I think our best art comes from attempting to perfect our craft to our own ideal. Along the years, I’ve learned to embrace & be proud of it all & to trash the feeling of something I deem as “worthy”. One man’s trash is another man’s most loved & appreciated treasure. Don’t sell yourself short 💕
Thus is absolutely breathtaking. For those of us who adore being by the ocean, even when we can't, what a treasure to have this as a reminder. Beautiful work!🐟🐚🐠
Beautifully done! You see imperfection. That is part of what makes you an artist. We see a wave. THAT is definitely what makes you an artist! Thank you for sharing your gift! Blessings.
I did my first wave and it was a disaster! LOL My wrap did stick but that was the least of my problems. watching this video again and will try again tomorrow! I am inspired because you said your first one was not so good either. Thank you so much- you are such an inspiration!
It is all about experimenting. Some resin brands do stick to plastic, so you need to do some testing to see what works for you. Good luck for next time 💕
What works a lot better than cellophane is clear heavy duty vinyl. Like the kind that you use to cover furniture to protect it and get from the fabric store. A couple mil. thick. The resin will keep right off then & it's reusable.
Amazing wave come crashing in to my laptop so beautiful to create such thing in your own home ....now to but some sound waves to it even more creative....very nice!!! ;)
Just came across this video. Wow! You are an incredible artist! It is so beautiful!! I can't even imagine being able to make anything even close to this. Wish I could make it to your show, but Texas is a ways to Perth. 😀 Thank you for sharing! Have a great show.
@@SueFindlay I have one question. I know that depends on how big you want it, but how much resin did you use to make the wave? Decided I wanted to try it but I’m really new to resin and have no idea on how much resin to use.
Hi Sue, This is absolutely stunning! I'm going to have a go at making this, this weekend. I live by the sea in beautiful Cornwall, UK. Best wishes. Vanessa X Ps. I am addicted to your art work and ideas!!
Your works are so inspirational and you're so generous with information I shouldn't have watched other videos to learn. I think you are going to make my dream of making a resin beach scene come true. I am so grateful to you. One little question, how thick was your wave at the end?
I absolutely love this the only thing I can say is I think it would look even better if the wave was higher before dropping down I find plastic pipes used in plumbing come in all sorts of widths would work very well for this..... but still stunning
Wish wish wish I’d taken your advice to check whether the cellophane stuck first I was so eager to get started and I’ve all but ruined it I’m trying to see what I can do now before I trash it 😫
Oh no, have you tried applying heat to help remove it? If that still doesn't work, is it noticeable if you trim the cellophane back to the resin? If so, then before throwing it away, apply another layer of resin over the cellophane, seeing as resin sticks to it. No-one will even notice :-)
Sue Findlay I know you’re on different time zone so I actually did this yesterday! And to be honest if I didn’t need to fix it it wouldn’t have turned out as good as it has! I also encountered cracking as I left it too long too roll but those cracks have now become extra waves so I’m chuffed!! I’ll be posting on IG and on your FB group to remind others to heed your advice unlike me! 😂❤️
I was injured 5 years ago working as a medic. Had an overdose patient assault our crew shattering my ankle. 13 surgeries later I am still unable to walk w/out a peg leg. So I am trying to make a new start selling my artwork and looking for more inspiration... and your video randomly fell on my list and I fell in love! Thanx
Wondering what kind of cellophane you use? It looks thick. Can I buy from amazon please let me know. Thx. Also what is the widest cellophane because I want my wave quite wide how would I go about that?
I used cellophane from a florist. I don't know if the cellophane on Amazon is precisely the same. Some people said their resin stuck to it. I also don't know how wide it comes in. I would, however, recommend getting a clear plastic shower curtain. The plastic is thick, and the resin comes to clean off. Plus, you can cut to any size. Perfect for your project.
@@SueFindlay Sorry I thought because of your accent you from the other Perth. Thats whats good about Australia ,you never know where someone is from. Looking forward to your next vid. Cheers.
I forgot to say Sue, I can't see where the links are on your videos for where to buy the supplies from. Am I being completely blonde and can't see for looking?! 🤔
I live this. Have you thought of using styrofoam pool noodles? The come in different circumferences and are very strudy. Try or you might like them, just cut to desired length.❤
Hola gracias por compartir con nosotros lo que tú sabes me encanta las toma que no se tú idioma y no entiendo PERO ME ENCANTA quisiera saber si puedes hacer en español que sigas adelante
The times will vary at different times of the year and from resin brand to resin brand. I generally check on it every hour or so and wait until it is no longer sticky before moving it.
If you look at my other videos, you will see I have used cling wrap, as well as cellophane, baking paper and garbage bags. What I use is determined by the outcome I am after.
It is cellophane wrap. Look for it at a craft store like michael's, hobby lobby, etc. It can come in many colors and the thicker stuff is for flower arranging, gift packaging, or candy wrapping. It can come in rolls like wrapping paper. Thicker colored cellophane was used for tinting theater lights many years ago. Excellent Tutorial. Beautifully done.

Best wave I've seen, it looks so realistic. I would just add sand to the lower bottom part. Thank you for sharing!!

I can't remember, sorry. I mixed up a batch of about 450ml and I think I did another. So I am guessing about 900ml (give or take). 💕

could you use polyester resin?
I have never used polyester resin, so can't comment on how well it will do. 💕
