I'm excited to finally read City at War. Ever since I watched the 2003 toon adaptation of it I have been wanting to read the original. Plus, it will be nice to have read through the entire (well almost entire) original Mirage run. I still have no idea why at least issue 8 wasn't included when it has been included in all of the other collections, but I'm so glad this book isn't missing anything.
AC FARLEY was my favorite TMNT artist, and I hated how they just kind of disappeared from the industry after BIONEERS (also from MIRAGE) abruptly ended.
Im still torn on buying these as it isnt a "complete" series missing _The River_ , _Sky Highway_ and Dave Sims issue, but it does look beautiful having the entire 3rd half of the series collected, especially some of those pricy City at War issues
stocked for this one . i kind of hope they do color editions down the road with the missing issues & definetly with same matt paper like the works hardcovers
Dang, I have the 6 "Ultimate" hardcovers so I never got the 1st volume. Since there's a volume 2 and NOW a volume *3* I kinda wanna start collecting these lol.
mirage continuity tmnt has four volumes. i think this just runs up to the end of volume 1. volume 3 isnt canon and volume 4 remains unfinished to this day for some reason.
Cheap Graphic Novels is showing a hardcover coming out in February 2025 that collects the 13 issues of volume 2 by Mirage that was released in 1993 to 1995
it is the last of the original run. there is another hardcover coming out next year called The Mirage Years that collects vol. 2 of tmnt which is the stuff that came after this compendium.
Never feel like an idiot for asking questions. They were originally released as black and white comics. Later they did do releases of those comics in color.
To get these in color you have to track down some tpb IDW did several years back. The main stories are collected in a series called “ TMNT color classics” hardcovers of those were called TMNT the works. IDW also did colored versions of the non Eastman/Laird books called “TMNT classics” they also have colored collections of Tales of TMNT.
I might be in the minority here, but I would really love for the Archie series and its spinoffs to be collected at some point. Those were my gateway comics when I was a kid, and once they stopped being faithful to the cartoon and doing their own thing they got legitimately interesting and well-written doing really cool stuff with the characters.
@@mattpen Oh snap, you're right, just saw! That's great -- too bad we have to wait until volume 2 or 3 before they collect the issues when the series really picked up in quality, but I'm happy they're doing it.
I have this ordered from my local Comic Shop, can't wait.
I really hop IDW one day reprint the Ultimate Collection. They are just more comfy to read in, than the compendium/omnies. :P

I scored the dave sim issue in full color and oversized for 5 bucks 😮
I still dont have vol 2! What would be cool to have is the Tmnt ARCHIE comics as an omnibus!
With the TMNT Movie Adaptation
Yes would love to have the Archie TMNT in omnibus form
It's coming out March 25th 2025 available for preorder
@@deepspace9958 the Archie TMNT?
If you check on the league there's a listing for an Archie Omni, I'm extremely interested in that
I love this video, Omar!!! 👍

Do you think that they will include the Jim Lawson run in the fourth volume?
Is there going to be a fourth volume, I see a listing for TMNT the Mirage years, which collects Lawson’s vol 2
What's next after this book?
Nvm I kept watching the vid
I'd love to get these, but the missing issues from the first two volumes is such a bummer. Just thrash out a deal to get them all in.
There's gonna be a Vol. 4? I was under the impressing TMNT Compendium 3 was the last one of the original run.

I believe I was thinking of the cartoon collection.

Blast from the past, but I'm going to stick to the IDW run from Vol 1-13.
Is Turtles always black and white? I feel like an idiot asking that hahahag im sooorryyyy im new to the turtels

Wish these were in color
I agree! They should reprint these with color
Definitely not. The originals were black and white, there’s no need to colorize them.
Indeed😊

I have the works vol 2,3,4 for sale.
Yo.
These still in print ? What retailers are selling these?
You can check out his sponsors
Could you please do a Dick Tracy reading order
Looks like decent book, but for me not worth the asking price. Considering its mostly a black and white book with no extras. But thats just me:-)
Agreed 🎉
It goes down in price on Amazon to around $70

It’s a shame so much is in black and white, otherwise I’d consider buying these.
It was the og comics
Color is a choice, not a quality.
