    I think our best art comes from attempting to perfect our craft to our own ideal. Along the years, I’ve learned to embrace & be proud of it all & to trash the feeling of something I deem as “worthy”. One man’s trash is another man’s most loved & appreciated treasure. Don’t sell yourself short 💕

      It is all about experimenting. Some resin brands do stick to plastic, so you need to do some testing to see what works for you. Good luck for next time 💕

      What works a lot better than cellophane is clear heavy duty vinyl. Like the kind that you use to cover furniture to protect it and get from the fabric store. A couple mil. thick. The resin will keep right off then & it's reusable.

    Wish wish wish I’d taken your advice to check whether the cellophane stuck first I was so eager to get started and I’ve all but ruined it I’m trying to see what I can do now before I trash it 😫

    • @SueFindlay
      @SueFindlay  5 років тому +1

      Oh no, have you tried applying heat to help remove it? If that still doesn't work, is it noticeable if you trim the cellophane back to the resin? If so, then before throwing it away, apply another layer of resin over the cellophane, seeing as resin sticks to it. No-one will even notice :-)

    • @papilloncreations
      @papilloncreations 5 років тому

      Sue Findlay I know you’re on different time zone so I actually did this yesterday! And to be honest if I didn’t need to fix it it wouldn’t have turned out as good as it has! I also encountered cracking as I left it too long too roll but those cracks have now become extra waves so I’m chuffed!! I’ll be posting on IG and on your FB group to remind others to heed your advice unlike me! 😂❤️

    Magnifique travail comme toujours .... tu es vraiment une belle artiste !!!! Je me suis lancée un peu dans la résine et je voudrais te poser une question :-)
    tout était très bien, très lisse , j'ai passé la chalumeau pour quelques petites bulles , et maintenant que c'est sec , il y a quelques petits trous ...
    Est ce que je peux refaire une couche par dessus ?? et peux tu me dire où on trouve ces petits cailloux de verre stp ? et comment s'appellent ils :-) Merci beaucoup pour ce magnifique partage, j'ai toujours un immense plaisir à te regarder, tu es très douée :-)
    Je ne parle pas l'anglais donc je ne comprend pas ce que tu dis :-( je suis triste ....

    • @SueFindlay
      @SueFindlay  5 років тому +1

      Je vous remercie pour vos aimables paroles.
      Lorsque vous travaillez avec de la résine, vous devez faire passer la chaleur dessus plusieurs fois pour vous assurer que toutes les bulles montent. Oui, vous pouvez faire une autre couche de résine sur le dessus. Je recommanderais d’abord de poncer la résine afin de lui donner une «dent» à laquelle coller.

    Wondering what kind of cellophane you use? It looks thick. Can I buy from amazon please let me know. Thx. Also what is the widest cellophane because I want my wave quite wide how would I go about that?

    • @SueFindlay
      @SueFindlay  3 роки тому +1

      I used cellophane from a florist. I don't know if the cellophane on Amazon is precisely the same. Some people said their resin stuck to it. I also don't know how wide it comes in. I would, however, recommend getting a clear plastic shower curtain. The plastic is thick, and the resin comes to clean off. Plus, you can cut to any size. Perfect for your project.

      It is cellophane wrap. Look for it at a craft store like michael's, hobby lobby, etc. It can come in many colors and the thicker stuff is for flower arranging, gift packaging, or candy wrapping. It can come in rolls like wrapping paper. Thicker colored cellophane was used for tinting theater lights many years ago.
      Excellent Tutorial. Beautifully done.
