid issues with curing. 💕 Good luck!
@@SueFindlay Hello Sue, aafter looking at this masterpiece I tried to make it but with light blue, cobalt blue and black colour, just one question, approximately how much time we have to wait for resin to set, so that it should not fall while giving the shape? Need your guidance here. Thanks alot
Hi Sue, thanks for sharing your talents! Can you tell me the exact hours between when you pour and put it on your vase and when you take off the wrap? I did one with Cellophane Wrap and it just stuck to the resin. I could not separate them.
I leave all of my resin sculptures to cure overnight and never have any issues with removing the cellophane or plastic. Not all resins are created equally, so you have to experiment with your own brand of resin. Mix up a small batch and pour it on to a variety of plastics and see which holds up the best for you. Sorry, I can't be more specific.
Hi sue, I re created this, it was fun and I love it. but I had a mess. my cling wrap was covered in resin and my red and orange resin started melting down the side of the lava on one side. I don't know how you keep everything so clean. You are a true artist and clean too. I love my bowl and hope to make another. but I can't make too many the resin is so expensive. Thank you for a wonderful project
@@SueFindlay I agree, I'm going to try again, I have several color combos I would like to try. I was hoping to send a picture so you can see how it turned out but I haven't figured out how I can do that yet. But I love it even if its a bit wonky. Thank you for all your inspiration.

In the dental clinics where we make temporary crowns out of acrylic resin...we grease things with a thin coat of gasoline. Very thin coat....dip your finger in the grease and rub on.
It depends on the time of year. In summer it cures much quicker, so you need to keep an eye on it. I recommend after the first 3 hours, keep checking on it every hour, until it is no longer sticky. 💕

Could this mold be filled with candle wax and used? Or will the heat from the candle mess it up?
I wouldn't recommend using it as a candle or placing candles inside. I used an LED light to light it up, but that is far as I would go.

Could you put some kind of lotion between the cling wrap and the resin?
I don’t think it would be a good idea, lotion may react with the resin and you could get unpredictable results.
