Hello everyone! We got back from the store with all new materials for the green house. We got right back to work. We really wanted to get this green house dried in because the rain supposed to come back soon. It was so hot while working on the green house. The humidity was almost unbearable. We can surly see the finish line though! Thank you all for being here, we appreciate you all! Enjoy!

Roxanne, green is actually a neutral color. That is why any color of plant, flower, vegetable, or grass goes with it. There are so many shades to chose from. I really love the idea in comments about the birds, mushrooms, gnomes painted on the bottom also. Green with a matching door to the house and other buildings. I also love the window box suggestions. It is a lovely greenhouse.
You can tell that Anthony loves Roxane, he has done a wonderful job of making her gardening dreams come true. Looks amazing!!

Might want to paint the inside, to protect against the greenhouse's humidity. Also insulation on the lower walls will help it grow veggies and flowers in winter. One solar panel on a southern facing wall and a solar generator could power lights and fans.

Great ideas daviddarnell...I think it would look classy painted green on the outside..a soft medium fern colour not dark or glossy and maybe add a couple of window boxes to extra trailing plants plus some wooden finials on the roof to give a classic look....we brits love our conservatories, orangeries and greenhouses...just add a classic striped deckchair outside and you could be in Kew..lol They really have done a fabulous job..love it. 😊👍🇬🇧🌼
Y'all have done a fantastic job on the greenhouse. You always do a great job on whatever project you work on. I'm torn on what color to paint it. Either a light green or the same color as your house. I think either one would be good.
That’s going to be a very nice greenhouse Roxanne.. Anthony is doing a great job on it..the whole garden area is so nice.. it makes you motivated to grow a good crop of veggies to preserve..

I would add an additional rafter between the current rafters to help support the polycarbonate on the roof. It looked like each panel had a slight dip in it. Remember during the Fall you will have leaves build up on it and in the Winter, you may have some snow. Polycarbonate is great to use on greenhouses or any other outside building where you need some light. My Mom used it on hers in the early 1970's and I think the studs and rafters were on 12" centers due to building codes in our area, because of hurricanes.

Green for the garden it is not a shed or outbuilding it is on its own GREENhouse.
I agree. It's on the same homestead but in its own area. I guess you could call it the reddish/orange house instead, lol. Seriously, whatever color you choose, obviously, but I think a shade of green would be awesome.

It looks good and will last you forever. I think you should paint it the same color as your other buildings. I live in northern central Fl. and our neighbor has a bluebird house. The birds occupy it all year long and raise babies all year around. Before migration we had a lot of bluebirds come ro our feeders. We bought a cheap mesh basket type of basket feeder and put dried mealyworms in it. More than just bluebirds visit and enjoy. I paid around $6 at Amazon. What i like about it is the rain does not collect and sit in it. We have woodpeckers and any bird that eats bugs visit it. Love it.

I agree, Roxanne. Painting the greenhouse the same as the house and Thunderdome provides continuity, and it will look like it belongs there, and not like an afterthought. :-)
Everything is looking so beautiful. I think you should paint it the same color as the rest of the buildings but at the end of the day it belongs to you guys so paint it whatever color you want. You guys are awesome.
All that rain did your garden good. Looks like it has grown by leaps and bounds. The greenhouse is amazing. I would probably paint it to match the rest of your buildings. But I’m sure whatever you decide will look great.

That is what I used when I converted a dilapidated building into a greenhouse. I did get the spacers for it but I don't know that I would again. They restrict the airflow. I love that they sell everything needed for a complete project. It's easy to cut and lightweight, so easy to use. Congratulations on the greenhouse. You all have come a long way since moving onto the 40.

You definitely need colour on this greenhouse to match your garden and surrounding flowers 💐 paint sweet soft colours and sketch In some flowers, birds, green leaves, lady bugs, gromes, mushrooms, Lily and one of the kats...oh and don't forget something patriotic for David...it's looking awesome 😀p.s. do a Dutch door, bottom wood, top part clear
The greenhouse looks like a professionally built one that you could buy. Roxane's she shed. I would paint it green but paint the door and any trim the house color. Look at your house and all the greenery around it, it looks great. You'll be spending a lot of time in there so paint it whatever makes you happy, a calming space. Have a wonderful weekend.

I like the fact you screwed everything together. Trim angle and closure can be added later to help seal it up. Insulation on the bottom and water resistant material on inside. Seal the floor with something to protect the wood from dirt and water❤

I think the same colors as your other buildings for the greenhouse. Then add decorations like a name sign and metal butterflies, dragonflies, flowers, etc..

Add a 2x between the joist to help support the roof. Shade of brown or stain on outside.just thinkking out loud. Your decisions are always the best for you.

I was reading in my "lost ways book" run across something that should interest yall , it's about the pond , they used silver coins to keep water clear and fresh , back then they used a barley sack and put the silver in that and suspender it in the water , this was also done in big open wells back in the days of old , what worked then should work today .... check it out ...like the green house should be very productive in the garden .

It looks amazing! I agree with keeping the paint the same as the house and other buildings. You can add pops of color with flower pots, wind chimes, flags etc.

Ant., ok here is a thought for you on sealing the outer corners of your Greenhouse! They sell a foam filler that matches the hills and valleys of the clear siding you put on. Some construction adhesive and that foam would give you a flat surface to use 1" x 4" trim to seal the corners. That foam would also seal between the top of the wall and the roof panels. Hope that helps! ❤❤
Yep, I’m a long time bird watcher. Told ya when you got the houses that they were blue bird houses. They nest in the open like that too, so you have them in a perfect place.

You need to get a shade cloth next to protect your plants and you from too much heat. Itll make your temp more comfortable 🌞 Congratulations 👏
