    Resin as You Wish- I love your videos, you are a true artist making beautiful coasters. Each is a mini work of art and I've learned much from you. However, I watch your videos to make myself better and am interested in what you do not that annoying music in the background. Too loud, and the same 4 lines over and over and over the whole video. Somehow I don't think these guys will ever make it into the music hall of fame so if you ditch it my feelings would not be hurt. I'm so looking forward to watching more of your amazing art!

    • @ResinAsYouWish
      @ResinAsYouWish  3 роки тому +1

      I usually add it before the last layer - so it is inside the design. If I forget, I can add it on a sanded coaster right before I do the final clear coat. I forget a lot 😂

    Christy you really make stunning pieces with colors that pop it’s really a beautiful look 😍 Again saw the watch out for bubbles 😉but there was glass still exposed so I thought and glass shards!😂did you add extra coat or did you sand it I’m confused because I have done this where I have a shell or glass or something still popping out but I’ve had to cover with resin so do tell me how you covered or eliminated it because the sand and prep was perfect no holes or glass exposed without resin. 😳Also the bottoms were there open spots because there wasn’t a base to start? I have done this with sand and shells and I have also done with glass like but bottom of coaster when pulled out there were little open holes where there was no resin but instead either glass or shell or whatever I used 🤣 it didn’t really matter because it was bottom and I covered it but just curious 🤓 Anyway clever you another Beauty 👏🏻👏🏻💋👍🤩

    • @ResinAsYouWish
      @ResinAsYouWish  3 роки тому

      Caron Stone since the glass was the base coat you can see through the coaster in tiny spots - you are right I can just add a bottom and it’s just that easy. Only one of the two coasters ended up with a piece of glass above the resin, since I do my sanding with a dremel it is easy to level - it is noticeable when you hit a shard compared to the resin but the dremel didn’t seem concerned about it and buzzed away. When I built my little canyon I kept checking to see the glass wasn’t stacked higher than the coaster -so I was pretty close👍 one of my favorite things about resin is that if you try hard enough everything can be inside in its own little world - I don’t like protruding things, not because of how they look, but because of how things like that collect dust and become hard to wipe off. thank you for your kind words!

    • @caronstone4226
      @caronstone4226 3 роки тому +1

      Resin As You Wish yes I too use the dremel since I learned from you!💋 but I guess since yours always seem perfect I didn’t realize it didn’t matter I agree about the sticking out things I don’t like the look I like the whole in a little resin bubble that you create but thanks for the answers I guess it’s trial and error more errors in my art room though 😬😘

    i have a question..... whenever you mix colors in the layers, it seems like your resin is thick? do you wait for 30-40 min n let the resin become thick or the resin you use is thick or it just looks like to me? plz do answer.

    • @ResinAsYouWish
      @ResinAsYouWish  3 роки тому +1

      I am using MiraKleer brand resin, it is thick, but I have used resin that it thicker and a couple that are really thin. In the video, I did not wait to use the resin, I used it as soon as it was mixed.

    Would this be possible with glow in the dark resins (yellow and orange) in combination with the alcohol ink?

    • @ResinAsYouWish
      @ResinAsYouWish  2 роки тому

      yes, as long as the glow colors are high quality. I have found that glow powders aren't always vibrant and this makes it harder to see a glow result, especially ifyou are going to be adding others colors on top of them. here is an example: www.pinterest.com/pin/473300242092458660/

    Is the acrylic paint by itself or mixed with resin ?

  • @gourdhead22
    @gourdhead22 3 роки тому

    I hate to bother you but I have no one to ask. I use liquitex ink can I add alcohol to it to make alcohol ink? Sorry if it sounds stupid.. Thank you in advance..

    • @ResinAsYouWish
      @ResinAsYouWish  3 роки тому

      Well I will say you can mix alcohol into acrylic colors, always use 90% or higher alcohol, but whenever I’ve seen this it has been adding alcohol to paint on a canvas - the way it blooms out is super pretty, alcohol affects inks drastically but I have never mixed an acrylic with alcohol with the intent to create alcohol inks to use in resin, I have mixed alcohol with mica powders but it’s better to say, they don’t really mix, instead they react to each other and create amazing effects. I did find this tho: feltmagnet.com/crafts/DIY-Craft-Supplies-Make-Your-Own-Alcohol-Inks

    • @mookzmom
      @mookzmom 3 роки тому +1

      I don't know the answer for certain, but why not try it? just a tiny bit of the ink into alcohol (use high percentage alcohol....like 90% or more) I'd be interested in hearing your results! They say that powdered pigments can be used in alcohol to make alcohol ink, so that's why I answered. I'm interested!

      I'm sorry I went looking for it, but I can't find it. I use a program with Stock Music, the artists that sell permissions take songs and add to them (extend solos etc) so you aren't looping a 2 minute song. I did talk to the program folks a while back and they have it fixed for me to see the song from now on, but only those since I asked them to fix it . I haven't found this one again and there are hundreds to go through
