It is a shame that all the rights stuff couldn’t get cleared for these Compendiums. TMNT was really a who’s who for legendary independent cartoonists of the day. It would be cool to see all that be represented in these collections. Plus, these are pretty gorgeous reproductions! I got the first volume for 1/2 Off, so I might wait for another chance to get this book at a discount
From what it seems like, only issue 8 and the Veicht stuff is missing. Can't say I'm surprised the man who ruined Swamp Thing would not want his TMNT stuff collected.
I got Vol 1 at Target brand new for 30 bucks. I guess someone ordered it online and then returned it to the store unopened. It was on the clearance section with a bunch of random blu rays.
I just finished reading this the other day and it was weird, even by TMNT standards. Like the book starts off continuing where the last one left off, Return to NY happens, but then after that everything just became random. I have no idea how some of these stories fit into the series at all nor what the hell was going on with half of them. There's some time traveling plot where the turtles get blown up and Splinter knows how to rebuild their bodies. Ones set in ancient Japan or something where the turtles look like stone gorillas and Shredder is a good guy. Forest spirits. And the artwork was all over the place compared to the earlier issues. I'm excited for Volume 3, but I also hope it goes back to having some sort of focus. Also be nice if April and Casey had bigger roles again.
I also felt this way , loved first compendium but started skipping stories in this one as made little sense at times ,couldn't figure out what was canon , also some art was horrible
@@NearMintConditioncould you please ask about the Ultimate Collection Hardcover reprints? Can only find paperbacks. And do you happen to remember what the price was for the hardcovers? Trying to decide if they’re worth it over $25-30 paperbacks if they ever come back to print
Going off of the solicit for TMNT IDW HC Vol 16, do you think 18 will be the last hardcover? Because theres about 18 more ongoing issues, plus Armageddon game event 6 issues; im not sure if there are any more micro series issues.
Man, it's beyond frustrating! If you own the rights to bits of something, then take the money and allow people to offer things in their entirety. If you're collecting something, pay the rights owner the money to get it done. Maybe, one day, we will get a single collection that contains ALL of the original series.
@@kuzyn_kitaszeski In an interview from the end of last year, he said he had tried to reach an agreement, but hasn't been able to have a discussion with Nickelodeon, who own the brand: "That's another mess I would love to clean up before I croak! Now they've sold to Nickelodeon and I haven't yet been able to connect with those folks. I hope someday to have that conversation and come to reasonable terms on my 200 pages of work."
Such a shame they can't figure out a way to get these stories out in complete editions.
Really makes me not want to buy them. They also have trouble finishing their stories. They just move on to new arcs. 🙄
@@Ratlegioni will not buy it😊😅😅

I would love to see the Archie-era in Hardcover.
They’re making an Archie-era omnibus which is gonna collect everything and it’s releasing either this year or next year
@@sirmcjack5685you mean Archie TMNT Omnibus releasing this year 2024 ?
IT IS SO AWESOME!!!! I have to buy Volume 1 at my LCBS, so I can pair it up with this Volume 2. Thanks Omar!!!

TMNT Compendium Vol 3 releases on September 3rd 2024.
I'm just glad we have so many of these issues collected for the first time.

Thank you 🫶🏽🐢🐢🐢🐢🐀
After watching your video I went to my book store and bought it.
Does anyone know why cheapgraphicnovels raised the price of their books to 30% off instead of 40?
Because a business has to profit, and when items get scarce, price goes up
This book isnt cheap on their site
I love turtles 🧟♂️
Any news on when IDW is going to reprint hardcover vol 14?
I can ask.

Im currently collecting idw collections and the HC ultimates. Ill have to throw these in when i see a deal to grab them as well.

I read somewhere on reddit that idw collection 18 will be the last
Have I gotten both of these, yes.
Would I get colour versions if they released them, of course.

Well, they offered to buy the rights and Mr Veitch refused to sell. That's the issue with 'creator owned'.

I really need compendiums for the newer stuff. Although i think they're just under the amount of material they'd need to do 3 of them
I'd totally give the IDW run a try if I could get them across like 3-4 omnibuses.
But can i still read these compendiums even without the missing issues?
Absolutely.
I would definitely double dip if they released the color compendium
Geez. Is there any way to ever get the complete TMNT?
Buy the issues
Original issues otherwise sadly no
😎👍Thank you
I would like an archie collection
Nice film
