    Hi Vimoh, missed your stream but wanted to ask a question: what is your view on Dawkin's "cultural Christian " remark? I feel its set back for atheism and will be justified stupid religious rituals in name of culture and tradition.

      @@vimohlive It is actually a far more valid term than an oxymoron known as Hindu Atheism. He has a christian name and was brought up in a culture that is dominated by Christianity. It is not harmful to call ourselves as a cultural hindu. Our culture is dominated by hindu festivals, culture and rituals. Our names in some way an 'homage' to a god or saints who contributed to hindu culture(positively or negatively). Our means atheists born in India and Hindu family. It doesn't have to be a political identity like what 'hindu atheist' is.

      When he says we are less he is referring to deflationary effects that we would have on world economy as we start decreasing in our population world wide. Answer perhaps lies in innovation in economics than increasing population. He is also proponent of making human race multiplanetary. That would decrease the chances that we get wiped out in any event like asteroid hitting earth.

      Dude cracking new levels of logical fallacies..😒
      Just because a place on a planet is heavily crowded doesn't mean the planet is crowded. If that's the case I could ask you to travel to Russia, Japan, Greenland and Iceland and claim that earth has way less population.
      It's true that Asia has a lot of resources but we fail in managing and utilizing them properly by some or the other reasons like social injustice, poor supply chain etc. But that doesn't mean we have plenty. We have enough space/resources for more humans if we remain conscious of sustainability and elected managers in government instead of politicians.
      And Elon is more concerned about falling birth rates (below 2 per woman) than of the current population as below 2 is unsustainable for humanity in the long run.

      He said human population density is low . Like it is concentrated in one single place (which is actually right) and Elon's first company was a software company, (now paypal) and he clearly knows what he is doing. And there is a high chance Elon will become the president of The US. (this has very high chance) and he had his hand on every single thing now is happening on tech. From AI to Twitter !

    • @jaswindersinghnarula4379
      @jaswindersinghnarula4379 Рік тому

      @@Xcvbn3355 Why do you think population is concentrated at some places? And there are other places which are still unused? Civilizations grew near water and we are struggling with potable water for current population and this man is asking for more population. Is that smart? Or there is no dearth of potable water? Only one of these can be true. Place like Punjab which had so much water will be struggling for water in coming years. And without water there will be no life. Like I said Musk is Genius but not in all areas! If you think my reasoning is wrong then enlighten me, I'm always ready to learn from anyone with open mind. And I havent gone into the amount of carbon we use daily for current population. Can we sustain more people without harming the environment more, at current technology, no.

    • @Xcvbn3355
      @Xcvbn3355 Рік тому

      @@jaswindersinghnarula4379 Should i enlighten you? Yes ofcourse! Your whole reasoning problem starts when you are considering life and humans seperately. You're considering "humans" completely as anti nature. Increase in human population has nothing to do with natural disasters ro any kind of disasters. What humans do is what matters. Humans are part of nature. Only thing that we also should do as other animals is to dominate and survive. So humans trying to reproduce, dominate and survive is a natural instinct. Even though qe are evolved enough to think about "right" and "wrong" , this doesnt make our sole purpose false or wrong. We are still animals. Sole purpose is to SURVIVE. Now coming to Elon, he is actually right in what he says (sometimes in his own notion, ofcourse humans have opinions, only we need to consider is how much it is practical according to human nature). So first thing about population is that. Elon said human population is actually very much low compared to our survival chance if a big natural disaster comes. All we have got is a brain to survive. No exoskeleton, thorns etc and ofcourse we have used it very well(all thanks to capitalistic thoughts of humans) but according to Elon, this ain't enough. We can simply become extinct when a big meteor hits(and yeah we have tech that can detect meteor that's light years away but still we dont have tech enough to counter solar fields which can break our internet and completely end the human "connections" we have made). What Elon wants is to have a maximum human population, so that majority of them will be contributing to making our survival stuff. Now let's see what are these survival stuff, survival stuff doesnt mean a jet plane used by politician to flew from the country they spoiled. It means innovation. More humans clubbed with capitalism more innovation more survival. And yeah this doesnt kill nature. Because as I said first WE ARE NATURE. We need oxygen , we need to do plants.... And ny innovation we will find a way to preserve it as well. (but definitely not by throwing starbucks coffee on a painting in museum and ordering humans to reproduce less by other humans or by telling them to go old ways). Now let's talk about human population density. Where he actually has a problem with. When you look at developed countries (even in india, states like Kerala) , have decreasing birth rates and that's because when you are doing well in life, humans become more practical than emotional and think before their actions lol. What i just said is also pretty biased or wrong since we cant generalise humans like other animals since we have our own doings depending upon culture and traditions. So may reproduce more as they do well in life or less. whatever it is, human population must be well distributed around the globe. Not like now where India has a lot and other developed countries have nothing. Don't judge me but mathematically 1 person from US = 3 persons from India. So even if a lot of population is there in India, dont make any change to this world at all if everybody is poor. That's why distribution is important. We must be populated enough (with a good distribution) for another planet clubbed with capitalism to get the tech enough live on another planet. Just mind that increase in human population has nothing to do with climate change ro whatever. What we do matters. What we can do is not protest or regulate or give some bald old guy a lot of power to rule instead we must innovate, produce and dominate/survive.

    Unfortunately, I missed the live today as well. Just wanted to inform you of a funny development happening in Kerala.
    The speaker of Kerala referenced the Ganapati head plastic surgery and Vimana-aircraft of ancient India instance as unscientific, basically mocking Modi. In response, he is being blamed by Nair Service Society (NSS), which is an upper caste organisation with deep roots among Keralite Hindus. They say, the Assembly Speaker's remark hurt Hindu sentiments. They are stirring up a lot of discussion here and the Sanghis are trying to ride that card. Read about it. It's funny. They did some yagas and what-not in a few temples against the speaker. This is being flared up against him because he has a Muslim name: AN Shamseer. That is despite him carrying a rationalist outlook. This outrage did not happen when Shashi Tharoor made jokes about the Ganapati head plastic surgery thing, previously, because he is also from the Nair community.
    It would be great if you can partner with Pranav and do a discussion on this.

      @@alpeshmittal3779 There is a massive diatribe against the NSS-Sanghi narratives among the Keralites in general. They're being mocked super hard by the large but divided atheist-rationalist-communist-freethinker individuals and orgs here.
      That said, I am let down by the Congress party in Kerala and their siding with the NSS, especially in such an issue on which the National Congress was mocking Modi!
      The media here is hellbent on covering this extensively and thus fuelling the fire. Gladly, they are aware that the public is not that dumb here, so they're forced to take the right angle, albeit reluctantly.
